Multi-Platinum hitmakers Eli Young Band kick off the new year with a brand new single that offers a fresh take on the early stages of a relationship with the romantic offering. Available everywhere now via The Valory Music Co., listen to “Love Talking” below.
Written by lead singer Mike Eli together with Jeffrey East and Eric Arjes, who also produced the song alongside Jimmy Robbins, the track chronicles the morning-after emotions of a vulnerable love-drunk conversation:
When I let it slip that I
Wanted you for my whole life
And you and me turned into us
That was just the love talking
The GRAMMY-nominated group’s latest single builds upon recent release “Lucky For Me,” with both songs offering a preview of their forthcoming project planned for later this year.
Since the band’s formation as college classmates 20 years ago, the Associated Press has celebrated EYB as “a smart, relevant antidote” to overdone clichés in Country music. The band has amassed 14 Billboard charting singles, including four No. 1 hits via 3x Platinum “Crazy Girl” and 2x Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” plus Platinum “Love Ain’t” and “Drunk Last Night,” while also earning an ACM Award for Song of the Year as well as multiple GRAMMY, CMA, CMT, ACA and Teen Choice Award nominations.
The musical band of brothers – Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson – play their own instruments, write their own songs and cling fast to their Texas roots. While selling out venues from coast-to-coast as strong headliners, EYB has also shared the stage with Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Chris Young, Darius Rucker and Dave Matthews Band.

Walker Hayes Releases New Track "Drinking Songs" Today from Forthcoming COUNTRY STUFF THE ALBUM (Out 1/21/22)
After announcing the upcoming release of his highly-anticipated Country Stuff The Album (available 1/21) and simultaneously dropping his latest, rising single “AA,” GRAMMY-nominated Walker Hayes continues to deliver new music with his latest track, “Drinking Songs” on Monument Records.
Joining prior releases including his current single “AA,” “U Gurl” and his first No. 1 song “Fancy Like,” “Drinking Songs” features Hayes’ signature witty lyrics, sticky melodies and autobiographical storylines. Written by Hayes along with Jordan Gray and produced by “Fancy Like” collaborator Joe Thibodeau and Multi-GRAMMY Award Winner Shane McAnally, the new track finds Hayes paradoxically declaring his love of drinking songs while proudly six years sober – he may have quit drinking, yet he can’t quite surrender Country music’s longstanding devotion to songs about them.
“‘Drinking Songs’ is one of my favorites off the new album,” shares Hayes. “I don’t drink anymore but I still connect with how a song can get you through, just like a drink can for some people. We’ve all been in a bar full of people singing together, arms around each other. Plus, the lyrics and the beat just have a relatable quality to them that feels so country to me.”
With a tribute to the traditions the great Hank Williams Jr. has long sang about, “Drinking Songs” calls to Bocephus for guidance:
SO GIVE ME THAT BOURBON AND BOCEPHUS
I CAN’T HELP ME SO HELP ME JESUS
SHE AIN’T COMING BACK LIKE YOU SHE GONE
SO WHAT I NEED IS IN WILLIAM’S VOICE RIGHT NOW
HANK AND EVAN DON’T LET ME DOWN
BRING THEM FAMILY TRADITIONS ON
I’MMA JUST KEEP SITTIN AND SIPPIN’ AND SINGING ALONG
THANK GOD FOR DRINKING AND DRINKING SONGS

INFECTED RAIN Reveals Standout Fourth Single "Longing" + Official Music Video
New Album, Ecdysis, out Today via Napalm Records
Order HERE
Moldovan progressive modern metal unit INFECTED RAIN will finally reveal the highly anticipated next chapter of their metamorphosis – their otherworldly fifth album, Ecdysis – today via Napalm Records!
Garnering more media buzz than ever before, today, the band wraps up their onslaught of new singles with the release of standout track "Longing" and its eerie, thrilling new music video. The track ransacks with instant angst while showcasing some of the most varying guitar work on the album, fluxing between churning grooves, towering leads, technical effects and ominous chords.
