Morgan Wallen's This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen to Open Saturday, June 1

TC Restaurant Group announces its one-of-a-kind six-story venue in partnership with Morgan Wallen called “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen” will open Saturday, June 1 at 11 am. The bar, restaurant and live music concept in downtown Nashville’s iconic Lower Broadway district is located by the front entrance of the famed Ryman Auditorium.

“We’re thrilled to welcome our first guests on Saturday, June 1, to This Bar leading into CMA Fest,” said Grant Burlingame, vice president of operations at TC Restaurant Group. “This venue has been a labor of love for us and Morgan. His fans and music lovers alike will love the experiences they will find at This Bar. We’re proud to open its doors.”

After the June 1 opening, fans and guests can stay tuned on social channels (@mwthisbar) and the website (www.mwthisbar.com) for updates on on-going hours leading into CMA Fest.

The opening comes after news that Wallen’s recent three-performance weekend at Nissan Stadium contributed to a record setting weekend of hotel bookings in Nashville, according to information shared by the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. 75,000 hotel rooms were sold from May 3 to May 4, the most in the city’s history.

Wallen, who The New York Times calls “the biggest country star of the 2020s — and one of the biggest stars in pop, period,” partnered with trusted Broadway owner and operator TC Restaurant Group to bring his vision to life and deliver an experience true to himself and unique to the market.

Since launching his career, Wallen has primarily shared his music and stories with fans directly on the road at his live shows, and This Bar is an extension of the boy from East Tennessee’s life. Paying homage to growing up in Tennessee, This Bar incorporates pivotal elements that shaped Wallen’s life, with each level showcasing photos and memorabilia from his childhood as well as some of his most notable performances to date.

This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen is designed and built from the ground up to deliver a unique experience on 4th Avenue adjacent to the historic Ryman Auditorium just off Broadway in the heart of Music City. The venue will be approximately 30,000 square feet and feature three live music stages, six bars and an open-air rooftop.

The menu is curated by Wallen with Chef Tomasz Wosiak, Vice President of Culinary Development for TC Restaurant Group, and features southern delectables, bar bites, Tennessee favorites and some of Mama Wallen’s own recipes.

The venue also features a gift shop with exclusive Morgan Wallen merchandise offerings and, yes, even an homage to his favorite Tennessee team.

“Morgan Wallen is one of the most sought after stars in the music industry, and we are thrilled that he has trusted us to deliver a concept that will bring him closer to his fans, hold fast to his roots and enshrine his name among an exclusive group of artists who can claim international stardom with a Lower Broadway destination fans all over the world seek out,” said Adam Hesler, President at TC Restaurant Group.

Annie Bosko Debuts Steamy Duet with Dwight Yoakam on "Heart Burn"

As she prepares to step into the revered circle at the Grand Ole Opry tonight, May 31, rising singer/songwriter Annie Bosko releases a steamy duet with Dwight Yoakam on “Heart Burn,” via Stone Country Records. Listen to the song Below.

“Dwight is not only my musical hero but an icon, from his music to his sense of style, and we both share Bakersfield roots,” shares Bosko. “I love that he effortlessly crosses genres, blending everything from country, americana, rock and latin influences, and it feels like we were able to capture that in this song.”

Penned by Bosko and Chuck Cannon, with Yoakam in mind, and produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry), “Heart Burn” is punctuated by baritone guitars that harken back to their Bakersfield roots, as the neo-traditionalists croon:

      You make my heart burn
      You make my soul yearn
      You make my bones ache
When you’re gone they just might break
      Inside of my chest
      Kisses leave me helpless
Baby we make love so good it hurts
      You make my heart burn

“When we wrote the second verse, I asked, ‘What would Dwight Yoakam say?’ I wanted it to sound dreamy and poetic, but with a western edge,” Bosko explains.

“Heart Burn” comes on the heels of Bosko’s recently released duet with Vince Gill, “Higher Ground,” and follows the release of her self-titled EP earlier this year, featuring five songs including current single “Neon Baby,” which saw her make her late night debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Following tonight’s Grand Ole Opry performance, Bosko will perform at the Concert for Love and Acceptance at Margaritaville on June 5 and CMA Fest at the Hard Rock Stage on June 6 at 12:55pm. As an Ariat Ambassador, she will also have a special in-store performance at the Ariat Brand Shop on Broadway on June 7 at 6:30pm.

Bosko performed in Frisco at the ACM Country Kickoff at the Star on May 14, with Morning Hangover praising, “Annie has it all - she has the voice, the charm, the heart, the grit, the work ethic - everything about her screams future Superstar.”

About Annie Bosko
With a voice that beams like a ray of California sunshine, Stone Country Records/Brown Sellers Brown Management singer-songwriter Annie Bosko’s “Heart Burn” featuring Dwight Yoakam is available now. A steamy duet produced by Butch Walker, the track is punctuated by baritone guitars that harken back to their Bakersfield roots. A student of legendary crooners like Patsy Cline with added inspiration from Shania Twain, George Strait, Dwight Yoakam, The Beatles and more, the Golden State native pairs a sound anchored deep in the organic twang of ‘90s country with simple songs told from the heart, preaching equal parts healing and honky-tonk hope. Bosko broke out in 2014 with the SiriusXM/CMT hit “Crooked Halo,” bucking the bro-country trend for a traditionally flavored anthem that has now amassed more than 3 million streams. She went on to write songs recorded by Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson, tour alongside Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton, sell out the famed Troubadour and perform on the Grand Ole Opry and at Ryman Auditorium–the fabled Mother Church of Country Music–while also becoming an in-demand studio vocalist and earning the title Artist to Watch from rolling Stone Country. After years of hard knocks and creative shapeshifting, Bosko is now embracing her true nature for creative rejuvenation. Working with producers Derek George and Mickey Jack Cones, a new batch of music pairs unapologetic twang, clever wordplay, and deep compassion with her long standing downhome-diva vocal, capturing the full range of timeless American art in its purest form. In 2023, Bosko released the powerful-yet-tender ballad “Dandelions” in memory of the victims of Nashville’s Covenant School shooting–a track written alongside Danny Myrick which has now become a beacon of community remembrance and faith. Lost in grief and capturing the reverberating shock of that day’s unfathomable loss, the track has been embraced by the Covenant School families themselves, with all proceeds being donated for their benefit through ACM Lifting Lives. Her five-song EP Annie Bosko is available now, featuring sharp-yet-simple, pure-country songs written or co-written with hitmakers like Jeffrey Steele, Bridgette Tatum and more, all aimed at uplifting, inspiring or just singing along with women and country-music lovers everywhere.

