ABOUT TWIZTID

The TWIZTID tale is gritty and fascinating folklore, built on self-determination, fearless creativity, and the elimination of the boundaries between artist and audience. The dedicated supporters who stand with co-conspirators Jamie Madrox and Monoxide are more than fans: they are family. The duo remembers what it meant to be part of the crowd before they leaped the barricades onto the stage themselves, and with unrelenting passion and aggression, they’re taking all of us with them.

There’s a rogue’s gallery of hooks, rhythms, and riffs in the TWIZTID bag of tricks. For 25 years, they’ve concocted artistic anarchy rooted in the streetwise storytelling sophistication of hip-hop, trance-inducing hypnotic beats, and the seething bite of hard rock rage. Merging horror movies, comics, and a level of depravity and violence rivaling the grimiest of pulp fiction in the annals of Americana, TWIZTID is the reflection of a tightly knit subculture and the sound of unbridled id.

TWIZTID spin emotional truth into even the wildest of tales, resulting in something endlessly relatable to the alienated and disenfranchised. The music, multimedia, and merchandise originate from their own Majik Ninja Entertainment, headquartered in their native Detroit.

With over a dozen entries on the Billboard charts, 167 million career streams and 148 million Youtube views, TWIZTID built themselves into an institution, without the help of mainstream gatekeepers at MTV, traditional radio, or major press. They’ve brought their adrenaline-soaked, unbound artistic mania on the road, with metalcore acts like Motionless In White and on the Vans Warped Tour, all without forsaking the worldwide family they helped strengthen during their initial decade-plus on Psychopathic Records. TWIZTID built the connection they maintain with their fiercely dedicated legion of supporters to last and to evolve. Everything Majik Ninja does harken back to that original impulse shared by Monoxide and Jamie Madrox: to make art that swings a big ax at the boundary between audience and artist.

About Doyle
Lodi, a small borough of Bergen County, New Jersey, is just over two square miles. There’s not much to suggest that the small village would be the birthplace of a world famous, blood-soaked form of music known as horror punk. Legendary acts The MisfitsSamhain, and Danzig all have their origins in Lodi, and something monstrous indeed lurks there. The poster child and originator of the genre, himself, has once again unleashed an evil noise on an unsuspecting world: Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein’s first release, Abominator, by his eponymous band, Doyle.

Released on Doyle’s own label, Monsterman RecordsAbominator is a sonically thick and lyrically evil slab of metal that finds Doyle expanding in a logical progression upon the genre of music he helped create. Doyle’s first band, the infamous Glenn Danzig-fronted Misfits, helped create the genre of speed/thrash metal with their last album, 1983’s Earth AD/Wolf’s Blood- in fact the record has been revered as one of the blueprints for the genre by many of its most respected players, as evidenced by countless groups covering the album’s songs, not the least of which being Metallica. Abominator is not the sound of some punk guitarist gone metal- it’s the roaring return of one of extreme metal’s original architects to his blood-splattered drawing board.

Coming from a legendary band of almost mythological proportions, and having first worked with one of the most talented and respected vocalists of the century (the infamous Glenn Danzig), Doyle’s new project would need a singer with brass balls, cast-iron pipes, a suitably twisted mind, and his own vocal delivery style. Enter Alabama’s Alex Story of Cancerslug, a Southern fiend who’s sand-blasted scream opens the record, and the evil doesn’t relent until the ending growl of “Hope Hell Is Warm”, the album’s defiant closer. The man can scream and sing, and employs both styles to great effect, switching seamlessly from raw-throated roars to rough-edged, yet melodic, clean vocals. Alex’s live performances can only be described as unforgettable, disturbing and strangely addictive – a perfect complement to the already mammoth stage presence of Doyle himself.

The unmistakable sound of Doyle’s signature Annihilator guitar cuts through on every tune like a sonic fingerprint, starting with the snarling opening title track Abominator. The Annihilator’s tone is sharp as a butcher’s knife in the wrong hands and just as nasty- fans of the Misfits will recognize it right away.

On tunes like “Headhunter” and “Land of the Dead” the riffs are relentless, and if a riff could be described in emotional terms, remorseless. “Dreamingdeadgirls” brings a blackened-blues swing, and the doom-laden “Love Like Murder” shows a healthy appreciation for all things Sabbath. “Blood Stains” moves from primal sludge to ripping off-time thrash with ease. The album is just that- an album, a cohesive and well executed piece of work that takes the listener on a journey; albeit a bloody journey to places some fear to tread.

As befits songs as musically dark as Abominator‘s, the album’s lyrics are not for the faint of heart. Throughout the entire record, there is absolutely zero attempt to balance its evil with any sort of good counterpoint- penned entirely by Story (probably in blood), Abominator‘s lyrics are entirely and uncompromisingly dark. Music fans looking for feel- good anthems had best look elsewhere- those who enjoy strolling through the shadows will be greatly satisfied.