Frontwoman Lena Scissorhands says about “Longing”:
"Never happy, never content! We spend our lives craving and longing for things that someone else has or for things that we think will make us happy.
'A picture immaculate, perfectly designed.
A story in which you’re always desired.'
What is happiness really?"
Watch the official music video for “Longing”
INFECTED RAIN have become one of the most exciting new acts in the heavy music world, with charismatic, multi-talented frontwoman Lena Scissorhands emerging as one of the fastest-rising leading ladies of the genre. Now, the band arises from the dark depths once again. Produced once again by Valentin Voluta, Ecdysis successfully demonstrates ultramodern brutality without sacrificing emotion and melody – showcasing a new layer of INFECTED RAIN that longtime followers and new fans alike will embrace.
Frontwoman Lena Scissorhands adds about Ecdysis:
"While the whole world was in a deep depression, Ecdysis was slowly but surely maturing. The time in isolation away from all our plans and goals, away from loved ones and the stage, brought out something so new and different in us. A new chapter starts with this album, a chapter of raw emotions and complete commitment."
First single “Postmortem Pt. 1” dispenses the patented INFECTED RAIN formula instantly, with eerie synth-laden soundscapes seamlessly cascading into countless layers of otherworldly atmosphere backed by thick, grooving riffs, barreling drums and skyscraper growls. Tracks like “Fighter” bring out the ruthlessness of the band in full force with hardcore levels of aggression, inciting a tornado of rhythms and provoking lyricism beckoning the listener to stay focused in the here-and-now and fight! Featuring tough-as-nails Butcher Babies vocalist Heidi Shepherd, sonically slaughtering single “The Realm Of Chaos” pummels and bends as it decimates with a mosh-attack unlike any other on Ecdysis. Noteworthy standouts like “Longing” and “These Walls” ransack with instant angst, while selections such as “Everlasting Lethargy”, “November” and “Never The Same” boast some of Lena Scissorhands’ most eclectic vocal performances amid ripping pit-worthy metalcore and dazzling electronic passages. Examples of stunning, dynamic songwriting manifest with honest offerings like the impressive “Goodbye”, haunting “Showers” and threatening album closer “Postmortem Pt. 2” (shortly advanced by sneaking electro-interlude “Nine, Ten”). The finisher encapsulates the album’s ethereal, immense quality while connecting back to its start like a sonic ouroboros. Produced once again by Voluta Valentin, Ecdysis successfully demonstrates ultramodern brutality without sacrificing emotion and melody – showcasing a new layer of INFECTED RAIN that longtime followers and new fans alike will embrace.

ETERNAL FREQUENCY Release Cinematic, Sci-Fi Official Music Video for “Step Up”!
Harrisburg, PA based Heavy Rock band ETERNAL FREQUENCY has released a dark, cinematic, sci-fi imbued official music video for their newest single, "Step Up." Produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Atrium Audio, the music video for "Step Up" was directed and edited by Tom Flynn.
"’Step Up’ is our hardest hitting, heaviest material to date and sure to be a game changer. The song screams female empowerment and refusing to be pigeonholed in the industry. The video concept was created from the minds of Emelle (Lead Vox) and Justin (Lead Guitar) and inspired by Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal, Blade Runner, and CyberPunk. Emelle and the other members of Eternal Frequency are prisoners of conscience on the run from a yet unknown organization trying to pick them off one by one. The reasons on why they are wanted fugitives is a mystery until the story begins to unfold throughout the video. ‘Step Up’ is Chapter 1 of a fictional three part series that the band envisioned as a short film while the songs were being written. Emelle and the band must find out who is hunting them and why. Or maybe...just maybe...are the hunted actually the hunters?” - ETERNAL FREQUENCY
Established in the early spring of 2018, Eternal Frequency is a five piece female fronted all original hard rock band hailing from Central Pennsylvania (alongside hometown heroes Poison, From Ashes to New, Fuel, LIVE, August Burns Red). They follow in the footsteps of acts such as Spriritbox, Halestorm, Evanescence, and others. Blending influences of Metalcore, Hard rock, and Active Rock, Eternal Frequency brings a new energy that is also dominated by vocalist, songwriter, and frontwoman Emelle. In just under three years as a band they have released several studio singles as well as music videos including "Temptations", "Parasite", "What Are We Waiting For", "Head Like A Hole", and their very popular cover of Queen "The Show Must Go On" (all proceeds going to NIVA - National Independent Venue Association) to the masses and have been reaping nothing but positive energy and reviews from their supporters. They have accrued a massively strong following in the Pennsylvania area and have garnered attention in multiple regional markets.
