Miranda Lambert Calls on Fans to Fill the Little Red Wagon for MuttNation Animal Shelters on 'The Bandwagon Tour'

As reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and life-long animal advocate Miranda Lambert prepares to kick off The Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town and The Cadillac Three, shelter pets across the country are just as excited as her fans. MuttNation’s Fill the Little Red Wagon presented by Tractor Supply Company will collect pet food, treats, supplies and cash donations for a pre-selected local animal shelter at the entrance of each performance venue on the 15-date tour.

In addition to The Bandwagon Tour stops, Fill the Little Red Wagon will also be onsite in Franklin, Tenn. for Lambert’s headlining show on the eve of her highly anticipated new studio album, Palomino, set for release April 29 via Vanner Records/RCA Nashville.

Marillion unleash video for ‘A Friend For The Earth

If you dive into Marillion’s extensive catalogue, you will find several songs that take on the topic of environment and humanity’s impact on it. The 1989 album and title track ‘Seasons End’ is only one of many examples.

Now, over 30 years later, in times of ‘Fridays For Future’, an ongoing pandemic and a general big uncertainty about the future of humanity, the topic does not lack relevance – quite the opposite!

Culminates Earth Day, Friday, April 22 with Living Shoreline Deployment

With Here And Now 2022 kicking off at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, April 23, No Shoes Reefs is celebrating Kenny Chesney’s return to the road by teaming with Tampa Bay Watch for five days of Earth Week activities, culminating with their Living Shoreline Project deploying Reef Balls filled with Saltmarsh Grass and planting Saltmarsh Grass behind them to prevent further erosion and rebuild lost shoreline on Friday, April 22.

“Talk about a way to merge my worlds,” Chesney says. “We have been doing various projects around the country. But when Tampa Bay Watch had a week of actual activities designed to not just walk people through the process, but teach them how to not only make Reef Balls but allow people to deploy the Reef Balls filled with Saltmarsh Grass on Earth Day, it was the best kind of synergy possible.”

The week’s activities are part of a cumulative activation. On April 19, Reef Balls will be built. On April 20, Saltmarsh Grass will be harvested for the Reef Balls. On April 21, the Reef Balls will be filled with the Saltmarsh Grass for the Earth Day deployment on April 22.

The Living Shoreline Project will sink the Reef Balls into the sediment, where they are heavy enough to remain lodged and allow the Saltmarsh Grass to grow. Their presence protects the shore from further erosion, and the Saltmarsh grass growth and eventual coral growth rebuilds the shoreline that’s been lost since the ‘50s.

Three No Shoes Reefs Ambassadors from Ohio, long time members of No Shoes Nation who’ve taken up the cause, are participating in Friday’s activities, making it truly hands on for NSN and NSR. And to mark the occasion, a special sea grass green t-shirt marking the partnership with Tampa Bay Watch – each made from five repurposed plastic bottles – will be made available to support their alliance at www.league-legacy.com/pages/noshoesreefs.

Compiled and sequenced by Hall, BeforeAfter features thirty tracks spanning all five of his solo albums, from the 1980’s Robert Fripp-produced Sacred Songs through 2011’s Laughing Down Crying, which was co-produced with longtime Hall compatriot T-Bone Wolk, who sadly passed before the album was released. Psychedelic stoner rock trio SOMALI YACHT CLUB will be releasing their third full-length, 'The Space,' tomorrow, April 22, via Season of Mist, making it the band's debut to the label! SOMALI YACHT CLUB is a moniker designed to represent dichotomy and variance. Named after the real-life pirates who attack vessels off the Somalian coast and the peaceful leisure of those with time to kill and money to burn, SOMALI YACHT CLUB musically embodies the boundless, wide-open, quiet/loud spaces that atmospheric post-rock and metal occupy. After over a decade of mesmerizing audiences in their Ukrainian home base and Eastern Europe, SOMALI YACHT CLUB inked a deal with Season of Mist in 2021 to reissue their back catalogue and release their third full-length, The Space.