Country Artist Chris Housman Releases Debut Album 'Blueneck'

Just in time for Pride Month, Chris Housman has released his highly anticipated debut album, Blueneck. As an openly gay country artist and songwriter, Housman has brought together both a queer and country sensibility with this project that, to many, might seem at odds with one another. Yet backed by a rich six string sound, he delivers a classic twang infused with his Kansas baritone to gently, yet unapologetically, speak his truth at every turn. Listen to Blueneck HERE

An NPR All Songs Considered Best Album pick noting, “…he is making beautifully crafted music that any classic country fan would love,” Housman co-wrote all 13 tracks on the album, offering a musical bridge for a divided time. Called “irresistible” by Rolling Stone, with “Good Morning America” praising him for “making waves,” and Billboard hailing him as a beacon for “outcasts in the genre,” Housman’s message is a simple one: “Country music is for everyone.” Given the 4.5 million streams and 250,000 online followers for an independent artist, it's clearly a message that the world wants to hear.

The native mid-westerner’s country credentials go beyond his music though. He was born and raised in Hanston, Kansas, the epitome of small-town America with a population of just 200. His childhood was rooted in the rural and the conservative, growing up on a farm and living for Country music. “At 7 years old, I loved going to Country jam sessions with my family. I would get mesmerized by this guy Tom, who played fiddle,” recounts Housman, “At Christmas, I got a fiddle from Santa, and I picked it up and ran from there.”

His talent was quickly apparent, and by the age of 8, he was performing with the family band, playing in venues across the state. Over time he would add other strings to his bow, learning to sing, play guitar, upright bass, piano, saxophone, spoons, banjo, and even whistle at a competitive level.

“I played a ton of shows as a kid,” he recalls, “but my relationship with Country changed when I turned 18 and I came out as gay.” He moved to Nashville to attend Belmont on an academic scholarship and stopped playing for some time. “I thought, ‘I can continue to be comfortable and out and gay, or I can do country music, but I definitely can’t do both.’" For a while, that was that.

However, the world of country music never quite let Housman go. After years working behind the scenes doing copyright and licensing for other artists, Housman couldn’t ignore the call of the stage anymore. It was a freak accident that brought him back into the fold. In 2014, Housman broke his neck, a shock to the system that made him realize he hadn’t moved to Nashville to just work on other peoples' music. After a brief stint in a duo, he began writing and performing at colleges across the country solo.

In fact, a number of tracks on his debut album have already been resonating with fans. Title track “Blueneck,” a welcoming homespun manifesto that proudly declares “Y’all means all,” went viral on TikTok taking the burgeoning singer from 72 followers to hundreds of thousands overnight and hit No. 1 on the iTunes country chart, No. 4 on iTunes all-music chart, and peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Digital Country chart.

Other previously released tracks like “Bible Belt,” an examination of religious trauma, and the fable-like “Drag Queen,” which celebrates a teacher of the year who goes from Michael to Michelle after hours, continued the dialogue between his genre and his lived experience. The clever wordplay and radio-friendly pop-country sounds made these songs instant hits with his rapidly expanding fanbase and expedited the release of his debut album.

“It feels like my life’s work. The thing I’ve been making since I picked up the fiddle at 7,” Housman effuses “It’s pretty upbeat and positive but it’s also my soul, my truth.”

The album’s most recent release “Guilty as Sin” saw its music video premiere last month in Times Square through CMT with Queerty calling it "defiantly gay" and generating 350,000 views in just three weeks. A special moment to be sure for an independent artist. However, for Housman, the greatest gift has been the response from fans.

“I see a lot of people out there who grew up loving country music, but gravitated away from it because they didn’t feel welcome there anymore,” shares the tattooed troubadour. “When those people tell me I helped them finally feel seen in the genre…that’s already living the dream as far as I’m concerned.”

Fans in Music City can catch Housman next week as part of the line-up for GLAAD and Ty Herndon’s annual Concert for Love & Acceptance on Wednesday, June 5, at 7 pm at Margaritaville (322 Broadway). He will also return to CMA Fest for the second year on Friday, June 7 at 10:15 am performing on the Good Molecules Reverb Stage (Bridgestone Plaza at Corner of 5th Ave and Broadway).

Housman is one of six participants in this year’s Equal Access Development Program, an intensive artist and management training initiative created by CMT and management company mtheory to support underrepresented voices in country music.

About Chris Housman:
If Harlan Howard was right when he said “country music is three chords and the truth,” then Chris Housman is one of the best qualified artists working in Country today. Beyond the classic twang, rich six string backed sound, and disarming Kansas baritone, his offerings in the genre gently, yet unapologetically, speak his truth at every turn. As an openly gay country artist and songwriter, he meticulously brings together two worlds that, to many, are at odds with one another. Whether it’s the metaphoric “Drag Queen” which celebrates a small-town teacher who goes from Michael to Michelle after hours, or the viral sensation “Blueneck,” a welcoming homespun manifesto that proudly declares “y’all means all,” Housman’s music offers a musical bridge in a divided time. Called “irresistible” by Rolling Stone, with “Good Morning America” praising him for “making waves,” and Billboard staunchly affirming him as a saving grace for “outcasts in the genre,” Housman’s message is a simple one: “Country is for everyone.” Given his 4.5 million streams and 250,000 online followers, it's clearly a message that the world wants to hear.

