Call Me Karizma Announces 2022 Tour Dates

Genre-blending rock and rap artist Call Me Karizma has today announced a full US tour coming in Spring 2022. Fresh off the heels of his successful Bleached Serpent Tour, fans across the nation will soon have their chance to catch Karizma's high-energy, in-your-face swagger onstage in his upcoming Bleached Serpent Part II Tour kicking off on Saturday, February 19 in Fort Collins, CO. In addition, fans should keep an eye out for the official music video for the crowd-favorite track "Delinquents" dropping on Monday, 12/6 (out via Thriller Records). Speaking on the news, Karizma shares:

"Delinquents is a song about my role as a leader of misfit toys. If you’ve ever come to one of my concerts, you will see every type of person imaginable in the crowd. And I take pride in bringing them all together with my music. We are the delinquents.

The first Bleached Serpent Tour was such a success that I figured I needed to do another round of it before I drop my album in the summer. Here’s to another tour filled with sweaty. rage-filled rooms."

Bob Becker, founder of Thriller Records, also commented on Karizma:

"I have been a big fan of Call Me Karizma for a few years now and I was excited to jump at the opportunity to work with him. The only challenge is trying to keep up with his energy and work ethic, this kid's motor is always running. He has the ability to continually craft some amazing songs that really hit the mark with his fans, we have only seen a glimpse of his full potential!"

Call Me Karizma also recently released "Black Leather (Remix)" by enigmatic EDM producer/DJ IZKO. Check out the teaser for the Bleached Serpent Part II Tour here or at the link below, and be sure to stay tuned for more Call Me Karizma news coming soon.

Call Me Karizma is the voice of the unheard and outcasts. Having been newly signed to Thriller Records (a new label founded by Bob Becker, the mastermind and founder of world-renowned alternative rock label Fearless Records) and blending influences of rock, hip-hop, pop, and punk, Karizma does not shy away from storytelling, covering topics on mental health, politics, and relationships. In late 2020 he released his first album 'To Hell With Hollywood' as an independent artist. Without a manager or record label, he charted on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Charts. WITHERED Kicks Off U.S. Tour, Announces Signature Distortion Pedal

Tortured blackened death metal machine WITHERED will be embarking on a U.S. tour in support of BLOOD INCANTATION and PRIMITIVE MAN with an already sold out show on Saturday, December 4 in Chicago, IL! The trek will conclude on December 19 in Cambridge, MA. The full run of dates can be found below! Tickets are available now and can be found HERE.

WITHERED is touring in support of their brand new record, 'Verloren,' which is out now! To further celebrate the release, the band will play the album in its entirety at both Brooklyn dates at Saint Vitus. Download, buy, or stream the album HERE.

In addition, WITHERED is now revealing a signature distortion pedal! Guitarist Mike Thompson has teamed up with Michael Klein Audio Design out of Kansas City, MO to build a signature distortion pedal named “Husk,” which is designed for all the tone stackers out there.

Thompson explains, “I’ve been crafting my tone for two decades now. Our knack for style hopping provides unique tonal challenges for me. I need crushing lows for the huge riffs and clarity during blasting grind and black metal passages. It gets really tricky and has been a battle. I’ve chipped away at getting the best of both for years and it resulted in an amalgam of unorthodox gear combinations. I’ve had a design in mind for years to combine everything into one cohesive pedal but never the time to realize it. Mentioning this Sammy Duet (Acid Bath, Goatwhore) resulting in an introduction to Michael Klein. It turns out Michael is quite familiar with Withered’s studio tones. We discussed the ideas and he was very confident in nailing down my ideas. He picked the name ‘Husk’ after a song on 'Grief Relic,' which was the first time my 'realized tone' was recorded in purity, without tricks. Husk is everything I’d hoped for and then some. I call it my ‘Swede-ish’ tone. You get a bit of that chainsaw mid scoop that’s usable across all heavy endeavors without being a 1 trick pony.”

Thompson also designed the cosmetics himself, combining a vintage military feel with an ethereal/mystic graphics to capture the “moods” of the pedal.

Husk Features:

  • Selectable “then” (NOS Japanese 1S1588) and “now” clipping diodes to choose between saturation used on older Withered albums and newer albums.

  • The bottom row of knobs are a circuit inspired by the classic MIJ DS-1 with high quality/low tolerance components - precision metal film resistors, WIMA caps, MLCC caps, and Nichicon Fine Gold capacitors supporting a Toshiba TA7136P Opamp.

  • The top row is Thompson’s collection of “do my bidding” controls: a clean blend to pepper in some clarity without losing gain, an output boost to keep the dirty tone louder than “pedal off” tone no matter how much you scoop the mids, and a no-fucks-given low pass filter to tame the nastiness however you like.

  • 2 different colored “on” LED’s for a “military control panel” look and max visibility on stage.

ICYMI: Artist Paul Romano (MASTODON, HATE ETERNAL, etc.) gave an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the unique album art for 'Verloren!' Both Romano and WITHERED vocalist/guitarist Mike Thompson give in-depth interviews about the concept, working together, and more in this detailed article, which is accompanied by an exclusive video clip and photos! Check it out via Heaviest of Art at THIS LOCATION.

From its inception, WITHERED has been an outlier, a perplexing charge of extremity which the metal scene has never been able to put its finger on.

“We want to compound new elements into every album,” posits guitarist/vocalist Mike Thompson, “and we’re definitely a band for metal nerds. Our audience seems to be the old-schoolers who are absorbed by this stuff every day and jaded folks of a certain age. Industry types and peers tend to get it, but that’s about it.”

Thompson’s self deprecating assessment of his creative output might be part gentlemanly humility talking or a harshly realistic take on WITHERED’s cult status, or somewhere in between, but with an impressive body of work fanned out over the course of 18 years and five albums which have weathered as many trends, the Atlanta quartet continues to confound and refuses to compromise. New album, Verloren is the band’s most daring and iconoclastic work yet, one that spits in the eye of complacency and exists as a contrarian masterstroke.

Originally formed by Thompson and ex-guitarist/vocalist Chris Freeman in 2003 following a spell in local grind institution Social Infestation (alongside Mastodon’s Troy Sanders), WITHERED’s initial goal was to re-write black, doom and death metal modes and mores. To that end, the band has achieved that goal as their sound and aesthetic refuses to clearly state which subgenre they call home. Over the course of its history, WITHERED has generated more questions than answers about who they are and what they do. They’ve toured with the varied likes of Mastodon, High on Fire, Dismember, Grave, Vital Remains, Possessed, Watain, Mayhem, 1349, Krallice, Skeletonwitch and Danzig. Their live show provides an air of never-know-what-you’re-gonna-get mystery. See them on one occasion and it’s a DIY kick in the gut with stripped down, rehearsal room bareness appropriately complementing the lunacy. The next time they get in the van they’ll do so accompanied by rigged up columns of light cloaking the stage in bloody reds and searing whites. And with Verloren, the band’s forthcoming fifth album, Thompson and his band mates – drummer Beau Brandon, bassist Rafay Nabeel and fellow guitarist/vocalist Dan Caycedo – continue to nudge both thematic and sonic goalposts by providing relatable food for thought while retaining the adversarial fire that has powered the engine since the start.