The band’s story began in 2010 when guitarist/vocalist Ihor sent drummer Lesyk a random message on a Ukrainian musician’s forum to play a hybrid of math rock, post-hardcore, stoner and post-metal. Intrigued, Lesyk called bassist Artur to create the band’s first (and only) lineup. The initial jam sessions went so well that the trio decided to move forward on a permanent basis. Relying on albums such as Moccasin’s The Last Leaf, Ahkmed’s early EPs, Mars Red Sky’s self-titled, the entire Sungrazer discography and the legendary Isis duo of Oceanic and Panopticon, as well as Down, Electric Wizard, Queens of the Stone Age and now-labelmates Weedeater, the SOMALI YACHT CLUBsound was formulated.

“It was a very naive and simple time,” comments the band. “Ihor, as always, was full of energy and it was not enough for him for the bands in which he played at the time. We just started to jam and found the blend that fits all of us. Also, we always loved bands and particular songs that are eclectic — we get a lot of inspiration from such things. They are fun to play and hopefully fun to listen to.”

However broad and varied their influences may be, SOMALI YACHT CLUBstarted to forge their own path via their self-released 2011 Sandsongs and 2013 Desert Walls EP. The pair laid the groundwork for their formidable full-length debut, The Sun, which channeled spaced-out, psychedelic jams with churning stoner doom metal. Their amalgamation of all-things stoner continued through the 2015 Sun’s Eyes EP and 2018 The Sea full-length, the latter noted by The Sludgelord that it “succeeds in taking the listener on that well-known ride of warm tones and meandering melodies” and MetalStorm.net stating, “SOMALI YACHT CLUB offers up a fresh spin on a rich but well-explored genre and in doing so deliver one of the early highlights of 2018.”

The new year brings forth The Space. The album was tracked at various points throughout 2021 at Jenny Records near Lviv, Ukraine, with mixing and mastering courtesy of Yaroslav Tseluiko at Jaro Sound in the Czech Republic. The cover depicts a supernova and was handled by Dasha Pliska, who was also responsible for The Sun and The Sea artwork. The Space also completes the trilogy that began with The Sun and The Sea, but, according to the band, there is no unifying theme.

“It’s a bit hard to tell a real story in our music because, let’s be honest — it’s still more instrumental-focused. The Space is very loosely connected to a single concept as it has even more abstract and personal lyrical themes. Also, the song ‘Pulsar’ was the first written and named song for this album, so it set a path for the title.”

The Space finds SOMALI YACHT CLUB now in full expanse of their sonic elements, delivering six cuts of atmospheric post-rock/metal with dashes of melancholy and introspection. Ihor’s relaxed, if not smooth delivery runs parallel to his driving, fuzzed-out riffs that are dotted with traces of melody. The rhythm section of Artur and Lesyk is the undisputed anchor, maintaining a careful ebb and flow that embellishes songs that demand room to breathe and require texture and thoughtfulness — notably the 12-minute-plus closer, “Momentum,” which features one of the band’s finest jams to date. Such numbers resulted from SOMALI YACHT CLUB’s regular practice sessions that bore more than enough new material.

“We wrote The Space pretty much the same way as the previous two,” says the band. “We brought an idea or a riff to rehearsal, play and jam it a lot of times to see if it doesn’t go stale, record demos, listen, think, re-think, change everything and so on. This time we went to the studio with more than enough material — some even didn’t get a proper recording as we understood it needed even more time to mature and be reconsidered. Some ideas became an outtake; some songs were created right in the studio.”

Like their name serving a dual purpose, so does SOMALI YACHT CLUB’s output on The Space. The album contains a regular balancing act between heaviness and soft, clean guitar moments that will place SOMALI YACHT CLUB into the echelons of bands who have previously mastered the timeless art of dynamics. The Space is the perfect elixir in a time rife with uncertainty, menace and chaos. Alas, the new age of stoner has arrived.