So how did this Jersey devil and crew wind up with a Dixie-bred howler? “After I had written all this music, I realized I had to get someone to sing this stuff- once I’m done recording guitars, all I can see is myself just playing that riff, ya know? That’s my thing, not lyrics and singing,” Doyle says, with typically blunt candor. “I’ve known Alex for a while, so I called him up, then sent him a bunch of the tunes. Two days later he sent me back ‘Mark of the Beast’, just like it is on the record. I said ‘That’s exactly what I want!’, and the rest is history. I only wrote the word ‘abominator’- all the rest of that stuff is Alex. He’s just crazy, man”.

It’s a match made in hell. But no metal band would be complete without a complete animal behind the drum kit. Brandon “The Crusher” Pertzborn (of Black Flag) delivers all the aggression and insanity necessary (and then some) with his exquisite musicality and showmanship.

So what can fans expect at a Doyle show?

“To get fucking pummeled, man. And then go home and ask themselves ‘What the fuck just happened to me?!?’, hahaha…” he replies with a laugh that this time, no joke about it, actually sounds evil. Loud, aggressive, and technically proficient, Doyle and crew are set to show the world how true horror metal sounds today.

So crank up Abominator until your speakers blow, check out Doyle on tour, and let the beatings begin!

Dead Poet Society Share ".SALT." Video — WATCH

Los Angeles quartet Dead Poet Society have shared the video for ".SALT." Watch the story-driven video below.

The track is darkly seductive, with a quiet push-and-pull tension.

"We wrote this song about getting f*cked over by certain people in our career," the band explains. "People we thought we could trust, people who we never could have foreseen doing the things they did. Over the course of our career, we've met and worked with a lot of people — many of whom have been a blessing and have largely contributed to our success. But as a band, especially in the early years, there were sharks out there. This song is straight from the heart."

The band will return to the road this spring supporting Biffy Clyro, who hand-picked the band for the bill. The tour kicks off April 17 in Chicago and runs through May 9 in Los Angeles. All dates are below. The band will also return to Europe this summer for festival season, where they are set to perform at Download in the UK and Full Force in Germany.

Dead Poet Society are poised to have a major year in 2022. The band released their debut album -!- (said as "The Exclamation Album.") a year ago and have since accumulated over 30 million global streams, with over 10 million in the U.S. alone. The single ".CoDA." was a Top 15 single at radio, spending over 20 weeks on the chart. The track was also featured on Spotify’s Rock This playlist. The band hit the road last fall in support of Badflower and made appearances at the Welcome to Rockville and Louder Than Life festivals. Across the pond, the band appeared at the Reading and Leeds festivals. At Reading, they drew one of the biggest crowds of the day. Watch footage of the definitive performance here.

BLACK LAVA Signs to Season of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of BLACK LAVA, the newly born experimental groove metal band from Australia! The band is gearing up to release their debut album via Season of Mist - stay tuned!

BLACK LAVA comments on the signing:
"We are delighted to announce our partnership with SoM, and it was literally our first choice of label to work with, so to be accepted and be amongst the SoM team once again is a dream for us.

"Ben Boyle and Dan Presland have worked with the team before (Vipassi, Ne Obliviscaris), so we knew this would be the perfect fit for the band. Exciting things are planned on the horizon, and we are eager to push forward with the support of SoM!"

For a glimpse of what's to come, the band has shared a teaser clip of one of the new singles, which you can hear below.

Genre: Experimental Groove Metal

Formed late 2021, after months of setbacks and turbulence of the uncertain 2020/2021 period - Ben (Vipassi, AMDBL, Hadal Maw) and Dan (Vipassi, AMDBL, Ne Obliviscaris) got together for a creative session to try and inject some spark back into their musical lives.

Some ideas were formed, and before long, an idea and concept came to mind. Quickly realizing the project's sound, Tim Anderson (Blackhelm) and Rob Watkins (Blackhelm) were recruited, and two months later an entire record was written. The band then entered Bushido studios to record their debut between Christmas and New Year in 2021. The record was then mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, The Dillinger Escape Plan) and mastered by Alan Douches at West West side.

Line Up:
Dan Presland (drums)
Ben Boyle (guitar)
Rob Watkins (Vocals)
Tim Anderson (bass)

Ukrainian electronic artist 6TH CROWD releases electro-folk 'Sokolonko' single with proceeds aiding Ukraine

"This is some fun fine dynamic electro pop... perfect inspiration to break out the dance shoes and get some groove on"Big Takeover Magazine

"Electro wings flirting seriously with the techno boost... combines grooves from rave dance floors, melancholic storytelling from 80’s alternative rock scene, and melodic electro-pop vocals.... obviously needed musical escapade"White Light / White Heat

"Echoes with the sort of soundscapes beloved of the likes of Chemical Brothers or perhaps Four Tet... blends a more clubland groove and euphoric rave sonics with the depth of alt-rock and the melodics of pop" Dancing About Architecture

Ukraine-based electronic producer 6TH CROWD (a.k.a. Dari Maksymova) presents her new single 'Sokolonko', inspired by an old harvest song. This is the first offering from the album 'Step' (the Ukrainian word for Steppe), which she was working on when Russia invaded Ukraine, turning the country into a war zone.