“There’s a philosophical introspective approach to the subject matter that informs our writing style. We’re trying to create an atmosphere that complements the themes and that’s something we’re trying to circle back around to on Verloren.”

WITHERED’s first album, 2005’s Memento Mori, generally speaking, tackled the subject of mortality and the grieving process that follows significant loss, trauma and tragedy. Album number two, 2008’s Folie Circulaire was, as Thompson describes, “more existentialist, nihilistic and Nietzsche-ian” while 2010’s Dualities was an exploration of Jungian psychology and the shadow self. As alluded to in the title, 2016’s Grief Relic started into the U-turn back towards the exploration of the role and impact of grief as the men of WITHERED themselves entered that stage of life in which older family members, friends and childhood heroes were passing away, expectedly and otherwise. Five years on, Verloren rounds out the turn with a sinister sound and an area of study more akin to a deep therapy/counseling session instead of the usual gore and lore that often emboldens extreme music.

“Rafay wanted to use the theme of ‘missing’,” explains Thompson, “which was broad and abstract, so I dialed it down to be more about this outlook I’ve developed over the years about how each of us have a ‘Love Well.’ Every bit of love you get from your parents, your upbringing and your learning how to receive and experience love in relationships and through experiences contributes to the well. Your traumas counterbalance that and take away from it, especially when foundational core elements take a hit, like the untimely loss of a parent. That’s one of life’s unique puzzle pieces and when that piece is removed it’s never going to be replaced.

“We’re equipped with a certain capacity – our wells are filled to a certain level – and when you start getting smacked with traumas, whatever you have in that well - your defense mechanisms - can get worn down pretty quickly, especially for someone who has never really known love because of a broken home, difficult relationships or whatever. Each one of us in WITHERED carry unique traumas that we’ve focused this new record on. For me, most of my significant losses are from older wounds that I’ve dealt with through WITHERED from the very beginning, but with this being the first album with Dan and Rafay, it’s like a new exercise for them to really focus on the things they’ve been carrying around.”

Verloren translates to “missing” from German and relates not just to the friends, family and pieces of the member’s lives and hearts that have, and will go, missing as the time ticks on unfettered, but also, in the face of the global pandemic, just how much the activity of being in a band has been missed by everyone who took the write/record/tour cycle for granted. Verloren demonstrates a topical uniqueness; one that discusses the stuff everyone from the steeliest of black metal cape wearers to the gore-obsessed death metal crushers and everyone playing in a band or not has had to - or will have to - confront at some point. By leveling the elitist playing field so often found in extreme metal underground attitudes, Verloren offers a more holistic experience, elevating WITHERED by being unafraid to discuss topics that fly in the face of what most would connect to the sounds they make.

“About two years before I started WITHERED,” Thompson recalls, “I went through a series of traumas where I was forced to take stock of and define my foundational ‘puzzle pieces’ that could be taken away and what the trauma and grief is going to look like when I lose close family and/or friends I truly care about. Ironically, one I didn’t face until recently was WITHERED. No one ever thought that not being able to play shows or tour because of a pandemic was even feasible. I processed the idea of losing WITHERED and playing music and touring and everything else around the time of Grief Relic when two guys quit the band and I lost a lot of steam and inspiration. Luckily, Beau was there to kick my ass and shake me out of it. When it comes to this album, there was an initial suffering of anxiety because of the uncertainty in the world and the fear of losing this album because we put a lot into it, are super proud of it and it is the best WITHERED album yet. It’s important for my inspiration and motivation to go forward. It takes so much effort for us to create a record, the thought of it for it to all be for naught or potentially be wasted just destroys me.

“Surprisingly, we haven’t had a lot of push back on these themes, though I would love to take on that conflict!” he laughs. “For most people, metal is purely aesthetic, a grandstanding ‘f-you!’ to society and an adolescent rebellion kind of thing. But at the same time, we do get positive feedback from the people who have looked a bit deeper and done some research. We just want to be honest. We used to make the joke when we go out on tour, especially in the early days when deathcore was all the rage and we’d be on these weird package bills, that ‘Hey, we’re WITHERED and we’re here to bum you out.’ We’re not a party band or a shock band so you don’t get the fun aspect from us when going to a show. I’ve always been frustrated that we’ve never been able to communicate our super-realism and the different perspectives of life. If I want to sing about how much gratitude I have for my mother in a roundabout way, then whatever, we’ll do it!”

As WITHERED enters its third decade, they’ve drawn a more insular and conclusive line in the sand. The band has forged further forward with the process of eschewing typicality, including not utilizing any of the usual producer suspects to help sculpt Verloren. Instead, they flew the flag of independence by again going down the route of self-production with Thompson himself taking the bull by its horns.

“We get a little bit more deliberate every time around and starting with Grief Relic we decided not to hire anyone to help produce and filter it through a particular lens. We started self-producing and I kind of took the reins on that last time and more so this time and also when it came to selecting who was going to engineer [Raheen Amlani at Orange Peel Recordings], then mix [Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios] and master it [Jarrett Pritchard]. The trick is to find someone who loves Times of Grace as much as they love Clandestine and His Hero is Gone, Napalm Death and all the way out to later Enslaved and can balance all those things. If it’s truly honest and truly communicating the intention of a song, then it’ll be powerful, heavy and generate emotion.”

Verloren also revisits WITHERED’s traditional methodological step of sitting down and looking at the present state of metal before consciously lashing out against what’s taking up most of the broader public’s attention.