Battling between the desire to be saved or catch a buzz, the “born hitmaker” (All Country News) infuses his signature rebel-rocking lyrics and fiery electric guitar riffs with an explosive beat. Listen to "Mama" Below.

“To me, ‘Mama’ is about always having people in your corner fighting for you and wanting what’s best for you, even when you don’t deserve it,” shares Cooper.

With a summer packed full of dates from his headlining tour along with some of country music’s biggest festivals, Cooper continues to deliver exactly what his chaotically obsessed fans desire. With more new music to come, "Mama" kicks off a new era for Cooper in 2024, staying true to his pumped-up, stadium-ready new sound that “finds himself in an impressive league of rockers including artists — such as HARDY and Brantley Gilbert — who have made their way into the country music genre via determination and a whole bunch of talent” (People).

“Igniting the country world on fire, the badass genre bender once again offers up a country song that isn't surface level but thoughtful and universal” (All Country News). “Mama” follows his 2023 releases “Running Away,” “Hello From the Road” that Country Swag claimed as “his best to date”  and the fiery smash “Kill Me” that PopCulture applauded as “an epic guitar-driven anthem” and All Country News said: “In a genre that is often rinse and repeat and love songs can become mundane, Kolby Cooper says ‘hold my beer.’”

Since his Grand Ole Opry debut and the release of his acclaimed label-debut album, Boy From Anderson County To The Moon, Cooper has solidified his place in the Country music scene as a “music powerhouse” and "rising country-rock star" (People) as well as a fierce road warrior, having headlined his own shows since the age of 18.

Continuing his strenuous packed-out tour schedule throughout 2024, Kolby Cooper has “proven that he has everything it takes to hang with the big dawgs in country music" (Whiskey Riff).

About Kolby Cooper:
Barely out of high school, still living in his small hometown of Bradford, Texas, Kolby Cooper started selling out shows and clocking millions of streams using only his songs as muscle, earning streaming numbers competitive with household names. Now, at only 25 years old, Cooper has amassed over 384 million on-demand streams and released a critically acclaimed label-debut album, Boy From Anderson County To The Moon, via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville in partnership with Combustion Music. A prolific songwriter known for his cut-throat, highly relatable break-up anthems and uncensored lyrics, “Cooper has already made quite the name for himself” (American Songwriter), writing songs that fans sing back to him from the very first note, including just-released tracks. “Blazing a trail to stardom” (People), “there’s one thing for certain about Cooper…the man is versatile as all hell. He can have you hyped up through the roof or have you crying in your beer at the corner of a bar on a Friday night” (Whiskey Riff). Now, “Country Music’s Newest Badass” (People) is giving his chaotically rabid fanbase exactly what they demand with new releases “Mama,” “Running Away,” “Hello From The Road” and fiery anthem “Kill Me,” introducing a fresh, pumped-up new sound that’s been commanding his electric live shows. With the vast wardrobe that musicians acquire over the years, Gifford realized there were no viable wardrobe archiving solutions, so she created The Archives to help clients not only store their wardrobe safely and securely, but to offer a digital solution to keep all things organized, searchable and accessible to her clients and their respective teams. The Archives functions by taking inventory and digital photos of the desired wardrobe to be archived, giving teams the option to store pieces in their facilities or integrate their system into current storage locations. RFID tracking technology programmed into each piece allows for tracking movement of each garment with the online inventory showing all pieces and their location while allowing movement as needed.

Clients are able to see specific movement of wardrobe between closets to take current inventory in case of loss or damage; ensure proper storage of all garments and accessories to preserve valuable and noteworthy pieces; quickly search and filter wardrobe from garment attributes, events worn, and style details; more easily curate garment displays for museums and private companies or personal showings; and monetize select pieces by making them available for rent through the platform.

WATCH Jenna Paulette’s “Darlin’”

When country songstress Jenna Paulette released “Darlin’” earlier this year, it became her first single on independent record label Leo33. Written by Paulette alongside Jess Cayne and Matthew Morrisey, “Darlin’” began the next chapter of her story –  juxtaposing the manipulation of a past relationship with the restored confidence that comes with true love – following the success of her debut album The Girl I Was in March 2023.

Filmed in far West Texas by director Ben Christensen and starring Paulette, Jaci Hammons, Roscoe Edmonds, Bill Fort, PRCA saddle bronc rider Jarrod Hammons and actor James Landry Hébert (1883, Stranger Things), the “Darlin’” official music video is available now following its premiere with CMT in Times Square.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Louis L’Amour, the video follows actress and real life cowgirl Jaci Hammons as she attempts to escape the grips of a snake oil salesman, with the help of a good samaritan cowboy she falls in love with. In many ways, the cinematic video is a hint at Paulette’s own experiences chronicled in The Girl I Was.

“To me, ‘Darlin’’ is a dramatized western parallel to my story of getting free, ‘The Lonesome Road to ‘Darlin.’’ There are little details in it that reference back to my real life,” Paulette, who is happily married and expecting her first child this fall, shared with CMT. “What we didn’t think would actually be a parallel was the fact that I am expecting my first baby girl right now, that was like a little wink from God to me, as I had already written the treatment for the video before finding out my husband and I were expecting. It’s so full circle, and represents the best of new beginnings.”

When reflecting on what she hopes fans will take away from the video, Paulette adds, “I hope people can watch this and see that there is life after getting out of a bad relationship, hope when you thought there wasn’t any and that God can redeem anything.”

Paulette most recently released “Hang Your Hat” as she prepares her sophomore album, her first since signing with Leo33. A continuation of her journey chronicled, “Hang Your Hat” details newfound love, dependable through the good times and the bad.