"This is a Ukrainian song from Donbas, my dear home region, which Russia is tearing apart right now. I didn’t know if I’d have a chance to do it later. In my research, as I learned more about folk Ukrainian music, I noticed that modern culture has plenty of references to music from western and central parts of my country, but nothing from the east. Nothing from my home. Culturally it simply didn’t exist. So I decided I wanted to change that balance and bring songs from East Ukraine back to life, to remind myself and everyone that Donbas is a historical part of Ukraine, no matter how badly Putin wants to destroy it," says Dari Maksymova.

"If people don’t remember their own history, someone can rewrite it for them. And then come with guns to “defend” Russian people in Ukraine, Moldova, or Serbia."

In 2020, 6TH CROWD emerged on the electronic music scene with her debut 'Avoid The Void' EP, which addressed certain issues regarding the newfound COVID-19 situation, social distancing, lockdown and quarantines. In 2021, she released the 'What Happened' EP via French label 50 Degrees North Recordingson the trail of 2020 singles 1312' and 'Не вивожу (Ne Vyvozhu)'.

"Over a week ago, Russia invaded Ukraine, shelling cities and killing hundreds of civilians. The Russian president calls it a “special operation” for “saving Russian-speaking people.” A more accurate term for it is “war”. And even more accurately is the intention behind this war: Russification, and Russification is cultural genocide. It’s clear that the ancient Greeks don’t exist, but we know of them because their cultural artifacts have been preserved. In the absence of their books, literature and artwork, we wouldn’t otherwise know anything about them as a people. Their history would simply cease to exist. That’s the goal of Russification - to remove all of the distinct and unique ethnic histories and merge them into one," says Dari Maksymova.

"When Communists gathered different nations under the umbrella of the USSR, they desperately needed to rewrite history. They needed everyone to share the same bland fake ethnicity, they needed people to forget their roots. So people would never get second thoughts about belonging to ‘the great empire”, never question orders and the party line. While, in newly-built cities, their Russification program was going pretty well, people in villages continued to be a real pain in the ass. They lived and worked far from centralized sources of information and relied on the government very little… and didn’t rush to become Soviet people. Yes, they lived in the Soviet Union and yes, they worked in Soviet fields, but one thing they did that drove the Russians crazy: the villagers spoke Ukrainian and sang their own songs."

She adds: "Before people had Spotify, they sang to themselves - while working in fields, while fighting, getting married… they sang all the time. Those songs passed from one to another, along with very important information about people. What language they spoke, what they believed, what they hoped, who their heroes were. Songs from people are also songs about people."

You can support 6TH CROWD by downloading this single, available via Bandcamp and Apple Music, who will donate proceeds to Vostok SOS, whose humanitarian campaign includes helping people evacuate and providing humanitarian aid and psychosocial support, with hotlines for affected people and a team on the ground in the region, coordinating aid.

You can also add this song to your Spotify playlists. But the most important thing right now is to support Ukraine. You can donate to humanitarian missions, directly to the army, spread awareness about this ugly war, and join demonstrations in your city. There are also many other ways you can help Ukraine now and numerous options for supporting humanitarian aid efforts in the region.

Miranda Lambert Named ACM Entertainer of the Year; Extends Record as Most Decorated Artist in ACM History

MIRANDA LAMBERT NAMED ACM ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR

Most Awarded Artist in ACM History Also Takes Home Video of the Year Trophy for Current Top 10 Single “
Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” With Elle King

Lambert
Teases New Music as “If I Was A Cowboy” Climbs Top 20 at Country Radio Ahead of Headlining C2C Festival Shows in the U.K. and Ireland This Week

“This one goes out to all the singer-songwriter girls out there that are putting their blood, sweat and tears into their guitar strings,” shared newly-crowned Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert as she accepted the night’s top honor at the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards, via video message from Europe, where she is set to headline the C2C Festival this weekend. “We did it! This is for us.”

It was only fitting that the most awarded artist in ACM history accepted from the road to close out the night, a nod to her nonstop hustle as recognized by the ACM voting body and qualifying the Texas-native for the coveted Triple Crown Award. In addition to her return to live shows, Lambert has released a seemingly endless string of new music both on her own and as part of varying collaborations, leading Variety to declare, “we could argue [Lambert’s] has been the most important country music career of the 21st century.”

From upbeat anthems “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Elle King and her own “Tequila Does” dance remix to full-length albums The Marfa Tapes with Jack Ingram & Jon Randall (plus a corresponding film) and Hell of a Holiday with her Pistol Annies trio, the year was already a musical celebration for the three-time GRAMMY winner before even taking into account her recent solo releases: “If I Was A Cowboy” and inclusive Queer Eye theme “Yall Means All.”