“We’re constantly looking for something new to do. We love genre bending and putting D-beats next to funereal riffs next to black metal blasts and heavy doom riffs and figuring out how to make it all work and make sense with whatever vibe we’re trying to nail down. For this one, I wanted to lean back into the funereal doom world. I got burnt out when doom – especially southern doom, being a southern band - was the word of the day around the time of our first two records. We basically ran in the other direction and got away from doing any full-on doom parts for a while. I wanted to come back around to that, so we went back to bigger stuff like My Dying Bride for the couple of eight minute epics on the album [album opener “By Tooth in Tongue” and closer “From Ashen Shores”]. Also, for the first time in my life and against my better judgment, I decided to write clean vocals and I’m singing on two songs. They’re kind of buried in the mix a little bit because I’m still self-conscious about them, but they were the only things that made sense for the parts we wrote. I tried to fight it, but nothing extreme was accomplishing the goal. On top of that, we go the other way where three of the songs have some super crusty and grind elements. Part of why I asked Dan to join the band was because I knew he would get the sludgy, crusty side of things and help me cultivate that better in WITHERED. On the album, ‘The Predation,’ ‘Dissolve’ and ‘Casting in Wait’ are his. Those would be the twists on this album because we’re always trying to write what we think is missing and what we want to hear in heavy music after sitting down and looking at the landscape of what’s out there.”

And despite being deliberate oppositional in the subject matter they choose to explore and express, how much of their hearts and souls they choose to strip bare for fickle crowds and grind against whatever current musical grain the rest are cruising along, the determination, seriousness and importance of WITHERED in each member’s lives hasn’t ebbed. In fact, it’s only been magnified with time and circumstance. Having been forced into a year off from normal band life has made it clear how vital WITHERED is for everything from creative expression, social networking, wanderlust, overall personal sanity and moving forward.

“Personally, I’m very, very fortunate with regards to my family and others being supportive and taking what I do seriously. Looking back, I could be really selfish and headstrong about music. My family got so used to it that they would volunteer to schedule dinners and family events around rehearsals and practice because they were able to glean how important this was to me and how seriously I took it. Even moving out into the real world with the professional realm of things and the jobs that we have had in order to keep this going, I’d say it’s taken more seriously now than ever. We’re constantly challenging ourselves to progress and carve our own path. WITHERED is a permanent part of my life, it’s what I expect to be there. I’ve built so much on it and I’ve somehow been able to weave it into my life to where it’s a defining part of me as well. This isn’t rock star fantasy camp, although the other weekend I was bored, missing travelling and sitting around so I took the band van out and just drove out for three hours, turned around and came home!”

Telefís (Jacknife Lee & Cathal Coughlan) present 'Falun Gong Dancer' single with video by Matt Mahurin (Peter Gabriel, U2, Tom Waits, REM, Tracy Chapman, Sting)

“Irish sensations Telefís, aka Cathal Coughlan and Jacknife Lee, blend cultural celebration, satire, the splintered identity of the Irish diaspora, and historical introspection to – what else? Electronic dance music!” – PostPunk.com

"This is actually a dancepop monster, channelling ‘Stop Making Sense’-era Talking Heads with acute contemporary social commentary" ~ Is This Music?

"The first offerings from these Irish music legends sounds as stunning as the best of Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem, to draw just two parallels. This project may be rooted in the insular cultural experience of a small country, but just watch them take the world by storm with this big sound and vision here and now" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Garret “Jacknife” Lee – the man who left punk guitar behind for the delights of big breaks like “Bursting Off The Backbeat” before finding his métier as an in-demand producer for U2, The Killers, Modest Mouse and more. He’s on record as saying that if he doesn’t make noise, he gets very grumpy; what mischief can the two of them be cooking up?” ~ Backseat Mafia

Producer/ mixer/ composer Garret "Jacknife" Lee (U2, R.E.M., Modest Mouse, The Cars, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Crystal Castles, Editors, Taylor Swift) and singer-songwriter Cathal Coughlan, frontman of Microdisney and The Fatima Mansions and acclaimed for his many solo works (including his latest solo album 'Song Of Co-Aklan’) present 'Falun Gong Dancer' - their new single under the moniker Telefís (the Irish Gaelic word for Television, pronounced Tele-feesh).

"Falun Gong Dancer' is the latest taste of their debut album 'a hAon' (Number One), which will be released on February 11 via London-based Dimple Discs, following up the 'Mister Imperator' EP, which includes the original version, the 'Mister Imperator (Dub Mix)' and two other remixes.

In contrast with the first two Telefís releases, 'Falun Gong Dancer' is a very stark arrangement, featuring a cyclical, meditative melody over dissolving piano chords and synth pulses, heard in episodic passages which take the listener on a tour of the world - from London, to the US-Mexico border, to the cities of Australasia - in the company of a hapless narrator. Occasional interludes of electronic harmony hint at either a tentative intimacy, or at an isolation which is final and absolute - it remains ambiguous.

"Each episode describes a further incident in his romantic pursuit of the dancer of the song's title, as he (over-?)identifies with her perceived struggles, and hopes to find common cause with her - for his own depleted condition to become their common cause, perhaps. Implicit is the narrator's ticking internal clock, which must surely count down to zero before long. Time is out of joint, and the narrator has been repelled by or expelled from his natural habitat, although we do not learn where his home is or was," says Cathal Coughlan.

The accompanying video was created by American illustrator, photographer, and film director Matt Mahurin (Peter Gabriel, U2, Tom Waits, REM, Tracy Chapman, Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Ice-T, Metallica, David Byrne, Joni Mitchell), who notes, "Just as a unique and powerful piece of music can transport the listener to new and thrilling emotional territory, to be given the opportunity to create the visuals for such a special song left me no choice but to discover images and inspiration that were unexpected yet timeless. The daring expanses of silence, yearning vocals, and compelling lyrics gave me the gift of exploring the essential of the earthly and the curiosity of the cosmic. It's an honor and joy to be trusted by Jacknife and Cathal to help them share their amazing music."

With Jacknife now based in Los Angeles and Cathal based in London, the two spent 2020 trading ideas and musical files during lockdown, hatching plans for a satirical, mischievous examination of Irish history and the pop culture of their lifetimes, what the two have labelled "a corrosive nostalgia".

On the musical side, Jacknife Lee uses his extensive sonic palette to create an irresistible mix of cinematic instrumentals and electro-funk backdrops full of melodic, squelchy synths and thunderous bass-lines, often with a cheeky nod to electro-pop history. He has also created remixes for such artists as Radiohead, U2, Blur, Run-DMC, Pink, Future Sound of London, Christina Aguilera, TLC, Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, The Raveonettes, Kraftwerk, New Order and Kasabian.

He explains: "Silence can cause tension. Even when recording the song, the pausing became both comforting and frustrating. When I listen to the song now I can’t help but try to alter time, trying to force the next line to come sooner, willing it earlier, but it doesn’t and won’t arrive when I expect it. It always comes a little bit late. I'm active in the space. When the line does come it’s soothing and beautiful but the lyric is complex and doesn’t resolve anything. And then the silence again. Is the song long? Is it short? It confuses my already recently disturbed perception of time."