Cage Fight Share Visualizer for "Killer" Video + It HURTS!

SELF-TITLED ALBUM OUT MAY 13 VIA CANDLELIGHT

Hardcore x thrash crossover band Cage Fight have dropped the new single "Killer." Listen to and watch the visualizer below.

Bassist Jon Reid explains, "'Killer' is a release of anger and fury directed at anyone that has caused wrong and is a rallying cry to those that feel pure visceral rage and need a soundtrack to that pure emotion. The song's intensity is based in a simple remit, if you have wronged... you better start running..."

The tracks accompanying video clip documents frontwoman Rachel Aspe tattooing the band's logo on a client's palm. The resulting image — a grabbing hand with the Cage Fight logo tattooed at the center — visually portrays the violent rage at the core of the band's music and was aptly used as the album artwork.

"I wanted to create artwork that represents pain, anger, resilience, and power – themes of our music," Aspe shares. "The palm is extremely painful to tattoo, so the palm-tattooed hand clawing the air in a red mist does this very aggressively. I tattooed a very brave model at Evil From The Needle in Camden; the hand had to be strapped down, and it took two tortuous hours."

Irish indie alt-rock band Friendmaker presents ‘Weird’, the second single from their forthcoming debut album. Musically, this deliberately repetitive ear worm subtly changes on each refrain, reflecting the abstractions of dreamlike repetition. With audio samples of Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Jung’s dream theory bookending the piece, this is three minutes of rhythmic indie rock with hooky melodies and pounding choruses.

This release also includes a previously unreleased B-side called ‘Leaky Mick and Vinny P the Talker’. On both tracks, Marron’s endearing storytelling approach and insightful lyrics blend with a rich soundtrack of carefully crafted folk-tinged indie rock.

A five-piece fronted by singer, songwriter and producer David Marron (Sanzkrit, Somefinn), Friendmaker hails from Carrickmacross (County Monaghan). Marron (vocals and guitar) is joined by Maolíosa McMahon (vocals and keys), Paul Finn (guitar and vocals), Paul Markey (bass) and Fintan Marron (drums).

Last month, the band released their debut single 'You, Me and Everything Else', an endearing and reflective folk song that wilfully loses itself to a darker undertow - the pause before a new chapter and love beyond the initial spark and the early excitement. The new release sees the band up the energy with their indie rock influences on show.

Speaking on the new release ‘Weird’, songwriter David Marron says, "Lyrically, the song searches for meaning in a recurring dream, examining the semi-consciousness experienced between waking and sleeping, specifically the changeover between abstraction and lucidity and asks why the events of a dream often stay with us beyond slumber, dictating our conscious mood as if rooted in reality? Do we pay enough attention to the foreshadowing presented in our recurring dreams? And can we afford to ignore a subconscious that consistently throws up a repeated story line?"

The accompanying video takes its cues from the artwork of the De Stijl movement. Like the works of Mondrian and Van Doesburg, the video attempts to distill its subject matter to the very simplest form. The minimalistic primary colours of DeStijl are gone. Refined further to a monochromatic palette that basks in its own absurdity. A fragmented surrealism unfolds to the song’s rhythmic patterns attempting to smother the viewer in what could and should be a straight forward performance video. A suffocating truncation of half shots and obscured movements creates any perceptual discomfort.

Marron, who also created this video, notes, "I wanted the viewer to feel uneasy, almost frustrated by not seeing the whole picture. As close as I could get to creating that confused dreamlike experience.”

After Marron's previous band Sanzkrit ground to a halt, Marron found himself trying to fill a void by playing guitar in a few bands DJing, doing graphic design for bands and running an Arts Festival. Even though he was keeping busy in creative fields, he felt he was still ignoring a big and important part of himself. He notes, "Music was solely personal therapy for dealing with difficulty. It wasn’t something I really felt like sharing at that time.”