The woman NPR praises as “the most riveting Country star of her generation” also took home the ACM Award for Video of the Year in honor of her raucous ’80s-inspired wedding collaboration with King, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” which is nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category at the upcoming April 3 ceremony. Lambert is also nominated for the Best Country Album GRAMMY Award, celebrating her work on The Marfa Tapes with Jack Ingram & Jon Randall – a project that was named among 2021’s best by American Songwriter, Billboard, LA Times, Rolling Stone, TIME, Vulture and more.

“Elle and I are new friends, but it really feels like we are old friends; I felt like that immediately when I met her at one of her shows,” Lambert shares of her co-star in the music video co-directed by Alexa Kinigopoulos and Stephen Kinigopoulos. “Since then, we’ve toured together and sang on stage together, recorded together and bonded about actual life. This song just feels like the natural transition to the after party. To have the music video be recognized with an award win is really special. I love that we’ll always have this together.”

These two latest ACM Awards extend Lambert’s longstanding relationship with the Academy of Country Music as the most decorated artist in the organization’s history with a record-extending 37 wins. In addition to numerous trophies for her annual achievements, she is also the recipient of the ACM 50th Anniversary Milestone Award and ACM Gene Weed Milestone Award in honor of her record-setting win count, the ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award (presented to a singer-songwriter who is continuing Haggard’s legacy by following their own path while epitomizing his spirit through genuine performances and great storytelling) and the ACM Song of the Decade Award for “The House That Built Me.”

Lambert, who has recently teased new music on socials, is set to join forces with Little Big Town for this spring’s co-headlining The Bandwagon Tour kicking off May 6 in Houston, offering a reincarnation of 2018’s run of the same name which earned rave reviews from Pollstar, CMT, The Tennessean and more.

THE LION'S DAUGHTER is supporting their latest release, 'Skin Show,' which is out now!

'Skin Show' could serve as the soundtrack to Times Square in the 1970s - the epicenter of sin and salacious misdeeds; a haven for sex, drugs, and crime beneath the inviting glow of neon signs from sleazy adult video stores; a place one would not dare walk alone after midnight unless tempted by devil himself. Its deviant, raw, nasty, disturbing, and yet, the most lively, evolved, and polished version of the trio yet.

'Skin Show' can be streamed, downloaded, and ordered HERE.

Skin Show could serve as the soundtrack to Times Square in the 1970s - the epicenter of sin and salacious misdeeds; a haven for sex, drugs, and crime beneath the inviting glow of neon signs from sleazy adult video stores; a place one would not dare walk alone after midnight unless tempted by devil himself. Its deviant, raw, nasty, disturbing, and yet, the most lively, evolved, and polished version of the trio yet.

For the first part of its career, The Lion’s Daughter was deeply rooted in blackened sludge metal. However, when it came time for album number three, the St. Louis trio abandoned all tradition and traversed into new territory through bold experimentations with Future Cult, a synth-laden metal record that could easily serve as the score to a Dario Argento film. Now, the band picks up where it left off, once again delivering an opus that cannot be labeled or defined. “The synths were always something that I heard in my head, but just couldn't figure out the logistics,” explains frontman Rick Giordano regarding the distinct directional change. “I also had to completely stop giving a fuck about how anyone might react to them. Most of the synths on Future Cult are very aggressive and rooted in horror, which I think was a safe way to use them. For this record, I wanted to stop playing it safe. I wanted to use more natural synth sounds and let things take on soft and somber tones at times, rather than just screaming alongside the guitars at all times. There was a lot of experimenting to see what other roles the synths could play in the music and what shapes they could create. I think we spent our early years as a band just trying to figure out who we were, and on Future Cult, the answer became clear to us. Instead of changing that formula, we chose to expand on it and see where else it could lead.”

While Skin Show is rife with the trepidation of eerie synths and a cinematic atmosphere much like its former, it is not a replica, nor does it follow the same formulaic approach. Future Cult delivered darkness in excess – heavy, unnerving, and unmistakably inspired by vintage horror and sci-fi movie scores. In contrast, Skin Show is its brighter counterpart, capturing an essence that, on the surface, might seem tamer and more palatable in comparison. However, the album still dwells deep in deviance. Each passage, no matter how glossy, is offset with belligerent vocals and lyrics that detail sexual violence, shame, abuse, desperation, and paranoia. It’s the type of record that can easily garner coveted radio airplay, and yet, it can also serve as the background playlist for a BDSM orgy in an illegal dungeon or abandoned warehouse. “This was our attempt at a straight-forward pop record,” says Giordano. “It, of course, all still came out fucked because it's us creating it. But I tried to imagine our band playing a giant arena and what that would sound like. I wanted to strip away some of the chaos and just write stronger songs. I didn't want the band to mellow out, but I did want to see if we could mature a bit. If the previous album was an intense sci-fi slasher, this one would be closer to a Hitchcock or DePalma film.”