They currently record with multi Grammy nominated producers Grant McFarland and Carson Slovak of Atrium Audio atriumaudio.com (From Ashes to New, August Burns Red, Erra, LIVE, Galactic Empire, Polaris) and established videographers SquareUp Studios (Lorna Shore, ATTILA) and Tom Flynn (All That Remains, Lamb of God, 10 Years, Fire From The Gods, Metal Allegiance)
As far as accomplishments go, they've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with established artists such as Of Mice & Men, Adelitas Way, FUEL, Smile Empty Soul, Vixen, and Sponge, For the Fallen Dreams, Awake At Last, Eyes Set to Kill (to name a few). They also took home the award for Best New Artist at the 2019 Central Pennsylvania Music Awards and had the pleasure to honor Halestorm (Inductees) with their rendition of "Familiar Taste of Poison" at the 2020 CPMA's. In addition, EF was nominated for Best Hard Rock Band and Song of the Year.
JACK FROST’S BROTHERS IN ARMS RELEASE LATEST SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR “MAKE YOU MINE”, FEATURING KEITH ST JOHN
JACK FROST’S BROTHERS IN ARMS RELEASE LATEST SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR “MAKE YOU MINE”, FEATURING KEITH ST JOHN (MONTROSE, KINGDOME COME, BURNING RAIN) ON VOCALS. THE DEBUT ALBUM ‘SUNSET AND CLARK’ WAS RELEASED LAST YEAR THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT.
Brothers In Arms is the brainchild of guitarist/composer Jack Frost (Savatage, Seven Witches, Lizzy Borden, etc…), who along with several recruited iconic rock brothers, has made it his mission to prove rock music will never die. The guys unified to take a stand against the doubters and cynics who have claimed that it's simply not possible to resurrect this celebrated music in which so many lasting and fond memories were built around. Banding together, Jack & the Brothers forged ahead with one main goal: To make quality music that would both represent and immortalize the days of the sold-out legendary rock venues, to show the world that rock is not just a thing of the past.
The Brothers are back with their latest single and video for the track “Make You Mine”. The song was written by Keith St John and Angel keyboardist Charlie Calv, and also features a guest solo by Dave Amato of REO Speedwagon, Keith had this to say about it “Twas a thrill having playboy playmate Katie play the long lost homebound flame in the new Brothers in Arms video for "Make You Mine! At a time when COVID restrictions were at an all time high I think we got lucky and hopefully portrayed the essence of "spouse on the rock n roll road" while happenstance gave us accidental guest stars like Andrew Freeman, Britt Lightning, and many others! The biggest challenge was having only myself on set and Katie for just an hour while shooting on location and trying to keep it feeling fresh! Charlie Calv's keyboard riff performance as well as Dave Amato’s blazing axe were both shot remotely to helping build the stage for this iconic beauty! Pat Benatar’s bassist Mic Mahan 100% slays as the fortress for us all...and I hail Jack Frost for masterminding this song, this record, and including me as part of an amazing new refreshing collection of real deal killer rock music that digs way down!” Charlie continues, “Jack had asked me to contribute some songs to the album and I just happened to have this musical idea I was working on so I sent over a demo of it and was really thrilled with the way it came out, the guys did a great job and Keith really just nailed the vibe and wrote some great melodies and lyrics to it”.
View video below.
