The seeds of NEW HORIZON were planted in Jona’s youth given that he grew up listening to (and still loves) Iron Maiden, Helloween, Hammerfall, Manowar, Edguy, and the like. Heavy metal is in his blood and New Horizon is something that is flowing through his veins and extremely close to his heart. He always dreamed of releasing his own power metal anthems one day. When asked about the sound of New Horizon, Jona Tee describes it as "a mix between classic power and heavy metal, with a touch of 2021.”
The initial idea for New Horizon, at first, was to have several lead vocalists perform on the album; however, that changed when Erik Gronwall came to the studio to record two songs for the album. Despite Erik having recently departed H.E.A.T, both guys felt the need to continue working together. The songs Jona had written for the debut New Horizon album were 'a match made in hell' for Erik’s voice. Since he is an insanely versatile singer who could give the project a more band-like feel, Jona knew he was the man for the job. Sharing Jona's passions for the genre, Erik gladly joined NEW HORIZON and delivered the vocal beast that lay inside him to bring Jona's power metal vision to life. With the recording of those two initial songs, they started brainstorming and visualizing a future together under the banner of New Horizon...and they liked what they heard and saw.
“It felt so natural to continue working together. We have toured together pretty much all over the world and released music together for a decade. Jona is truly like my brother, by blood, and New Horizon will be the catalyst for us to release great metal together and just have fun,” says Grönwall.

About ARKAIK:
Arkaik is a progressive death metal band hailing from Northern California. Formed in 2004 by Jared Christianson and Chance Strickland, Arkaik was born within the blossoming Bay Area Tech-Death scene that would soon influence many of today’s popular bands. September wakes up in each timeline within the Monster Rehab with the monsters looking down at her, angry and hungry for her soul. Fate has taken all of theirs and told them to destroy her.

Upon becoming a duo due to former bassist Simon Forsberg departing the band in early 2021, OH HIROSHIMA were provided a challenging chance to step up their songwriting game. There is still a hefty dose of post-rock to be heard on Myriad, but brothers Jakob Hemström and Oskar Nilsson managed to kick down the creative walls of the band, making use of a much broader musical palette.

Cocteau Twins legend ROBIN GUTHRIE marks 60th birthday by releasing 'Springtime' EP
Following the late 2021 releases of the 'Mockingbird Love' EP, the full-length album 'Pearldiving' and the 'Riviera' EP, the new year brings yet another new release by legendary Scottish music sculptor Robin Guthrie.
On January 4th, exactly sixty years after his birth, Guthrie is releasing his 'Springtime' EP via his Soleil Après Minuit imprint with distribution in North America via Darla and in Europe by Cargo. These four new titles were recorded in the summer of 2021, soon after completing 'Pearldiving', his first album in nine years.
'Springtime' is a standalone collection featuring Guthrie’s ever present signature sound and atmosphere. His approach to music is perhaps more akin to that of a painter or a photographer. The adept use of light and shade, melody and counter melody, the carefully and precisely arranged instrumentation, musical textures and colorings gives his music a depth and level of detail which marks a master craftsman.
Guthrie comments, “After 'Pearldiving', I thought about taking a break as my release schedule has been a bit excessive of late, but I took some time in the studio and got very quickly focused on this as my first release for the new year. Spring is an important time for me. Often it’s time to prepare for what’s to come. It can represent new growth. It can also be a good excuse to use a great photo of some springs that I had taken”.
40 years on from founding Cocteau Twins, Robin Guthrie has certainly been its most prolific member, offering a steady and stellar stream of material over the years. His film scores include Gregg Araki's ‘Mysterious Skin’ and ‘White Bird in a Blizzard’, co-written with long-time collaborator Harold Budd. His many other collaborators include John Foxx, Mark Gardener, Telefon Tel-Aviv, Eraldo Bernocchi and Jay Jay Johanson.
Last year, Guthrie released 'Another Flower' with Harold Budd just a few days before Budd's untimely passing. His recent credits as a producer and remixer include Heligoland, Jack Colwell, Resplandor, Ummagma, Fawns of Love, Hatchie and Tamaryn.
'Springtime' is available on CD, as well as digitally on all major platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where it can already be obtained directly from Guthrie himself.

Åskväder are back with the first new music since their 2020 self-titled debut album. The electrifying Swedish band combines the sound of the 90s Scandinavian rock scene with a classic blues-rock approach on their brand new single ”When We Fall”, which is out now on all streaming platforms. The lyrics of the song are describing the inevitable ruin of mankind. To be stuck in apathy facing the abyss. The song was named after a band that our old bass player Staffan Persson had in his 20's as a tribute to him. The awesome riff that gets the song started is something we are especially proud of.

Electrifying Swedish rockers Åskväder makes thunder and lightning through music. While capturing some of the influences from the legends of our time such as The Hellacopters and Turbonegro Åskväder manages to stay in their own lane, creating their own style of rock for a new decade.
Hailing from the west coast of Sweden, Åskväder released their debut EP ”Quick Fixes” in 2018. In 2020 the band joined forces with The Sign Records for the release of their debut, self-titled studio album. In 2022 Åskväder returned with their second full-length effort, ”Fenix”. The new album takes the Åskväder sound heard on the debut album to a new level. Mixed by Kalle Lilja & Per Stålberg (Welfare Sounds), which truly put an intense vibe to the album.