Make no mistake, while there is a blatant antithesis between the band’s two personalities, the duality is a major part of Skin Show’s identity. Reflected not only in the music, but also through the ominous and unsettling artwork created by Mothmeister. When asked about the collaboration, Giordano says, “We worked with Mothmeister again for the album art and used a similar approach as we did with the music. Things are stripped down, more direct, more focused. There's a sense of fear, isolation, and madness that very much correlates with the music. The character on the outside is in white and surrounded in light, while the character on the inside is in black surrounded by darkness. But it's ultimately two sides of the same character. I think that's a good representation of the themes within the album, dark things within people that they may want to keep hidden.”

The Lion’s Daughter may elude all characterization, fitting in all boxes while also fitting in none at all, but one thing is for certain, the genuine artistry behind Skin Show is forthright and undeniable. Whether it be a poppy opus like the title track or the haunting and sludgy vibes of “The Chemist,” all ten tracks are guaranteed to be bangers, holding the listener at knifepoint and demanding their attention with each and every note.

The rise of American black metal is a cult movement whose vast influence and growth cannot be ignored. Houston’s Necrofier carries this torch, embodying the hallmarks of melodic black metal while embracing their Texas roots, delivering what can only be described as total Southern darkness as they bridge the divide between true Norwegian black metal and American gothic.

In the fall of 2018, fate coalesced when vocalist/guitarist Bakka Larson (VENOMOUS MAXIMUS, NIGHT COBRA) saw an open call on social media from drummer Dobber Beverly (OCEANS OF SLUMBER, INSECT WARFARE) who was looking to work on a traditional heavy metal project. Larson had already been working on black metal songs as an outlet to explore the themes of the supernatural and unknown and exploring this darkness, so he jumped on the opportunity and quickly reached out. The two immediately connected over their shared passion to create dark, old school music in which they could inject their Southern flair.

The duo eventually recruited Beverly’s OCEANS OF SLUMBER counterpart and bassist Mat Valentine and soon wrote and released a debut EP, ‘Visions in Fire,’ which channeled the spirit of late-era DISSECTION, WATAIN, CLOAK, and TRIBULATION while staying true to their own homegrown sensibilities.

Not long after the EP release, the band scored an opening slot with UADA. Needing a second guitarist to fill out the sound, Josh Bokemeyer (CHURCH OF DISGUST) was eventually tapped to fill that role, completing the band’s inception.

The four-piece later released a music video for the EP title track and went on to perform with a vast array of their black metal brethren such as 1349, Goatwhore, and Cloak, including an appearance at a coveted SXSW showcase. Now, the band is emerging from the darkness of 2021, ready to fan the unholy flames and finally release their devastating debut full-length, ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness.’

Ireland's Friendmaker presents uplifting debut single 'You, Me and Everything Else'

"A band that holds great promise, we hope that will folks will look back on this single a decade from now, marking Friendmaker's big splash onto the music scene. It's catchy and colorful, yet comfortably on the reflective end of the spectrum, their personalities percolating through this stunning creation" ~ The Record Stache

From the Irish borderlands emerges Friendmaker, a five-piece indie alt-folk pop-rock band, fronted by singer, songwriter and producer David Marron (Sanzkrit, Somefinn). Their debut single 'You, Me and Everything Else' will be released on March 3. This endearing and infectious indie-folk offering is accompanied by a stark meaningful video with cinematography by Darren Finn and Fiona Marron and choreography by Orla Sheridan and Paige Cunningham.

‘You, Me & Everything Else’ is a reflective folk meandering that wilfully loses itself to a darker undertow. It is a moment in thought. The pause before a new chapter. A love song about the other love, the one they don’t write about. A love beyond the initial spark and the early excitement. A love that requires you to reveal more of yourself than just the curated ideal. A love that invites you to learn more of self and asks you to lay bare your innermost truths. Will they still like the real you? Will you?

Hailing from Carrickmacross in Monaghan County, near the border with Northern Ireland, Marron (vocals and guitar) is joined by Maolíosa McMahon (vocals and keys), Paul Finn (guitar and vocals), Paul Markey (bass) and Fintan Marron(drums). Friendmaker combines Marron’s endearing storytelling approach and insightful lyrics with a rich soundtrack of carefully crafted folk-tinged indie rock.

"We like creating songs where every note and every lyric is carefully considered, but we also like embracing the accidental stuff. We like to make songs that have a familiar warmth before bringing the listener with us to darker places. Then we use melody and humour to keep the listener there forever! Ha! but yeah we’re just a rock band making the kind of music we would want to listen to. We live for those floaty moments when a song begins to magic into life," says David Marron.

After Marron's previous band Sanzkrit ground to a halt, Marron found himself trying to fill a void by playing guitar in a few bandss DJing, doing graphic design for bands and running an Arts Festival. Even though he was keeping busy in creative fields, he felt he was still ignoring a big and important part of himself. He notes, "Music was solely personal therapy for dealing with difficulty. It wasn’t something I really felt like sharing at that time.”