Brothers In Arms also features Karl Wilcox (Diamond Head), Alex Jansen (Hardline), Andrew Freeman (Last In Line, Lynch Mob), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot), Steve Overland (FM, Overland), Nick Walsh (Moxy, Slik Toxik), Jesse Damon (Silent Rage), Todd Poole (Roxy Blue, Saliva), plus special guest Mick Mahan (Pat Benatar).

Bad Omens Drops New Music Video For "ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE" From Upcoming Album 'The Death Of Peace Of Mind' Out February 2
Taken From Their Upcoming Album
'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND'
Out Friday, February 25 via Sumerian Records
Pre-Order Here
Los Angeles-based rock sensation Bad Omens have unleashed the official music video for their crushing track "ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE". The song is taken from the band's upcoming new album, 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND', out on Friday, February 25, 2022, via Sumerian Records. Prior to today's release, Bad Omens have shared the music video for album title track "THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND" which has totaled a staggering 1.2 million views and countingon YouTube as well as the "What do you want from me?" and "ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE" double single. Watch the music video for "ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE" below and pre-order 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' here.
Bad Omens slither through boundaries, only to ultimately choke convention in the process. The quartet—Noah Sebastian (vocals), Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson (guitar), Nick Ruffilo (bass), and Nick Folio (drums)—materialize with ghostly atmospherics, striking hooks, and the tingles of sensual high-register harmonies uplifted by cinematic production. Racking up over 250M worldwide streams to date and earning acclaim, the band presents an uncompromising and undeniable vision on their third full-length album, 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' (Sumerian Records).
“Making the record changed us as songwriters and musicians. In many ways, I feel like it set me free as an artist because every decision made in the writing process was for myself, with no fear for anyone else’s expectations of what our third album should sound like. Be it our fans or our record label.”
They’ve always wielded this level of magic though…
The group’s 2016 self-titled debut, 'Bad Omens', yielded fan favorites such as “Glass Houses” and “The Worst In Me” which eclipsed 21.9 million Spotify streams. On its heels, 2019’s 'Finding God Before God Finds Me' spawned “Dethrone” (10.6 million Spotify streams) and “Careful What You Wish For” (9.5 million Spotify streams). Along the way, they toured with numerous marquee acts and received tastemaker praise.
After their first headline tour was canceled mid-way at the top of the global pandemic, the band found themselves at home in Los Angeles with plenty of time. Where they absorbed and imparted a different palette of unexpected inspirations. Channeling what the frontman describes at times as a “cursive sound” they embraced newfound confidence and boundlessly loose creativity. Anything went in the studio, and all “rules” were broken. Noah and Jolly wrote, produced, and engineered the music themselves while GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer and songwriter Zakk Cervini (Halsey, Grimes, Poppy, blink-182) lent his talents with the mix and master. Challenging himself, Noah decided to “make a track sampling items around the house, none of which were musical instruments”.
This ultimately became the framework for the first single “THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND”. Claps puncture the icy soundscape as his voice stretches from a breathy moan into an evocative and entrancing hook, breaking from a whisper into the seductive chant, “It wasn’t hard to realize. Love’s the death of peace of mind.” It culminates on a climactic scream uplifted by a distorted crunch.
“The whole record really details the loss of peace of mind,” he explains. “The lyrics in the title track are a little more specific in terms of the conflict at the heart of something more intimate and personal.”
By speaking it aloud, Bad Omens offer a level of comfort and empathy, with a sinister shroud. At the same time, they also give rock music a sexy new shape on 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND'.
“Sonically, we want to do something you can’t arrive late or early too,” he leaves off. “You can’t cheat your way to the final act. You have to get on the ride and process it until the end. The songs are meant to be heard from start to finish. We want you to take the whole trip with us.”

AMARANTHE – Start The Party With "PvP (Remix)"
Seven days into the new year, the party isn't over yet: Today, the Swedish metal heroes AMARANTHE release a remix of their new single "PvP" - a catchy, energetic piece built to break the dancefloors all over the world!