On April 21st, ‘Weird’ will be released via the band's own imprint House of Strange Vinyl and will be available everywhere digitally, including Bandcamp, where 'You, Me & Everything Else' can also be found.

American Hard Rock band Artifas was formed in 2011 in Jackson, TN by lead guitarist Cody Criswell and lead vocalist Scottie Somerville. In the months following, the two founders of the group would immediately recruit an assortment of hometown musicians and begin looking to record their debut EP. After having a long and ugly encounter that resulted in the theft of all the bands funds and receiving no album in return, the original incarnation of the group would spend 2012-2013 doing several independent tours and writing music. After debuting with their EP Enemy Inside in 2013 and doing numerous regional/national tours in support of it, the band replaced former members with guitarist Mikey Miller, bassist Anthony Mattox, and drummer Jared Wainscott.

With almost two years of touring with the new lineup under their belts, Artifas inked themselves a record deal and hit the studio to make their first full length album. The 2015 release of the title track, “Inhuman,” would bring the band some commercial success, reaching # 32 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart and sending the band on the road in support of their new album. The band landed tours with established artists like Theory of a Deadman, Shamans Harvest, Pop Evil, Saint Asonia, Aranda, and others. The follow up single from that record, “Blood 4 Blood”, would later get picked up by the World Series of Fighting and subsequently land a feature in the UFC movie “Fight Valley”. The band parted ways with their record label in 2016, and remained on tour throughout the US for most of the following year, also traveling internationally for the first time with the likes of Papa Roach, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Trapt, and Sick Puppies to play for our American Troops.

Multiple tour cycles later, Artifas found themselves back in the studio making new music. The band worked with multiple writers and producers throughout the entirety of 2018, but would ultimately only find themselves frustrated with the recordings that resulted. After a soul search within the group, Artifas elected to embrace their own vision and write/produce their next album independently, free from the creative overreach of outside influence.

After two years of writing, recording, and mixing, Artifas completed the new album, and unleashed it upon the world. With catchy guitar riffs, dizzying drums, and soaring melodies, Reflections will send you on an emotional journey, exploring the band’s semi-prog, radio rock sound while diving deeper into the human complex with lyrics centered around self awareness and the bands own struggles with mental health. The goal for the creation of this album was to make a record that met the band’s expectations and you can rest assured they held nothing back. Mixed and Mastered by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Reflections promises to wow you with musical prowess, all the while delivering Artifas’ important message on unity, inspiration, and the sempiternal battle between dark and light.

Polish death metal masters DECAPITATED are set to release their new masterpiece Cancer Culture on May 27th and surprise their fans with a stunning new single and video.

This is what metalheads have been waiting for - a duett with one of the most amazing and outstanding female metal vocalists - Tatiana Shmayluk from the mighty JINJER.

Tatiana, a formidable screamer, went the clean vocal route for this track, enriching “Hello Death” with a moody vibe and an undeniable hook.

Vogg says, "JINJER is one of the most interesting metal acts of the last few years. And Tatiana’s vocals in the song will surprise some people. It’s really unique and amazing.
With this song, we have achieved something remarkable. We have combined two different musical styles in 'Hello Death'. As you all know, we love to add something interesting to our music. With 'Hello Death' we managed to unite our style of technical death metal with Tatiana's vocals, which adds an absolutely different epic dimension. Tatiana has one of the most incredible voices in the metal scene, and it was a wholly different and exciting experience to work with her on this track. Her voice filled the song with other emotions, which completed the meaning behind the lyrics. The song is about the fight between life and death, where we connected brutal, heavy riffs with feminine, lyrical vocals, which are powerful, influential, and straight to the point. The video was filmed in March with Grupa 13 in Poland, while Tatiana was filming her part in a studio in the USA.

The primary place for the video was a tiny and one of the oldest existing baroque Evangelical churches in Poland, built between 1743 and 1749, in Goszcz.