For David and Friendmaker, it would take a global pandemic and an unsold car to get back on track, diving deeper into music with the isolation of the lockdowns spurring him to be more social in his creativity. But he was also faced with a fateful choice: "In early 2020, I had saved a few quid to upgrade my car. If lockdown hadn’t happened, I definitely would’ve changed my car and I don’t think any of this new material would exist. Thankfully the money I had saved for a car was instead invested in proper recording equipment and so, over six months, I built a studio and began writing and recording. New ideas flowed seamlessly. The new environment was inspiring and the songs kept coming. I was writing the best music I had ever written and you’ll be glad to know my car is still hanging on too, but just.”

On the video, Marron notes, "I used the lyrical themes as a jumping-off point for a tangential narrative. We’re introduced to a confused character, confronted by two temptress figures inspired by the Selkies & Sirens of Celtic Folklore. In this context, they represent opposing poles of thought, the left brain, the right brain, certainty and doubt, the proverbial two paths. Our character is drawn to sea as his mind dances in thought between harmony and chaos. He seeks control of the inner turmoil and through that journey realises as he nears his point of breaking that it is the very obsession of control that errs his equilibrium and that it is in the actual relinquishment of authority that he finds an inner peace….. for now anyway. At the end we leave our protagonist where we first met him. He knows similar difficulties may lie ahead but experience will leave him better prepared for battle.”

On March 3rd, ‘You, Me & Everything Else’ will be released via the band's own imprint House of Strange Vinyl and will be available everywhere digitally, including Bandcamp.

Irish electronic duo Telefis (Cathal Coughlan & Jacknife Lee) release debut 'a hAon' album

"There’s something about the meeting of Jacknife Lee’s carefully constructed musical arrangements with Cathal Coughlan’s sonorous vocals that makes for one of the most potent listens my ears have heard for some time” - Electronic Sound

"Dense, acerbically observed lyrics are delivered in Coughlan’s distinctive baritone over Lee’s backdrops, from sparsely atmospheric synths to bass-driven electro-funk" - The Irish Times

“…an enthralling, entertaining union of skillful retro-electro and cuttingly cynical, mischievous surreal declarations” - MOJO

“Telefís blend cultural celebration, satire, the splintered identity of the Irish diaspora, and historical introspection to – what else? Electronic dance music!” - Post-Punk

"As stunning as the best of Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem... big sound and vision" ~ The Spill Magazine

Electronic mavericks and ex-pat Irish iconoclasts Telefís have released their debut album 'a hAon' (Number One), a highly unique collection of 13 tracks, via Dimple Discs.

Telefís (the Irish Gaelic word for Television, pronounced Tele-feesh) is a collaboration between in-demand composer/mixer/producer Garret "Jacknife" Lee (U2, R.E.M., Modest Mouse, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Crystal Castles, Editors) and singer-lyricist-composer Cathal Coughlan (Microdisney, Fatima Mansions and many acclaimed solo works). Having known each other vaguely in Ireland's early 80s post-punk scene, Jacknife is now based in L.A. and Cathal, a native of Cork, lives in London. A timely re-introduction by a mutual friend led to the two spending 2020 trading ideas and musical files during lockdown, hatching plans for a satirical, mischievous examination of Irish history and the pop culture of their lifetimes, which the two have labelled .."a corrosive nostalgia".

A series of remarkable singles and remixes, starting with the electro-funk monster 'We Need' EP in mid-2021 and followed by 'Mister Imperator', see Coughlan and Lee de-construct the Ireland of their youth through the prism of politics, technology and religion. Complemented by arcane imagery and 60s/70s video footage that are both playfully ironic and endearingly melancholic, these singles have set the table for one of year’s most intriguing and adventurous debut albums.

This album follows the release of their 'Falun Gong Dancer EP' with legendary post-punk bass maestro Jah Wobble (Public Image Limited, Invaders Of The Heart), in which Jacknife Lee transforms a disarmingly quiet and reflective song with vocals and ghostly piano chords into a deep-dub odyssey with Wobble’s signature low-end bass runs anchoring crisp percussion and panoramic space-echo effects.

On their work together as Telefís, Cathal Coughlan observes, "Collaborating in this way with a dynamic and consummate artist, who has access to a wide range of skills which I don't have, but with whom I share many common interests and cultural/historical reference points, has been one of the highlights of my creative life. It's made me so glad that I've been able to remain active for long enough to see something like this happen. Easily as spontaneous and full of surprises as any in-person collaboration, it’s shaken loose many weird and hopefully wonderful things in my verbal workshop. And nobody has heard me use my voice in some of these ways before now, either."