The Girl I Was (Red Dirt Deluxe) arrived in March, marking the one-year anniversary of The Girl I Was, which swiftly earned critical acclaim from outlets including People Magazine and Grammy.com.

Paulette is currently on the road with Aaron Watson as part of his The Armadillo Dance Hall Tour. For more information on new music and upcoming shows, visit jennapaulette.com or follow @JennaPaulette on all social platforms.

About Jenna Paulette:
A CMT Next Women of Country honoree and an Apple Music’s Country Riser, singer-songwriter Jenna Paulette — a cowgirl who came of age amid the gritty realities of ranch life — is part of Nashville’s growing wave of female artists who are rewriting the rules and charting their own paths. Paulette settled in Nashville in 2015, where she struck up a mentorship with Ashley Gorley – a veteran songwriter with 60+ No. 1 tunes under his belt – which ultimately led to her publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music in June 2021. Since collaborating with songwriters Will Bundy, Rhett Akins and Jessie Jo Dillion, as well as opening for Mason Ramsey, Parmalee, John Michael Montgomery, Clay Walker and most recently Aaron Watson, Paulette has landed brand partnerships with Justin Boots, Boot Barn, Ely Cattleman and Ranch Water.

The deluxe version of her debut album, The Girl I Was (Red Dirt Deluxe), is available now, showcasing Paulette’s finely calibrated blend of toughness and sensitivity in tracks like “Country In The Girl” and “Pretty Ugly.” Wearing her heart on her sleeve, Grammy.com remarked The Girl I Was as “transformative,” noting it “fuses the sounds of Twain and Miranda Lambert, tackling mental health with the somber ‘You Ain't No Cowboy’ and waxing philosophical on ‘Country In The Girl.’” As Paulette continues to tease her sophomore project, she most recently released “Darlin’” and “Hang Your Hat.” She continued to spotlight her authentic western lifestyle last year, performing the national anthem at the National Finals Rodeo, making her Grand Ole Opry Debut and performing in multiple festivals including CMA Fest. Paulette recently signed with independent label Leo33. For more information, visit www.jennapaulette.com.

Ryan, a California native, has spent the last six years in Nashville honing her songwriting skills and performing at local venues and events like Whiskey Jam, Listening Room and the iconic Bluebird Café. She even caught the ear of Keith Urban and was invited to duet with him on his hit song “Without You” at a sold-out tour release date party at Bridgestone Arena to help kick off his 2022 world tour.

“Behind every successful artist is a team of dedicated and hardworking individuals helping make your dreams a reality,” shares Ryan. “It’s so important to find your cheerleaders in this town who not only believe in your music, but also believe in you as a person. About Ashley Ryan
With an “abundance of firepower” (Billboard), Corona, California native and Spinville Entertainment artist Ashley Ryan is taking Nashville’s music scene by storm. An early penchant for poetry led to a natural progression into songwriting at 16, when her grandfather gifted her her first guitar. “I didn’t have anyone to sing my songs, so I started singing them myself, and it just seemed to work.” Shortly after discovering her vocal talents, and after giving college a try in her home state, she ventured east to Nashville to continue her journey (and college at Belmont University) in country music’s capital.

Capturing emotions from heartbreak to honkytonk, Ashley’s music provides listeners with an energy and authenticity that gives listeners a classic country tune with a modernized twist. Shortly after the move to Music City, her musical talents were recognized by 4x GRAMMY® Award-winning country star Keith Urban at a private event. A quick dialogue between the two led to an impromptu duet of Keith’s hit song “Without You” - ultimately leading to an invitation to perform the duet again at Urban’s sold-out show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Ryan’s debut song with Spinville, “Hush Little Baby,”, released in January 2023 and quickly went viral, amassing over 30 million views on Tik Tok and Facebook, and over 11 million streams on Spotify alone. Her latest release, “full-fledged barn-burner” (Billboard) “Too Far Gone,” is yet another example of Ryan’s vocal prowess and a nod to the female stars that inspire her. “I grew up singing ‘Before He Cheats’ and ‘Gunpowder and Lead.’ I really love fiddle in a song - I love that old traditional country, the grungy female country with the sassy drop D guitar and rolling banjo. So that’s what you’ll get from me.”

In January 2024, Ryan pulled together some fan favorites - along with a few new tunes - and released her debut EP, Too Far Gone. The project included “Hush Little Baby,” “Too Far Gone,” and “certified country sass” (The Boot) “One Tractor Mind,” as well as electric guitar fueled up-tempo, "Bad For You.”

Darius Rucker’s “Life’s Too Short: A Memoir” Arrives

“Darius Rucker has done a whole lot of living, and his new memoir is proof…lays bare the roses and thorns on his road to stardom.” – Entertainment Weekly

“Darius Rucker’s memoir may surprise you. But he wants to be honest.” –
Washington Post

“Rucker’s book is a humble ode to the people and places that made him who he is — and the fate that brought together a little band called Hootie & the Blowfish.” –
People

“His devotion to the Dolphins, KISS, Barry Manilow and music in general is celebrated through his talent for effortless conversation” –
USA Today

“It's written in just the way Darius Rucker comes across in person or onstage. As a regular guy, who’s had an amazing life full of great experiences and sometimes almost unbelievable stories.” –
Forbes

“If I look back at my life and try to see into my past, everything seems blurry. But then I lean in and start to hear something. Melodies. Chords. Harmonies. Lyrics. This book is the story of my life as told through twenty-three songs that took me away, soaring, starting at ground level, living in a poor but happy home, never wanting for much more, enjoying what I had, even when times got tough, because I had my escape, my refuge, my music.”
— Darius Rucker

As he prepares to embark on the first tour in five years with his Hootie & the Blowfish bandmates this week, frontman and Country music star in his own right Darius Rucker looks back across his multi-faceted career with raw, heartfelt memoir “Life’s Too Short” available everywhere today, May 28, via Dey Street Books. Order HERE.