Directed by Jarrad James and premiered on Ghost Cult Magazine, "Recrimination" features Scotty Fitzz and is off of the band's upcoming LP, Electric Thunder, recorded with Geoff Piller and mastering by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering (BLACK KEYS, GHOST, ARCTIC MONKEYS, Dr John). Cause and effect, effect and cause. Crime itself is often a byproduct of the environment created for the repeat offender by the Systems of Law. In this downbeat driven, fuzzed out dystopian Robin Hood tale, we follow a criminal locked in battle against recidivism. In a landscape of survival, it asks you what you would be willing to do. It asks you to take a walk in another man’s shoes, for when you point one finger, three point back at you.
Hell-bent on pushing the sonic envelope, Nashville rockers Voltagehawk quickly set a ground rule that “NO” was never welcome in the creative space.

CANDLELIGHT RED released their new single "THE FLOOD" to all major platforms via IMAGEN RECORDS today! This will be their first single off of their forthcoming EP, also titled THE FLOOD.
The Flood marks the band's first release since 2013 and features Morgan Rose (Sevendust)producing as well as playing drums on the record. It was recorded by Jose Urquiza (3 Years Hollow), mixed by Jay Ruston & Jose Urquiza and mastered by Andy Van Dette.
After an unofficial hiatus since 2014, Candlelight Red entered the studio in East Moline Illinois with Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose, who not only once again produced the band but collaborated on writing and filling drumming duties on the record.

NORTHTALE is an international five-piece Power Metal band that was formed in 2017 by guitarist Bill Hudson (DORO, TSO, ex-U.D.O), who was initially writing songs for a solo album. Drummer Patrick Johansson (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen/W.A.S.P), keyboardist Jimmy Pitts, bassist Mikael Planefeldt and former singer Christian Eriksson (ex-TWILIGHT FORCE) joined during the demo stages when a decision was made to turn the project into a full-time band. New Jersey Rockers BLACK WAIL Release New EP 'Dead Mountain'
Today, Jersey City’s BLACK WAIL have released their second EP of 2021, Dead Mountain (Rhyme and Reason Records). This release, the band’s fifth, was recorded and produced by Mike Moebius (Kings Destroy, Pilgrim) at Moonlight Mile Studios, who they last worked with on their 2014’s self-titled debut EP.
“This record is definitely on the darker side with all the down-tuned guitar goodness lovers of heavy music will enjoy,” says vocalist/guitarist Michael Tarlazzi of the release.
The opening track, “Staring at the Sun” is a trashy banger that transitions into a spacey guitar-y jam before ramping back up into a super heavy crescendo. The second song and title track, “Dead Mountain” is a slow and heavy stoner jam that sees guitarist Ed
Charreun and Tarlazzi trade fuzzed-out solos for nine minutes. It’s also the band’s first such track. “Hot Seat 2020” is a re-recorded visit to a Black Wail live staple, while the final track, “The Frigate”, is a story song about old-timey sailors meeting their demise.
Black Wail formed in Jersey City in early 2014 when Tarlazzi, then best known as a drummer or guitarist, decided to front his own band to draw on his influences of metal, punk, psych, stoner, and classic rock; playing guitar as well as handling vocals for the first time. After recruiting Susan Lutin on bass and Bram Teitelman on keys, the lineup solidified with the addition of guitarist Ed Charreun and drummer Felipe Torres, who also play in the sludge/noise trio Twin God. Dead Mountain, the quintet’s fifth EP, follows Born On Fire from earlier this year, and was produced by Mike Moebius (Kings Destroy, Pilgrim)

On the now released Memento Mori FEUERSCHWANZ finally make the step away from the simpler humor of earlier days, to one of the most important bands in German Folk-Rock!
With chanting violin playing, Memento Mori starts its heroic journey with its eponymous opener. The song turns out to be a melodic rock anthem with a well-known medieval character, a blazing guitar riff and life-affirming lyrics. On "Untot im Drachenboot", the squad around Captain Feuerschwanz sets off for new musical shores in a Viking ship full of undead warriors. "Rausch der Barberei", on the other hand delivers a violent, raw voice and driving drumming that send its listeners into unbridled frenzy. On "Krampus", FEUERSCHWANZsing in a canon of vocals and instruments about the ancient legend of the demonic companion of St. Nicholas, who is dressed in fur and a horned mask. On the ballad "Das Herz eines Drachen" (The Heart of a Dragon), the medieval folk rockers show their sensible side. In a fire lit by burning guitar sounds and flute melodies, a warrior mourns his fallen father with his head held high. "Hannibal" on the other hand embarks on a raging battle of powerful choirs, swirling violin and guitar solos and driving drums, led by army commander Hannibal. The crowning finale of the almost 40-minute adventure is provided by "Skaldenmet" with its proudly advancing bass.
In typical FEUERSCHWANZ manner, Memento Mori is about great adventures, past battles and outstanding heroic deeds. FEUERSCHWANZ manage to stay true to their trademarks and at the same time venture into new musical realms. Fans of the band can look forward to an extensive deluxe edition of the album, which extends the running time of Memento Moriby almost double! Two additional CDs feature instrumental versions of all eleven tracks as well as the cover CD Die Glorreichen Sieben (The Magnificent Seven), which includes seven epic reissues from Amon Amarth to Die Ärzte and The Weeknd.

Songs like “Your Star Has Led You Astray” or “Born With a Broken Heart” easily manage to keep the balance between harsh vocals, the distorted sound of fuzz guitars and an overall dark atmosphere that LORD OF THE LOST is known for, whilst “Death Is Just a Kiss Away”, “My Constellation” and closing “Work of Salvation”, for example, put grand piano tunes, authentic strings and the sound of a massive organ recorded in a church in the most suitable focus.
JUDAS marks the successor of chart-breaking Thornstar (2018, #6 GER), and again breathes the innovative spirit of five musicians who are far away from setting boundaries into their very own unique art.