Jacknife Lee adds: "I'd just finished mangling a Luke Haines and Peter Buck record. Luke knows Cathal and re-introduced us. On the first or second correspondence we thought we should make some music together. Music is probably the only way I can properly communicate with someone. I sent Cathal the backing track that would become "We Need" and he sent me back the vocal and we went back and forth from there. Lockdowns and travel restrictions forced us to work remotely, and I think helped us get to where we got so quickly. Cathal is without doubt one of the finest lyricists of our time and writes like no one else. Some of the vocals he sent over made me burst out laughing with giddiness and delight at the novelty of them. Mischievous, dark, arcane, crispy fresh, and always unexpected. Every song with a backstory that could be a novel. This is easily the most enjoyable and rewarding music that I've been involved with.”

Part celebration, part satire, Telefís is an exploration of nostalgia as experienced in the present day, by natives of what was formerly a culturally sealed-off small country on the very fringes of Europe. It also points a critical finger at today’s global hierarchies, an inspiration for the strange characters and caricatures that spring from Coughlan's fertile imagination. Stark forms of imagery, bizarre to the modern eye and ear but treated as routine in the pre-globalization world, are pushed at the listener and viewer. On the musical side, Jacknife Lee uses his extensive sonic palette to create an irresistible mix of cinematic instrumentals and electro-funk backdrops full of melodic, squelchy synths and thunderous bass-lines, often with a cheeky nod to electro-pop history.

As of March 4, the 'a hAon' album will be available on CD and Vinyl, both with two-sided lyric sheet insert, as well as across digital platforms. Physical orders are available at https://ffm.to/telefisahaon and the digital album can be ordered at https://orcd.co/telefisahaon. U.S. orders can be placed at http://ffm.to/telefisusa.

FAMYNE Release New Single "Once More"

New Album 'The Ground Below' Out May 13th

UK Doom trailblazers FAMYNE have released another new offering from their upcoming album. The band's new single, titled "Once More", is out today on streaming platforms. It's the second track released from the band's heart-rending new album, 'The Ground Below', which will see a May 13th, 2022 release via Svart Records. Speaking about the new song, the band comments:

'Once More' is about a person's daily trials and the means by which they find escape; something of a 'Covid tune'. It originally came from a simple melody played over a riff, spawning a freestyle jam in which almost the entire song was born spontaneously. It just spilled out of us. In the months that followed, it then had to be finished remotely due to all of England going into the first lockdown. The song is a departure for us in terms of style, but we truly enjoyed its process of creation."

Stream "Once More" Here

Pre-Order 'The Ground Below'

'The Ground Below' is a brave and inimitable statement that re-draws a line in the sands of Metal tradition. Famyne boldly marches over the limits, re-riffing the rules, washing listeners in pristine waves of hypnotic melody on 8 tablets of stone-carved ageless songs that “The Ground Below” lays on the altar. Tracks like For My Sins and Babylon conjure paragon English Doom with a long line of lineage like country-mates Warning, Paradise Lost, Pagan Altar, and Cathedral to songs like A Submarine where warm oceans of sweeping guitars and wide-screen desperate euphony bring to mind

genre-changing pioneers like Anathema and Porcupine Tree.

Mind-blowing Lead vocalist Tom Vane’s omnipotent vocals deliver the shivers in dynamite doses, unearthing perfect hair-raising emotions that are at once timeless and freshly captivating. It is an understatement to acknowledge how exceptionally unforgettable Famyne’s distinct voice is. The guitars of Martin Emmons and Tom Ross range from an Iommi masterclass to Åkerfeldt progression in a heartbeat, delivering breath-taking riff-mountains that are sumptuously original and catchy in both style and opulent panache. It

is Famyne’s canny confidence to re-mold traditional Doom metal artistry with their own wave of emotive progression that makes “The Ground Below” a brilliant restoration of the craft, reminding us how crushing and poignant innovative Doom Metal can be if done with passion. Fans of everything from Opeth, Katatonia to Soundgarden and all the trad legends of Sabbath, St Vitus, and Solitude Aeturnus will be suitably wowed in Famyne’s wake. “The Ground Below” is a modern classic, reverential but so supremely powerful that Famyne have securely carved their own place on the monoliths of the future.

FORTUNE CHILD Official Music Video for "Don't Shoot Me Down," and New Album, 'Close to the Sun'

Debut Album, Close to the Sun, Out NOW!

Jacksonville, FL based Rock band FORTUNE CHILD has the official music video for "Don't Shoot Me Down". Directed by McSlammany, "Don't Shoot Me Down" is the fourth and final single from the band's KEVIN ELSON produced, debut album, Close to the Sun.

“This album is everything we believe in: no fluff, no extras, just the music. We tracked the whole record live because that’s how we feel our music is best received. There’s something undeniable about a live performance and we wanted to capture that to our best ability.” - FORTUNE CHILD

Purchase / Stream 'Close to the Sun' Online!

It's no secret that these North Florida natives respect their Rock 'N' Roll elders. It's the true feel of the 70's (bell bottoms, mustaches and all) but with a touch of modern flair. Having just formed in 2021, Fortune Child (Christian Powers / vocals, Buddy Crump / lead guitar, Melanie Jo / drums, Jon Ward / bass) has quickly garnered the support of the Southeast US Rock 'N' Roll scene and will continue to do so with each passing day. These cats know how to rock, and it seems that there's no stopping them once those first notes rip through the air.