The forthcoming 'a hAon' album includes 13 highly unique tracks - part celebration and part satire - in which Telefís explores nostalgia, as experienced in the present day, by natives of what was formerly a culturally sealed-off small country on Europe's very fringe. It also points a critical finger at today’s global hierarchies, an inspiration for the strange characters and caricatures that spring from Coughlan's fertile imagination. Stark forms of imagery, bizarre to the modern eye and ear but treated as routine in the pre-globalization world, are pushed at the listener and viewer.

On December 3, 'Falun Gong Dancer' will be available digitally across online stores and streaming platforms at https://orcd.co/telefisfalungongdancer. The 'a hAon' LP will be released on February 11 on CD and vinyl (both with a two-sided lyric sheet insert). Physical pre-orders are now available at https://ffm.to/telefisahaon and the digital release at https://orcd.co/telefisahaon.

Beauty In Chaos presents lush single 'The Kiss of the World' ft. Elena Alice Fossi (Kirlian Camera, Spectra Paris)

"Stunning musical and, in particular, six-string intricacy... layers of lush, ringing, occasionally grimy and often heavily effected guitars" Guitar World

"Guitarist Michael Ciravolo assembled an all-star cast for his moody hard-hitting album... Intense"Rolling Stone

"Hauntingly heavy and beautiful"LA Weekly

"A rich sonic palette of unabashed gothic rock and post-punk romanticism, that reverberates through the varied inputs of a melange of musicians who are masters of their craft"Post-Punk.com

Los Angeles-based alt rock / post-punk collective Beauty in Chaos presents 'The Kiss Of The World' featuring statuesque Italian rock-goddess Elena Alice Fossi, the second single from their forthcoming album ‘Behind the Veil’,

This single follows the autumn single ‘Orion’ ft. Whitney Tai. This long-player, which features all female vocalists, is scheduled for release on 2.22.22 via Los Angeles' 33.3 Music Collective.

“Musically and lyrically, this song encompasses what Beauty In Chaos is to me. Sonic textures with elements of chaos, wrapped in layers of beauty,” says BIC curator Michael Ciravolo.

Vicente Cordero’s Industrialism Films was enlisted to bring this dystopian video concept to life. Ciravolo explains, “What drew me to Elena, besides her incredible voice, was that her lyrics are deep, intelligent and interpretive. It was her stage persona and a couple of interviews I had seen of her that sparked the ‘1984-big brother / V is for Vendetta’ concept. Vicente’s team did a great job of pulling these elements together … marrying Elena’s footage (filmed in Italy by famed photographer Francesco Licata) with our sets”.

Elena Alice Fossi is perhaps best known as frontwoman of Kirlian Camera, as well as her electronic pop project SPECTRA*paris. A singer, composer and producer, she is lauded for being at the forefront of European alternative music, her range of musical output spanning electro, darkwave, future pop, alternative rock and synthpop.

“No, it's not a love relationship that ended badly, as it might seem on the surface. This story's plot is instead enclosed in the domination and deception that, perpetrated over time, have generated a zombified society, where the living dead obey an authority which in turn is the servant of stronger occult powers. And it's these powers that pull the strings of a comedy in which consumerism, betrayal and manipulation are the masters," says Elena Alice Fossi.

"The tyranny is well hidden and the slave doesn't know he is, because he finds himself in a maelstrom of materialism and "online drugs" that make him unaware and helpless. But things are about to be turned around and this flawed system will be cornered. Satan's mighty valet has pulled the rope to such an extent that it finally breaks and the lies that have long been embellished now reveal their true face. The hour of the rescue is going to come because not a few are awakening from the long torpor”

Beauty in Chaos is the brainchild of guitarist Michael Ciravolo. The LA-based New Orleans native is also President of Schecter Guitar Research. Until launching BIC, Ciravolo was guitarist in Human Drama for 30 years and had also played live and recorded with Michael Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel since 1998.

In 2020, Beauty In Chaos released ‘The Storm Before The Calm’ and the remix-based ‘Out Of Chaos Comes…’ albums to critical acclaim. Recorded at Ciravolo's SAINTinLA Studio, this LP was produced by Grammy nominee Michael Rozon, known for his work with Ministry.

Since its inception, Beauty In Chaos has involved many music luminaries, including members of The Mission, The Cure, Ministry, Cheap Trick, The Offspring, Gene Loves Jezebel, Marilyn Manson, Human Drama, Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails, Van Halen, A Flock of Seagulls, as well as dUg Pinnick (Kings X), ICE-T, producer Tim Palmer, guitar icon Zakk Wylde, Ashton Nyte (The Awakening), Evi Vine and Rolan Bolan.

As of December 2, 'The Kiss of The World' will be available via Apple Musicand Bandcamp. The full ‘Behind the Veil’ album will be released on February 22, 2022. Beauty In Chaos' catalogue can also be explored at https://www.beautyinchaosmusic.com/music-store

'The Acoustic Verses (remastered)' will be out on December 3, via Season of Mist. Pre-orders are still available in the shop HERE. Pre-save the album HERE.

By early 2006, Norway’s GREEN CARNATION had released four studio albums and an EP in five years — including their breakout masterwork, 2001’s Light of Day, Day of Darkness. Albums of such magnitude generally foretell some type of creative cliff is around the bend, but the Norwegians wisely kept updating their sound with more atmospheric and progressive rock elements on the ensuing A Blessing in Disguise (2003) and The Quiet Offspring (2005). This creative direction ensured Light of Day, Day of Darkness would forever stand alone and that GREEN CARNATION was not a band bound to convention.

This brings us to 2006’s The Acoustic Verses, an album — as the title suggests — of completely acoustic originals. Buoyed by the previous year’s The Burden is Mine…Alone EP and the eponymous song bearing its name, The Acoustic Verses found GREEN CARNATION near the peak of their creative powers during their 2000s iteration. Now 15 years removed from its release, TheAcoustic Verses is getting the vinyl reissue treatment from Season of Mist, including new artwork from Polish graphic artist Lukasz Jaszak, an updated tracklisting and three bonus cuts.

According to vocalist Kjetil Nordhus, The Acoustic Verses was born from the band’s never-ending pursuit of something new. Even with regular pleas from fans to recreate the hallowed sounds of Light of Day, Day of Darkness, GREEN CARNATION was more interested in the “next step.” Come 2006, that next step was stripped-down music played on acoustic instruments.

“I think [founding member/guitarist] Tchort thought we didn’t know where to go next,” says Nordhus. “We had time to discover all the areas within our creative scope except for the acoustic landscapes. Especially Light of Day, Day of Darkness, which is a ‘more is more’ album. It sounds strange, but it was a natural step for us because it was an area we hadn’t gone into before as a band. We had different band members that were more or less acquainted with the acoustic ideas. But for the band as a whole, it was a new challenge. It was fresh for us. For some strange reason, but I can understand, I think many people found a lot of atmospheres from Light of Day, Day of Darkness in TheAcoustic Verses, even though it’s the most different sounding album when you listen to it at first. The Acoustic Verses is like a stripped-down essence of what GREEN CARNATION is or was at that time.”