Now multiple decades into his illustrious career, the three-time Grammy Award–winning, multi-Diamond-selling artist tells the story of his life through the lens of the music that made him, including songs by everyone from Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder to R.E.M., KISS, Prince and, of course, his own music both with Hootie and as a solo artist. He recounts the unlikely ascent of his band and wild tales of his road-hardened life—one filled with stumbles, missteps and battles with demons, but ultimately resulting in triumph. Candid, entertaining, and moving, “Life’s Too Short” is a classic story of a man and his music.

Rucker appeared on NBC’s “TODAY” this morning to discuss the memoir, noting “The Nanci Griffith chapter that I wrote about my mom when she was in a coma and when she died,” when asked which chapter was the most meaningful to write about. “Reading that back brought me to tears. That was very meaningful to me. That was most meaningful of all of them.”

The book has also earned early critical praise, with Entertainment Weekly noting, “Rucker’s memoir reads like he’s telling you his life story over a beer, with voicey asides and wisecracks strewn throughout... But between anecdotes about Woody Harrelson saving his life and dunking on teens at the YMCA while on tour, a pure, unabashed love for music permeates every page.”

The Washington Post adds, “While anecdotes about the band’s penchant for drinking and drug use are a small part of the book, Rucker’s decision to include such details upfront sends a message: There’s a lot more to the Hootie & the Blowfish story than the massive success that made them both Grammy winners and a cultural punchline,” and USA Today explains of the memoir’s musical through line, “Rucker’s memories – the painful and the ecstatic – are recounted in chapters introduced by song titles: Billy Joel’s ‘Honesty’ for his eventual pairing with guitarist Mark Bryan and their discussions about forming a band; ‘Ships’ from Barry Manilow about his passing-in-the-night relationship with his father; ‘So. Central Rain’ from one of Hootie & the Blowfish’s biggest inspirations, R.E.M., in the chapter about Rucker meeting bassist Dean Felber, who became a soulmate as well as a bandmate.”

Following this week’s kickoff of the Hootie & the Blowfish Summer Camp with Trucks Tour (tickets available here), Rucker returns to Nashville for his annual “Darius & Friends” benefit concert in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which has raised $3.6 million to date.

In other Dayseeker news, the band's acoustic album Replica arrives physically on June 14 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

The stripped down, intimate renditions of familiar fan favorites highlight the band's songcraft and allow the listener to experience Dayseeker in an entirely new way. The collection also includes appearances from Holding Absence's Lucas Woodland and indie artist Amber DeLaRosa.

Replica is the somewhat unexpected (yet welcomed) result of a specific gig in 2022, when the band's gear overheated at Blue Ridge Rock Festival. Thinking on his feet, Rodriguez grabbed an acoustic guitar from the van, plugged in, and performed "Without Me." Soon, he had pulled together a five-song set on the fly as thousands of fans flocked to the stage.

"I felt like we let people down, but I had so many friends say, 'Everyone will remember the day your equipment stopped working and you still played the set as a really special moment’,'" he recalls. "It felt natural for our songs. We usually will do extra tracks for a Deluxe version or re-release, but we decided to commit to an entire acoustic album this time."

LISTEN TO REPLICA TRACKS:
"Neon Grave" (Acoustic)
"Burial Plot" (Feat. Caleb Shomo) (Acoustic)
"My Immortal" (Acoustic)

ABOUT DAYSEEKER:
Dayseeker are a quiet killer. The band has steadily built a buzz over the past several years — and they have reached a tipping point. Dayseeker have become a scene standout with 2019's Sleeptalk, which was hailed by Alternative Press as  "a warm and welcome release to higher ground" and as "much needed fresh air into the post-hardcore scene.

The album has gone on to accumulate over 125 million streams, and it positioned the band as a formidable force — and one that is primed to take its next big leap. In 2021, the band dropped a deluxe version of Sleeptalk, featuring four reimagined versions of album tracks, which offered fans a fresh and unique take on songs they already love. It also demonstrated the depth and breadth of the band's creative vision, scope, and possibilities. However, Dark Sun catapulted the band beyond the scene's stratosphere. The album is out now via Spinefarm and is at 80 millions streams.

ABOUT SPINEFARM:
Spinefarm represents some of the biggest and most important rock acts in the world. Founded in Finland in 1990, the label established itself as an independent powerhouse for successful European metal acts from Nightwish to Children Of Bodom. Acquired by UMG in 2002, Spinefarm Music Group is now home to a host of artists that reach millions of fans across the globe and showcases the very best in rock, punk and metal. From massive metal names such as Bullet For My Valentine (with over 3 billion streams to their name) to alt-rock legends Killing Joke and genre-benders Sleep Token, Spinefarm's artists are — and always have been —true leaders in their chosen field. The roster also includes renowned names like Atreyu, Airbourne, Saint Asonia, and While She Sleeps, as well as fast-rising young artists like Dayseeker, Dead Poet Society, Kid Kapichi, BRKN LOVE, and Creeper. Spinefarm, now flanked by associated SMG labels Candlelight (Emperor, Ihsahn, Urne) and Snakefarm (Marty Stuart, Austin Meade, The White Buffalo), has grown from its independent origins into a true global rock powerhouse.

Bound In Fear Drop New Track "Sentenced" + Official Music Video via Unique Leader Records

UK deathcore outfit Bound In Fear has released their new single "Sentenced" and the official music video via Unique Leader Records. Speaking about today's release, the band commented:

"'Sentenced’ tells the dark yet all too familiar story of ‘seeing red’; the twisted and violent fantasies of hurting those who have hurt you, the process of calming down, and finally the pain, alarm, and self-reflection that follows. It’s a concept that may be considered taboo but one that every human being has to fight within, despite the seemingly innate temptation to act upon that rage. "Sentenced" is a small taste of a new era that Bound in Fear has spent 3 years forging in the shadows. 'Chained to a womb of endless disease.'