For 2022, the band has partnered with legendary rock producer Kevin Elson(JourneyMr. BigEuropeLynyrd Skynyrd) to produce their full length debut album, Close to the Sun, due in early March. Their first single, "Far", is already well on its way, having found its own rightful spot on Yahoo! News and has gathered press coverage in countries as far away as Australia and Russia. It even got a good old-fashioned thumbs up from Billy Gibbons himself and has turned the heads of some of the industry's heaviest hitters. This sort of thing leads us all to wonder: What could come next for this brand new Rock 'N' Roll freight train?

THE BIG DEAL RELEASE DEBUT SINGLE 'NEVER SAY NEVER'

DEBUT ALBUM COMING THIS SPRING VIA FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL

Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to present the debut single of original material from Serbian hard rockers The Big Deal! 'Never Say Never' is now available on all music streaming platforms and the music video can be seen below. The Big Deal, featuring two outstanding vocalists, Ana Nikolic and Nevena Brankovic (who is also a highly skilled keyboard/piano player), offers up a catchy, driving sound that will appeal to both melodic rock and hard rock fans.

Stream/download 'Never Say Never' HERE: https://orcd.co/neversay

'Never Say Never' serves as an appetizer for the band's upcoming debut album, composed by the team of guitarist Srdjan and keyboardist Nevena, which will be released this spring. Stay tuned for more news on that soon!

The Big Deal first came together when guitarist, composer, and producer Srdjan and keyboardist Nevena, who is an academic pianist and singer, started working with singer Ana Nikolic. Ana had spent the past few years fronting local bands, but after meeting Srdjan and Nevena, they started collaborating in the studio together on some songs. While working on some new ideas, Srdjan thought it would be interesting to include Ana's vocals in addition to Nevena's in the recordings they were working on. After a couple of songs were finished, they were overjoyed with the results and thus some of The Big Deal's first demos were born. These would eventually morph into the music that was presented to Frontiers and ultimately got them signed. To round out the lineup, the band brought in drummer Marko Milojevic and later, Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Revolution Saints) on bass (who was instrumental in introducing the band to the label).

Both Srdjan and Marko are members of the most successful Serbian progressive metal band, Alogia. Throughout his career, Srdjan has played on many festivals and tours, recorded and collaborated on countless studio and live albums, and opened for some well-known bands such as Whitesnake, Ian Paice, Apocalyptica, Savatage, and more. He was also a member of Michael Matijevic's live band in Bulgaria. On his “Expedition Delta” and “Alogia” albums, he collaborated with names such as Tim 'Ripper' Owens, Mark Boals, Erik Norlander, Gary Wehrkamp, Fabio Lione, and Hansi Kursch, among others.

To introduce themselves to the world, over the course of 2021, the band released covers of songs by Europe, Nightwish, and ABBA as a pre-cursor to debuting their original music. See those videos below.

THE METAL TWINS DIANTHUS RELEASE THEIR LONG AWAITED SOPHOMORE ALBUM “REALMS”

THE METAL TWINS DIANTHUS JUST RELEASED THEIR LONG AWAITED SOPHOMORE ALBUM “REALMS” THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT AND CAUGHT THE ATTENTION OF LEGENDARY DRUMMER CARMINE APPICE.
Dianthus has just released their brand new album “Realms” which was produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Symphony X, Butcher Babies, etc.) and it includes 12 new songs including the stand out tracks “Realms” and “A Space In The Silence”. The album recently caught the ear of legendary drummer Carmine Appice who comments, “These Two Females Rock! Love their vocals and their voices. Great look and killer songs, Check them out!!”

Jackie and Jessica had this to say about the release, “Realms” is our second full-length studio album. The sound on this record can be described as a synergy of elegant and aggressive musicality. Our love of classical piano, modern rock, and progressive metal blend together and serve as the soundtrack to the record’s concept. “Realms” is also the story of a sisterhood journey through a mystical fantasy world, which is soon to be further explored through various mediums (a comic book and more are in the works). This album is sure to make its mark on the comic book world and music scene alike.”

They had originally previewed the tracks “Realms” and “Creeping In” during the height of the pandemic in 2020 and the lead-off single “Realms” quickly gained the attention of press and fans alike.

“Dianthus just released their new single "Realms" and it's probably going to get stuck in your head. The duo employ soaring guitar melodies, perfectly grounded drums, and excellent vocal hooks through the track for an overall killer experience.”
Metal Injection

Deko Entertainment is also excited as president Bruce Pucciarello explains, “Watching J&J weave their creativity into Realms has been a pandemic highlight for all of us. Every song is catchy, layered and textured, recorded and mixed by Steve Evetts and mastered by Steve DeAcutis. Some of the best talent in the industry is invested in making sure Realms delivers a full dose of what the twins are capable of. It’s all here.”