At seven songs, The Acoustic Verses features songwriting contributions from nearly every member of GREEN CARNATION. Tchort provided “Sweet Leaf” and “Alone,” while Nordhus chipped in with “Maybe?” Bassist Stein Roger Sordal penned not only “The Burden is Mine…Alone” but also the 15-minute epic “9-29-045.” “Child’s Play Part 3” (a continuation of the “Child’s Play” story from The Quiet Offspring) was written by guest cellist Bernt Andrè Moen, and album closer “High Tide Waves” was a joint effort between guitarist Michael S. Krumins (music) and drummer Tommy Jackson (lyrics).

The wealth and disparity of songwriting ideas proved to be a double-edged sword GREEN CARNATION. While it made The Acoustic Verses an album of remarkable depth and progression, it put the band at a creative crossroads. Then, the following year, Tchort dissolved GREEN CARNATION after a difficult North American tour. It also put his plans for the sequel to Light of Day, Day of Darkness, The Rise and Fall of Mankind (which was the intended second part of his The Chronicles of Doom trilogy) on the backburner.

“It was a challenge for us to fit the new, acoustic sound into what we were doing,” says Nordhus. “I can’t remember too many albums that have nearly all band members as songwriters and lyricists, which made it very much a band concept. But, after The Acoustic Verses, we certainly didn’t know what to do. There wasn’t a natural step for us to take at that point. There’s a lot of reasons why we decided to split up — that was one of them.”

GREEN CARNATION reformed in 2014 and proceeded to rejoin the European and American festival circuit for special appearances, including a full airing of Light of Day, Day of Darkness at the 2016 ProgPower USA festival. In 2020, they released the highly anticipated follow-up to The Acoustic Verses, Leaves of Yesteryear, an album that drew immediate praise from fans and critics.

“We knew that people wanted us to come back,” says Nordhus. “That wasn’t something new. But the emotions of it all, during that first concert when we came back, we saw several people crying in the audience, we could see how much it meant to people and we were all a bit surprised. There’s a lot of love for the band out there. We needed to be entirely sure that after so many years that we released an extremely good album. It wouldn’t make sense to do something halfway. We took quite a lot of time, wrote a lot of material and set a high bar for our ideas. We tried to gather all the best things we did previously but adding 15 years of life and musical experience.”

Nordhus hints at some “significantly adventurous” plans for GREEN CARNATION in addition to continuing the promotional push for Leaves of Yesteryear. However, assembling the The Acoustic Verses reissue provided a moment of pause and reflection when GREEN CARNATION was writing, recording and touring at a breakneck pace. A decade-and-a-half after the release of The Acoustic Verses, Nordhus says the band is in a significantly better frame of mind and appreciates what they have in each other.

“Those were some hectic years. It was such a short period of time. You look at what we did and it’s like, ‘Oh, wow!’ We did concert DVDs, singles, full lengths…everything. Because of the experience we all have, it feels much more comfortable to play together. We’re more true to what we want to do. We don’t necessarily have the aim of headlining the Wacken festival. We’re happy with our situation in that we have people all over the world who are interested in what we’re doing, and we mean something to them. Not everyone can say that. We want to do stuff that gives us energy and want to continue playing. Economy and money are not our driving force — it never was in the first place. We’re extremely ambitious when it comes to making music together and our live shows are better than ever. I don’t think we talked about those things 15 years ago.”

Behemoth’s Nergal Releases ME AND THAT MAN’s Third Single “Under the Spell” (ft. Mary Goore) + Official Music Video

New Album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2, Out Now

Get Your Copy HERE!

ME AND THAT MAN and John Porter join forces again for the first time in four years!

About four years ago, the paths of Behemoth mastermind Adam Nergal Darski and guitarist & rock musician John Porter fatefully crossed. In great contrast to his previous career, Nergal joined forces with Porter to bring a whole new project to life: ME AND THAT MAN. After the first album, the two founding fathers parted ways, and Nergal went on to continue ME AND THAT MAN as a solo project featuring various prominent guest artists.

Only a few days after the release of the new ME AND THAT MAN album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2 and an incredible four years since the duo released their last track together – a brand new, standalone ME AND THAT MAN single, "Fight", has surfaced featuring the nostalgic vocal contributions of John Porter!

Right from the very beginning, "Fight" takes no detours and promises groovy melodies, deep basslines, dirty guitars and snare hits that shoot straight into the listener's mind. The spotlight shines on John Porter's raspy, spitting lead vocals that summon up the old spirits of ME AND THAT MAN's origins. Both new fans and especially those who have been following along from the beginning can look forward to this collaboration!

Nergal on the collaboration:

"FIGHT"! Is a last minute endeavour ME AND THAT MAN committed with John Porter. This spontaneous collaboration was a reaction to the great vibes that were shared during our recent tour in Poland. While the lyrics themselves may not be positive and vital it captures John's frustration towards all the bullshit we, the human race have been fed in the recent decade... It's a straight up protest song! I love it!”

Watch the Video for “Fight” featuring John Porter below

Adam “Nergal” Darski has signed a menacing pact with the devil once again, returning with dark folk/blues/Americana influenced solo project ME AND THAT MAN’s third full-length studio album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2, on November 19, 2021 via Napalm Records.

Nergal on the new album:

“Here we go again, mother lovers! New Man, New Songs, Same Shit VOLUME 2. You guys know the drill, I recruited the best of the best in heavy music to collaborate on some unique tracks me and the Polish, Italian and Ukrainian crew have been working on over the last 18 months. Once again, the result, amazing and the performances, inspired! Thank you, Comrades - Abbath, Alissa, Amalie, Anders, Blaze, Chris G, Chris H, David, Devin, Douglas, Frank, Gary, Hank, Jeff, Kris, M.Goore, Michale, Ralf and Randy. Who knows when we’ll get together to play these songs but I will try my best to make it happen! Enjoy it everyone!”

Pre-Order New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2 NOW!