Stream "Sentenced" here, watch the music video below, and be sure to stay tuned for more Bound In Fear news coming very soon.

CAVALERA - RELEASE ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE, 'FROM THE PAST COMES THE STORMS’

CAVALERA has become synonymous with extreme metal music, a name that to this day still holds the highest regard, a family legacy built upon decades of musical aggression. In 2023, Max and Iggor Cavalera achieved what some would say was an impossible feat; they revisited their earliest releases, Morbid Visions, and Bestial Devastation, and re-recorded them with bone-breaking intensity. A risk that few would dare to even attempt, yet they artfully and prolifically attained their trademark raw sound by means that could only be described as magic or time travel.

It seems that the ball would not stop rolling as now they are entering the final chapter of their early-days trilogy. Schizophrenia is an iconic album in terms of early thrash and death metal, a household name for those of us invested in extreme metal. This was the point where the Cavaleras refined their dark, dingy, speed-influenced songs, into something a bit more mature, developed, and technical. Decades later, they have once more unlocked the asylum that is Schizophrenia, opening the doors to that banished, twisted recording which will be unleashed unto to world on June 21st via Nuclear Blast Records.

Today, the band releases the pummeling second single entitled 'From The Past Comes The Storms'. Costin Chioreanu was once again enlisted to create the animated music video.

Max Cavalera states, "'From The Past Comes The Storms' is a ferocious album opener. It is a pioneer song using the ’80s Metal movement’s mentality. I love the apocalyptic vision in Costin’s video, bringing the circle of life and death and war and pain. This is going to be a banger to play live!"

Iggor Cavalera comments, “’From The Past Comes The Storms’ was one of the first songs we wrote for schizophrenia, also included in a demo version. I love the rawness between the old school black/death metal influences mixed with thrash. The video illustrates the vibe of the song very well!”

Stream the new single 'From The Past Comes The Storms' on all platforms now at:

No stranger to collaborations, the Cavalera brothers enlisted Travis Stone (PIG DESTROYER) on lead guitars, and that choice becomes obvious within the first song. The full lineup would consist of more Cavalera alumni, as Igor Amadeus Cavalera (GO AHEAD AND DIE, HEALING MAGIC) once more brought his talents on bass to the fold. Thundering and thrumming the low end with brute force, it is clear that the double Iggor and Igor combination is a rhythm section to be reckoned with.

It should come as no surprise that the CAVALERA brothers always felt that these songs deserved a fresh take with modern production. From April 15th to June 5th, 2023 the band re-recorded the album at Focusrite Room in Mesa Arizona. Mixing and mastering was handled by Arthur Rizk(SOULFLY, GO AHEAD AND DIE, TURNSTILE).

Schizophrenia’s album cover has obsessed and fascinated fans for decades. The brothers left no stone unturned and no detail unnoticed, also revisioning the original cover artwork of the album, restored in hand-painted watercolors by Eliran Kantor

With the impressive catalog that the CAVALERA brothers have created over the years, you will soon see that Schizophrenia will also sit amongst their greatest achievements. Max and Iggor have relinquished an album that for many years was locked away behind rusty, iron cell doors, barred by straight jackets and haunted by madness. From the past comes the storms as Schizophrenia is set loose on the world once more!

CAVALERA is:
Max Cavalera | Vocals, Guitar
Iggor Cavalera | Drums, Percussion
Igor Amadeus Cavalera | Bass
Travis Stone | Lead Guitar

Insanity Alert Toast Iron Maiden with New Video

"Maddening and powerful thrash from guys who understand the sound and culture" - Metal Injection

"Energetic, lighthearted fun" - Distorted Sound

"Heavy, fast, old-school and right in your face" - Grimm Gent

"They make quite a noise...combining retro thrash with their own boozy brand of skateboarding-crossover thrash which hits at such a speed that by the time you've slapped the disc on you're already getting back off your arse to play it again" - Metal Forces

Insanity Alert are nothing but a good time. The veteran mosh manics just cracked open a fresh case of crossover thrash last week with the release of Moshemian Thrashody. Today, they're celebrating their new EP by taking Iron Maiden on a fast and frothy spin through the park.

Watch the video for "Beer in the Park" Below

Moshemian Thrashody is out now on Season of Mist.

Order & Stream: https://orcd.co/moshemianthrashodypresave

After almost 15 years, Insanity Alert still go to comically absurd lengths for a good buzz. The latest video from Moshemian Thrashody finds these Austrian pit monsters burning rubber from Las Vegas and the Great Wall of China all the way to the fiery pits of Mordor in search of an ice-cold brewski.

"Beer in the Park" overflows with the band's slapstick humor. Despite suffering a mild heart attack, Slap Master Puke manages to keep the bass lines chunky and grooving. "I have a giant thirst / I just can't help myself" Heavy Kevy sneers before The Dave of Death launches headfirst into a gold and frothy guitar solo that'll bring metalheads back to their glory days.

If there's anything on this Earth that Insanity Alert crave more than a 666-pack, it's crossover thrash. The band wasted no time worshipping Iron Maiden on their very first full-length with a mosh-brained rendition of  "Run to the Hills". This time around, they're shredding through "Fear of the Dark", which nabbed the NWOBHM trailblazers their first GRAMMY nod back in 1994.

"Beer in the Park" is all in good fun, but Insanity Alert know how to honor the classics. Don Melanzani pushes the pace with a chugging D-beat. Even after several dozen waterfalls, there's no cooling down The Inphiltrator's enthusiasm for heavy downpicked riffs.

“We think of our renditions as tributes to the greatness of the original songs”, Insanity Alert says. “Mixing their greatness with our blend of speed, fun, brutality and weirdness just feels right”.

The video for "Beer in the Park" was produced, filmed and edited by Max 'Mugs' Raggl in Innsbruck, Austria during April 2024 (www.mugs.at).

Music written by Steve Harris.

Rearranged / deranged by Insanity Alert & Matthias Mayr.