Following the chart-topping part one of the album, ME AND THAT MAN now present whole new facets: Opening track “Black Hearse Cadillac”, featuring the vocals of Hank von Hell and guitar sorcery by Anders Odden, marks a sinister beginning to this infernal journey through dark desert soundscapes and evil lyricism. Driving “Under The Spell” (feat. Mary Goore) lives up to its title, at times evoking a spaghetti western-esque ambience. Songs like wicked “Witches Don’t Fall in Love” (feat. Kristoffer Rygg/Ulver), straight-to-the-head rocking “Blues & Cocaine” (feat. Michale Graves) and mysterious “Goodbye” – with a haunting yet powerful vocal attack by Alissa White-Gluz – showcase the record’s extensive variety and that there’s something unexpected lurking all throughout. This is further evident on songs like the soulful blues-rock ballad “Angel of Light” featuring the compelling voice of Myrkur, or insanely dynamic, uptempo outburst of “Got Your Tongue” feat. Chris Georgiadis (Turbowolf).

After the enticing debut Songs of Love And Death (2017), followed by sophomore release New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1, its sequel once again mirrors Nergal in a completely different light and provides a tremendous contrast to the extreme metal sounds of Behemoth.

New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2 will be available in the following formats:

-1 CD Sleevepack

-1 LP Gatefold Vinyl Sun Yellow (Napalm Records worldwide exclusive)

New York rocker Dmitry Wild celebrates the free life on 'Don't Need Anybody' and B-side 'Summer of 21'

"Upbeat, positive, and catchy. With memorable riffs and a notable feel-good vibe... Wild delivers his vocals with casually defiant flair, surrounded by rolling waves of shining guitar riffs, a slinky bass line groove, kicky drum hits, and crashing cymbals. The ambience is exciting, yet laid-back at the same time and captures true rock 'n' roll spirit" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A tastefully crafted raucous free-rolling rocker-zen cracker" ~ Skylight Webzine

"Wild flourishes here with a swaggering style, the buoyant track having a night-on-the-town ripping sound. “I don’t need anybody / The whole world is inside me” makes for a start of lyrics that, if they don’t pique your interest, the hyper full-band rhythm and feel-good factor certainly should" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Dmitry Wild presents his new single 'Don't Need Anybody' after a brief pandemic-inspired pause since releasing three singles in 2020. Here we find him immersed in his trademark blend of 70’s vintage rock, mixed with garage rock and punk ethos. Together with the B-side 'Summer of 2021', it will be released digitally on December 1. For this single, Wild worked with Byron Frayne (mixing) and NYC blues-rock cult hero David Patillo (mixing and mastering).

The adventurous music video was filmed around Hudson, NY by the Strange House video / audio production company, produced by Byron Fyrne and edited by Tryst, who herself even stars in this video.

Following his latest single ''Pandemic Summer', we sense the proverbial fog somewhat lifting with this new single. "The idea came during the Pandemic. I felt people needed more positivity in the world around us," says Dmitry Wild.

For Dmitry Wild, all ultimately lead back to oneself. After surviving 9/11 due to a late train on the way to band practice, he has fronted 10 bands of his own and collaborated with the likes of The Cramps' Jungle Jim and Vladimir Komarovfrom the iconic Russian band Punk TV (and also a NYC-based producer).

"Every song offers opposing storyline, there is a separate theatre of meanings and emotions that highlights what we as humanity just lived through in 2020, but when that’s done in major tonalities and to a rippind drum beat it feels good to be alive again," says Dmitry Wild.

"The first song 'Don’t Need Anybody' offers an introspection and resolution that you don’t need anybody’s approval, digital or physical, for you to accept yourself for who you are. Also, to really truly live, all you need is some time, peace and your own soul to guide you an emotion that gets yelled out through the microphone."

A musician, actor and writer, Dmitry Wild's ever-present musical persona always leads him on fascinating adventures. His book 'Why Be Normal? details a raucous road trip and his own personal search for the American Dream.

Upon escaping the pandemic with a move upstate to Hudson, New York, he launched a more solo trajectory as the main writer, composer, guitarist and a performer of all material. With performance, emotion and lyrics at the core of his music, live shows take on a theatrical and, at times, mystical experience with a band of true conspirators, performing under the name Dmitry Wild and The Spells (with Peter Breed doubling on keys and bass).

In early 2022, Dmitry Wild plans to release a full-length album of edgy ballads, folky gipsy tales, a few covers, other introspective tracks inspired by the 80's and garage blues. For now, 'Don't Need Anybody' will be released on December 1 and will be available across all good digital sites, including Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp, where it can already be ordered.

Irish alternative rock / post-punk artist Ava Vox presents potent new single 'Crash'

"Ava Vox may be Ireland's dark horse. With strong and memorable vocals, she offers a powerhouse delivery that lends to a gripping and evocative performance overall. Production-wise, there is a good balance between the vocals and musical accompaniment with Ava Vox conveying a poignant and ever-present cautionary message" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Dublin post-punk alternative rock artist Ava Vox presents her new single 'Crash', an upbeat post-punk / goth rock banger with a haunting element, echoing the footsteps of such music trailblazers as Siouxie Sioux, Divinyls and Florence and the Machine. This is the first taste of Ava's forthcoming debut album 'Immortalised', anticipated for release in early 2022,

'Crash' and the full album was produced by Ray McLoughlin (RMC Recording Studios), a musician and producer who has performed or recorded with innumerable artists from Cliff Richard, Daniel O’Donnel, Francis Black, Brian Kennedy, Derek Ryan, Nathan Carter, the RTE Concert Orchestra, Rick Astley and Mary Coughlan, He has toured worldwide, performing in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie and the Sydney Opera House, in addition to serving as musical director for shows for RTE, BBC, PBS America and SKY.

In February 2021, Ava Vox debuted with her rendition of The Cure's 'Love Song',slowing down the tempo and solely accompanied by piano, performed by Ray McLoughlin. She followed up with 'Strange Days' single, a 2-track release that included her own rendition of Soft Cell classic 'Tainted Love' and beloved Bowie track 'Life on Mars'.

A Dublin native, Ava Vox (real name Elaine Hannon) currently lives in County Meath. While she's been involved with various music projects in the past few decades, her Ava Vox persona emerged in September 2020. With a unique vocal timbre and commanding delivery with a dash of Goth and Post-Punk, Ava Vox's musical style ranges from slow melodic atmospheric to dynamic rock.

Elaine first ventured out as a vocalist when 17, quickly graduating from backing to lead vocalist. In the mid-1980’s, Elaine formed gothic rock / post-punk band The Seventh Veil, which ultimately disbanded in 1991. After significant airplay and excellent reviews by the likes of Hot Press Magazine, Eamonn Carr, and the Evening Herald, the band won the Battle of the Bands competition, the prize being recording time with Dublin producer Paul Thomas, well known for his work with U2, Kate Bush, UB40, Status Quo, Davy Spillane and Clannad.

"This new interpretation of the lyrics of the song ‘Crash’ allowed me to really let loose. Crash brings you somewhere - to a place, to another dimension, another time / futuristic. The music and the words lead me to create a music video (forthcoming) about the consequences of Global warming/climate change, to our planet and the human race," says Ava Vox.

Ava Vox counts numerous artists among her influences, including David Bowie, Patti Smith, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Japan and The Cult.

As of December 16, 'Crash' will be available across online stores and streaming services, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. Ava Vox is currently completing work on new album ‘Immortalised’, due for release in early 2022.

ENSLAVED ANNOUNCE "THE OTHERWORLDLY BIG BAND EXPERIENCE" STREAMED EVENT ON DEC 21ST

May those of Sense and Earth gather for the new dawn...

Enslaved's new EP Caravans To The Outer Worlds was released unto the universe last month. It is a tale of departure, about leaving behind a barren and desolate world, traveling boldly into the future. It signaled the end of an era for the psychedelic Norwegians, hinting at new pastures.

In celebration of the EP's release, tied in with the upcoming Winter Solstice (a Pagan holy day marking the symbolic death and rebirth of the Sun), Enslaved are proud to announce an extraordinary streaming event. 'The Otherworldly Big Band Experience' will take place on Tuesday December 21st. Fellow psychedelic Norwegian prog band Shaman Elephant will be joining Enslaved onstage.

Watch the stream trailer below for more information:

The Otherworldly Big Band Experience
Tuesday December 21st @ 12:00PM PT / 3:00PM ET
Tickets are now on sale now via https://enslavedstore.com/collections/big-band-stream
The stream will be available to watch until the end of December 24th
Stream FAQ + support info is HERE

Enslaved's Ivar Bjørnson gave some insight,
"Soon, the sun will turn - once again marking the transition from one year to another and the onset of brighter days ahead. We are many who wish to see this coming Winter Solstice mark a lasting turning away from dark days behind us. We have kept it up all along; virtual tours, rehearsing, writing, and releasing an album and an EP. You heard us when we said, “this will not stop us!” - the Enslaved Community has grown stronger through the crisis. Now we will close this cycle with a grandiose virtual concert, and hope for you to join us from all over the world.

“The Otherworldly Big Band Experience” is about wanting to show even more of what ENSLAVED is: ENSLAVED is also an idea. It is a live band that is teeth-grittingly metal, has rock’n’roll in its DNA, while maintaining and expanding on its position as a groundbreaking progressive metal act. All while exploring the boundaries of Norse Mythology and Rune-lore, Psychology and History.

We have recruited both an extension to the line-up with the young and talented Bergen prog rock band, Shaman Elephant. We have worked together with some of the most talented moviemakers and visual wizards around - also young and from Bergen: Kolibri Media. Add the Enslaved live crew to the mix and you have got magic, no less.

We have aspired to create a concert film that reflects this expanded representation of ENSLAVED and cannot wait to show you all. It is bigger than any project we have done before, and it is unlike anything else you have seen in this kind of music. You will see and hear songs that have never been performed before. Songs you might have heard will sound and look like you haven’t seen and heard before. There is new material, and material as old as the band. One constant binds it all together: it is ENSLAVED."

NILE Mastermind KARL SANDERS to Release New SAURIAN Solo Project Music, Signs Worldwide Contract with Napalm Records

Just shortly after announcing the signing of almighty death metal icons NILE to Napalm Records, the premier international rock and metal label is pleased to announce the additional signing of the band’s own mastermind KARL SANDERS’ solo project, with plans to release brand new Saurian music next year.

Following the first two Saurian project albums – Saurian Meditation (2004) and Saurian Exorcisms (2009) – KARL SANDERS is ready to unleash more musical musings from inside his eclectically influenced mind. To date, each Saurian release has explored unique, original compositions of haunting, primarily Middle Eastern inspired music in a cinematic, ambient and mostly instrumental format – similar to the quiet, exotic interludes found on NILE albums. Providing a diverse escape for both fans of NILE and those otherwise intrigued by its world music aura, Saurian proves that Sanders’ universe is anything but one-dimensional.

In addition to releasing new Saurian music, Napalm Records will reissue both Saurian Meditation and Saurian Exorcisms, with more details to come.

KARL SANDERS says about the signing:

“I am just thrilled to death that we have signed up with Napalm Records for the new KARL SANDERS Saurian album. I am really happy that we have found such a good home for both NILE and my Saurian side project, as they are a great company with some sincere people. I am looking forward in earnest to working together with everyone at Napalm to bring fans the new Saurian music, as well as re-releasing the first two Saurian records.”

Stay tuned for more information on upcoming Saurian music and reissues, coming soon!

ABIOTIC Announce 10 Year Anniversary Re-release of Debut EP - 'A Universal Plague: Mutation' on Vinyl & Digital

American Deathcore five-piece ABIOTIC are excited to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their debut studio record, 2011's self-released 'A Universal Plague'. Fresh off the release of their third studio album, 'Ikigai', Abiotic is releasing 'A Universal Plague: Mutation', their second offering on their new label The Artisan Era. The updated re-release features a new single, "Mutation", as well as a re-recorded version of the band's seminal single, "Vermosapien".

Speaking on revisiting their debut record, the band says:

"We're so grateful to get to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our debut EP with the re-release of A Universal Plague: Mutation. Fans have been asking us to release the EP digitally and on vinyl for what feels like forever and we're so pumped to be working with The Artisan Era to get this out to everyone with some bonus tracks for the fans. We decided to re-record the song that started it all for us, Vermosapien, with our new lineup and make some creative tweaks, including using 8 strings, to give the song new life while keeping true to our original sound."

The members of Abiotic go on to share:

"The idea was to show the mutation we've made as a band, hence the name of the EP. We also added a brand new song (Mutation), featuring our former vocalists Dickie Allen (Infant Annihilator) and Ray Jimenez (Acaedia), which is easily the heaviest song we've ever written. I think fans are going to lose their minds to this song, hearing the blend of voices that have been part of the band's 10-year span of plaguing the extreme metal scene. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the band over the last decade. We are only able to do what we love to do because of you. Cheers!"

A Universal Plague: Mutation is out THIS FRIDAY (December 3rd, 2021) via The Artisan Era. PRE-ORDER HERE: https://ffm.to/abiotic

OBSIDIOUS Premieres Official Video for New Song, "Sense of Lust"

Modern progressive metal band OBSIDIOUS is now releasing a brand new single called ‘"Sense of Lust." The track is accompanied by a new music video, which was created by Guilherme Henriques. The song and video can be found below.

The track is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, which will be released in 2022 via Season of Mist. Stay tuned for more info!