Lyrics by Heavy Kevy.

Recorded, mixed & mastered by Andy Reinhardt at Subsound Station, Telfs, Austria.

[Movie trailer voice] In a world that’s plagued by war, natural disasters and TikTok dance challenges, one band are hell-bent on partying like there’s no tomorrow. Sure, the hangovers might hit a little harder now that they’re four albums in. But on Moshemian Thrashody, Insanity Alert are still nothing but a good time.

Ski parties visit Austria for its powdered slopes, but when Insanity Alert banded together from around Innsbruck in 2011, these adrenaline junkies had a different, more dangerous type of shredding in mind.  Their destructive appetite for ‘80s crossover thrash is only rivaled by an unquenchable thirst for ice-cold beer.

While under the influence of older party monsters like Suicidal Tendencies and Municipal Waste, Insanity Alert roll their riffs with the same strand of humor as labelmates Cannabis Corpse. Their songs parody everyone from perennial punching bags like David Guetta and Milli Vanilli to sacred cows Iron Maiden.

“We think of our renditions as tributes to the greatness of the original songs”, the band says. “Mixing their greatness with our blend of speed, fun, brutality and weirdness just feels right.

On the strength of their demo tape alone, Insanity Alert sent skate punks and metalheads running into the pit. First Diagnosis was quickly confirmed by follow-up EP Second Opinion. Critics properly diagnosed their self-titled full-length as a much-needed dose of derangement, but the band has upped their prescription of snot-nosed speed and grinding d-beats with each release.

Moshburger was served up in 2016 while Insanity Alert were on tour with Hatebreed, Madball, Terror and Power Trip. They then shared a 666-Pack with festivalgoers at Wacken Open Air. With names like Slapmaster Puke and The Inphiltrator, this band will go to comically absurd lengths just to jump into the circle pit with their fans -- so long as there’s a full fridge and good bud(s) waiting backstage. When Insanity Alert played the main stage at Hellfest in 2019, Dave of the Death could barely feel his fretting hand after taking one heck of a stage dive the night before.

Moshemian Thrashody keeps the festivities going with new parodies of familiar classics like Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden. One might surprise you, though. Lead single “Beerless Fiesta” gives the crossover thrash treatment to (checks notes) George Michael? Insanity Alert aren’t going into mosh retirement anytime soon, though. The title track sees Queen’s theatrics and raises it with a clown car full of hijinks, including a Hauwitzer guitar solo that pops off like a bottle of champagne. Don Melanzani chugs down blast beats as the band joins in an acapella gang chant about “letting it snow” with Santa Claus that’s rowdier than a German beer hall.

“These are some killer tunes that we threw in our drunken 420 blender”, says Heavy Kevy. “Moshemian Thrashody rides the thin line between familiar and super awkward – like seeing your old grandpa in the mosh pit or masturbating for the first time with your other hand”.

After almost 15 years of bringing crossover thrash to party animals everywhere, Insanity Alert will still go anywhere the weed blows.

Hilllhaven, Featuring Current + Former Members of Ice Nine Kills + From Ashes to New, Share "The God You Think You Are"

Current and former members of Ice Nine Kills and From Ashes to New have formed a brand new band called HILLHAVEN. Last month, they shared the video for the debut single "Damned to Dream." Watch it here

Now, they are back with another track — and it's quite the rager.

They have shared the visualizer for "The God You Think You Are." Watch and listen Below.

"'The God You Think You Are' is a frontal assault on the manipulative narcissist," the band states. "At one point or another, we've all endured this type of personality — whether that be through family, friends or even within ourselves. It's an aggressive, forward, unapologetic ego killer of a song."

The lineup is comprised of Chris Kelly (ex-INK, ex-Galactic Empire, and who is rumored to play for Babymetal's band) on vocals, as well as From Ashes to New's Maty Madiro on drums; Ice Nine Kills' Ricky Armellino on guitars; live From Ashes to New member Jimmy Bennett on guitars; and bassist Jaime GoWell.

COLIN STOUGH IS LOOKIN’ FOR HOME – OUT 7/12

With the buzz around 19 Recordings/BMG Nashville artist Colin Stough building, the singer-songwriter claims a place to make his creative stand with the new EP, Lookin’ For HomeReleasing July 12, fans can now pre-save/pre-add Lookin’ For Home and get a preview of the project with pensive track “Sober” Below.

“Each one of these songs is a piece of my heart, and they outline trials and tribulations that I’ve been through personally. They’ve made me into who I am today,” shares Stough. “The EP title Lookin’ For Home comes from that feeling that something is missing – that no matter where you are, who you’re with, or what you’re doing, you feel like you don’t belong, and there’s something just over the horizon that would make it better.”

Carving out a high-energy corner at the intersection of Country and Southern Rock, Lookin’ For Homefeatures six songs sharpening Stough’s hard-edged vision of musical honesty. The follow-up to his Promiseland EP debutLookin’ For Home burns with even more passion and raw vocal strength, presenting a full-spectrum view of a free spirit on the run, who’s painfully aware of life’s difficult contradictions. Dealing with everyday themes like work and weekends, and true love and the torment of heartbreak, the set never shies away from the messy truth – and with Stough featured as a writer on every track, that messy truth often grapples with the dividing line between right and wrong, tradition and ambition, the push and pull between small-town comfort, and the drive to leave his mark on the outside world.

Meanwhile, all throughout songs like the recently released “Makes Two of Us,” Stough wraps reflections on vulnerability, hope, belonging, and more, in an electrifying new sound, fusing the familiar crunch of Country Rock with a dark, gravelly take. Weaving it all together with a dynamic Mississippi rasp, he matches down-home tenderness with icy explosions of pure power in equal measure, as a burgeoning star rises firmly on his own.