OBSIDIOUS vocalist Javi Perera comments on the video: "The theme is about a dominant with his submissive in a BDSM relationship and the acts they perform during their intercourse. It reflects desire, lust and perversion, but also shows the aftercare, as each knows that the other is enjoying their role, which blurs the line as to who is the mastermind planning and initiating this encounter."

Recently, Season of Mist announced the signing of OBSIDIOUS which was accompanied by the band’s first single ‘Iconic’.

In April 2020 guitarist Rafael Trujillo, bassist Linus Klausenitzer and drummer Sebastian Lanser decided to move on from their former band OBSCURA to continue their musical path with the completely new band OBSIDIOUS. Free from former boundaries, OBSIDIOUS merge extreme metal with other genres of music into a unique style that people will somehow find familiar, but haven‘t heard yet. Together with their singer Javi Perera they set out to create a musical evolution: With a fresh name, reaching for new fan groups utilizing modern marketing ideas. OBSIDIOUS’ band members have many facets and influences to build upon, using virtuosity & technique to write great songs.

Rafael Trujillo, Linus Klausenitzer and Sebastian Lanser built a strong bond after years of worldwide touring and recording together with OBSCURA. With their last record “Diluvium”, that was primarily composed by the trio, the band celebrated their biggest success to date. Formerly unseen chart positions alongside massive praise by prominent media outlets & magazines document the success of this team. OBSIDIOUS aims to expand the existing fan base that they’ve gained: All (ex-)formations of the Obsidious members were defined through their musical characters.

The four band members that are based in Europe are known for their high musicianship and virtuosity. Their advanced technical level is an essential and unique part of their compositions. Guitarist Rafael Trujillo has a multicultural background and studied music in different countries all around the globe. Linus Klausenitzer is one of the busiest session bassists in the scene and renowned for his 7-string fretless bass sound. Strong drum independence skills and stylistic diversity make Sebastian Lanser one of the most influential drummers of the new generation. The web community shares the Ex-Obscura members’ excitement about singer Javi Perera being celebrated for his diverse and charismatic vocal skills.

OBSIDIOUS' music consists of modern riffs, strong decisive energetic melodies, virtuosity and epic unison lines. They love music that’s heavy, catchy, fast, and wild. The brand new album is currently being recorded and will be released via Season of Mist early 2022.

Genre: Modern Metal

DALBY Drops New Music Video for Single "BLANKET" Produced by Tricky Stewart

Stream Dalby Here:

https://independent.ffm.to/blanket

EFFING HUMAN RECORDS Presents DALBY and her new video (directed by Video Rahiem) for her latest single "BLANKET" produced by legendary super producer Tricky Stewart.

Dalby’s latest single, "Blanket" is a tune that checks all boxes, mid-tempo, catchy, you can blast and sing along.

“I'm really excited about this song because it really captures the sound that I want moving forward. When I was writing this song last year, I really wanted to write about the comfort that a person can provide, whether that’s a romantic relationship or just someone in life that shelters you from every storm. ‘Blanket’ was kind of an embodiment of that since a blanket is basically part of shelter and warmth, which are two basic necessities of human kind. Tricky Stewart did an incredible job and I hope everyone loves it as much as we do" says Dalby.

The talented songwriter, singer, artist, and activist Dalby Biehl is no average 15-year-old. This highly gifted teenager has found her own little niche in composing music and lyrics that are relatable to both your youngest sibling and your favorite grandparent. Dalby speaks to her fans on many levels. Her creativity is inspiring, her vocabulary is impressive and her commitment to being herself makes her music a very ‘unique’ breath of fresh air.

Born in Newport Beach, California with stops in Pennsylvania and New Jersey along the way, Dalby now resides in Atlanta. She’s learned to adapt and has translated her journey into melody and lyric. Atlanta seems to be a great resting spot for this young artist as she accredits it’s music scene, liveliness and culture as the cultivator for the exposure, new connections and growth she’s experienced over the past few years.

“I really don’t like labeling myself to any genre, because I hate feeling like there’s no room for me to expand or grow…hopefully, if you like one of my songs, you like one of my songs, and it shouldn’t be a matter of genre.”

Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are just a few of the artist that Dalby idolizes. She is passionate about the work she does and irrefutably committed to her craft, the teenage prodigy makes it her goal to connect to people through her music. “If its standing up for social justice, connecting to someone in a dark place, or just giving someone a song to scream in the car.” Speaking her truth and standing up for others is in her blood. Her aunt, Amy Biehl, was a huge anti-Apartheid activist who was murdered in South Africa in 1993. Dalby has combined these aspects of her life and rolled them into one.

“I let my emotions out through my writing. As an activist, I also like to speak my thoughts, but it’s easier for me to sing about it.”

A songwriter and performer at heart with aspirations of touring the world (spending an exceptionally long time in the UK), Dalby’s first professional project was an independently produced album at the age of 12. In the past 3 years she has written hundreds of songs and is merely scratching the surface with her latest project; "BLANKET," with legendary producer, Tricky Stewart.

In a nutshell Dalby is a loyal, family- oriented, sports loving, authentic teenager who loves to read dystopian books, bake, and do puzzles. She’s a Bears and Steelers fan who attends Cubs games as much as she possibly can. She adores her little big brother, LOVES Christmas, has a passion for architecture and talks a whole lot of shit. Dalby tends to stress herself out striving for perfection but has learned to gracefully accept that characteristic as an attribution of being fucking human.

Dalby’s immediate and extended musical family has been a circle of support and a contributing factor to her ability to manifest her musical ambitions. But it is Dalby’s fire, discipline, and courage to be herself that fuels her artistically, trailblazing a musical path through a world with no genres. Dalby Biehl is a force that is seen and heard… a voice for her generation.

Such talent can be witnessed with opener “Reinvented”, lurking with lovely piano tunes and erupting in intense riffage in the blink of an eye. Hailing from hell, hard-hitting “Afterlife” features the vocal power of Nils Molin (Amaranthe, Dynazty), merging in perfect harmony with Melissa’s incredibly haunting delivery. Songs like “Your Enemy” and cinematic grand finale “Lullaby” leave no scope for weakness and unveil the heaviest side of AD INFINITUM to date. This grasping hymn is far from lulling you to sleep, as the eclectically versatile sonic world of AD INFINITUM immediately induces you to listen to Chapter II - Legacy again, right from the beginning!

AD INFINITUM add:

Chapter II - Legacy holds a very special place in our heart. It represents months and months of hard work of four bandmates, for a result that we are proud to call “self-produced”. For this record, we decided to work without the influence of an external producer during the songwriting process and to team up with Elias Holmlid for the beautiful and epic orchestrations and of course with Jacob Hansen who recorded [vocals], mixed, mastered and participated to the post production. A younger and heavier sound that defines AD INFINITUMlike never before.”