Delivered today (5/24), he further captures the crippling torment of a bleeding heart in “Sober.” Built around the bitter sting of a breakup, the slow-burning ballad was co-written by Stough with Mason Thornley and Sam Martinez. All about missing someone so bad you can’t even numb the pain – “I could hang out all night / I could drink this bottle dry / Trying to get me gone and I ain't getting any closer / Without your love I’m sober” – a woozy mix from producer Martinez creates a tone that stands on the edgy fringe of Stough’s peers. Pairing down-tuned acoustic twang and a lonesome slide guitar, the track’s building blocks make for a weary ballad of emotional desperation. But when Stough’s powerful, bluesy vocal ruptures into the chorus, the true toll of finding no relief takes center stage.

Taking his new music on the road this summer, Stough’s stacking music festival dates like CMA Fest 2024 on June 8 on the Hard Rock Stage in Nashville, TN. Doubling up appearances, the Season 21 finalist on American Idol will also join a program at Fan Fair X inside Music City Center on the CMA Close Up Stage for “Idol Hour with Chayce Beckham, HunterGirl, Colin Stough and ‘American Idol’ Season 22 Runner Ups Jack Blocker and Will Moseley.” Find additional details here.

ABOUT COLIN STOUGH:
While Country Rock phenom and Gattman, Mississippi, native Colin Stough is only knocking on the door to his twenties, he has traversed a long journey in a few short years – starting with his debut EP Promiseland and follow-up EP Lookin’ For Home (expected July 12). After learning to play guitar at 8 years old, Stough first pursued his artistic dreams at 10, boldly trading childhood possessions for his first guitar at a local pawn shop – an instrument he still plays to this day. After graduating high school, the naturally gifted singer and self-taught songwriter began working full-time as an HVAC technician, before his mother convinced him to audition for American Idol. Impressing judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie, Stough stunned viewers and soon built a thriving fan base, finishing third on Season 21 of the show in 2023. He spent the ensuing months writing and recording original music, while also touring nationwide to put his blowtorch vocal and guitar-slinging edge on full display. After signing with 19 Recordings/BMG Nashville, his distinctive mix of Southern Rock distortion and pure-Country style has helped Stough’s music rack up more than 19.8 MILLION global on-demand streams. Stough has headlined across the country and opened for established artists like Chase Matthew, Kidd G, and Drake White.

Canadian indie folk trio Wild Remedy gets to the root of life on new 'Home Song' single

"Wild Remedy's inevitable success will rest entirely on their undeniable raw talent... utterly captivating. The band creates music that feels eternally relevant, their voices blending seamlessly to ground us emotionally before launching us into a world of soaring melodies" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Canadian indie folk trio Wild Remedy presents their effervescent single 'Home Song', previewing their debut 'Songs From Home' EP.  Making music that radiates like a beacon of hope, this all-female trio of Ottawa-born musicians' music is rooted in a love for chilling harmonies and all things folk.

Every folk band needs a song about home, and “Home Song” is Wild Remedy’s take. Paying homage to their folk roots, the lyrics mimic the simplicity found in many Americana-Country songs, yet draw in the dynamic storytelling key of the indie-folk genre. This near-title track is sure to have audiences tappin’ and clappin’ along with catchy percussion, and an unforgettable sound.

Wild Remedy is made up of Amy Russett, Colleen Roberston and Shay Mahoney, who now has one foot in Ottawa and one in Montreal. Influenced by everything from alternative pop to folk-rock, gospel to disco, the band has been an emerging force in the Canadian folk scene since 2022, entertaining audiences with their catchy originals, new takes on folk classics, and haunting harmonies.

With strong harmonies and upbeat folk acoustics as strong points, Wild Remedy's songs range from a classic stomp-and-holler sound that makes you want to dance, to thought-provoking indie vibes that leave the listener feeling uplifted. Wild Remedy spins a beautiful sonic web between singer-songwriter offerings, indie pop and Canadian folk - perhaps what it might sound like if Joni Mitchell and Boygenius had a not-so-secret folk band.

“I initially wrote ‘Home Song’ to poke a bit of fun at our folk genre; every folk band needs a song about ‘home’. I had the guitar melody written for a while and it just lived in my voice recordings for about six months (along with many other half-written songs). But the lyrics came one night as I took the metro home after shooting pool with a friend," says Shay Mahoney.

"I was thinking about how life might be different if I had chosen a different career path, lived in a different city, or maybe just stayed home in Ottawa after high school. But as I thought about it, I discovered that more things make up ‘home’ than we realize. And ‘Home Song’ was born from this discovery: I could wander ‘round the globe, and home would still be found in the places where – and in the people with whom – I know I belong.”

Their forthcoming debut EP 'Songs from Home' is an honest collection about the realities of growing up and becoming, set to dance-worthy rhythms and unforgettable melodies. The release includes Wild Remedy's first singles 'What I Did Find' and 'Wild Remedy', as well as new folk hits that both stir the heart and echo the bright sound and iconic harmonies that the band has become known for.

Having bonded over their mutual love of music and songwriting, the trio met in 2020 and finally and made their local debut in 2022, performing at farmers markets around the Ottawa area. With Amy’s powerhouse vocals and guitar, Colleen’s smooth alto tones, and Shay’s ability to sing and play anything (including guitar, mandolin, cajon and harmonica), folks started to take notice. In 2023, the band released their first two original single songs, involving producer Nate Hardy, which were met with loads of love and grew them a grassroots fanbase.

With the release of their debut EP, Wild Remedy breathes fresh life into the Canadian folk genre by taking listeners on a journey of self-discovery to an inspiring soundtrack that will leave a lasting echo in the listener's heart. 'Songs From Home' is Wild Remedy's invitation to be part of something truly inspiring, invigorating and soul-nourishing.

'Home Song' is available everywhere digitally, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. The full 'Songs From Home' EP will be released on June 14. Wild Remedy's EP release party will take place in Ottawa on June 21, followed by 'The Wild Tour' with Wild Bloom, and a handful of shows in July and August.