Check out this fresh anthem for the club season 2022 here: https://amaranthe.bfan.link/pvp-remix
Olof Mörck comments: "Let's start this year with a bang! If you're still horizontal from the holiday's indulgences, here's what we ordinate to get you picked up in style: a danceable yet crushing remix of 'PvP', that works as well with your gaming session as it does in the club! Remixed by Elias Holmlid, who has previously lent his talents to 'Amaranthine' and 'Crystalline', this interpretation will hit harder than any new year fireworks!"
"PvP" was the official anthem for the Swedish team at the international e-sports world championship. The video was directed by Poland's Grupa13, who previously worked with the band on 'Archangel' or 'Boom!'.

AMARANTHE have spent the last decade establishing themselves as a formidable, positive, and fervently melodic force for metallic good. From their explosive self-titled debut in 2011 to the more sophisticated, streamlined likes of 2014’s "Massive Addictive" and its immaculate follow-up "Maximalism" (2016), AMARANTHE has masterfully blurred the lines between melodic metal, crushing brutality, cinematic sweep, and futuristic sparkle. Led by the endlessly ingenious songwriting of guitarist Olof Mörck and powerhouse vocalist Elize Ryd, their rise to prominence has been a joy to behold.
Widely acclaimed as a dazzling live act, the Swedes reached a new peak of creativity on 2018’s hugely successful "Helix": an album that pushed the band’s vision to new heights, breadths, and depths, while showcasing the brilliance of Elize and her co-vocalists, Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson and recent recruit Nils Molin.
Not just a glorious return but a wholesale upgrade for their exuberant sound, "Manifest" is simply the most daring, dynamic, and unforgettable album that AMARANTHE has released to date. The perfect antidote to the nagging anxieties plaguing us all in these troubled times, it’s a Technicolor celebration of metal’s ageless power, blazing with all of life’s colors and chaos, but delivered with utmost artistry and skill.

With a show-stopping voice, runway-ready fashion swagger, and an empowering message, the Boston-raised and Los Angeles-based Mexican-Italian-American siren brings new fire to rock and alternative music.
Diamante spent her teenage years cutting her teeth at local gigs on the Sunset Strip to become the powerhouse performer she is today. A disciple of both P!nk and Guns N’ Roses who doesn’t fall into rockstar excess or even sport tattoos, she devoted every waking minute to honing a signature “hard rock sound with a modern alternative edge.” This unique and undeniable approach caught the attention of Better Noise Music who signed her in 2015. She hit the studio with super producer Howard Benson [My Chemical Romance, Halestorm, Kelly Clarkson] to record what would become her full-length debut, 'Coming In Hot'.
Now three years later, and after extensive touring with bands like Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Chevelle, and Shinedown… Diamante is in full force shining brighter than ever before. In 2019, Diamante reunited with Howard Benson along with Neil Sanderson of Judge & Jury as an independent artist to make her sophomore album, 'American Dream'. Diamante capitalized on her newfound ultimate creative freedom and independence by being her own CEO throughout every facet of the album process. On working with Benson and Sanderson, Diamante praises that they were instrumental in “bringing my stories to life and pushing me to embrace my vulnerabilities”. With her most recent music video for "Unlovable", she has also previously shared smash hits such as fan-favorites "Ghost Myself", "Serves You Right", the beautiful reimagination of Goo Goo Dolls classic "Iris" (featuring Breaking Benjamin), and "I Love Myself For Hating You".
'American Dream' shows exponential growth from 'Coming In Hot' sonically and in its raw authenticity, proving now more than ever that Diamante’s fearlessness to bare her soul in her music is what truly sets her apart.

XTC's Colin Moulding releases 'The Hardest Battle' CD via Burning Shed.
Music legend and XTC co-frontman Colin Moulding is back with new music, this time as a solo artist, presenting his new single 'The Hardest Battle', released as a CD single in 4-panel digisleeve via Burning Shed.
Containing two songs - 'The Hardest Battle', 'Say It (original version)', and an exploratory demo of the title track, The Hardest Battle represents XTC founding member Colin Moulding's first-ever fully solo release.
In celebration of this release, Colin Moulding also presents the video for the title track, directed and filmed by Henry Meredith at St Mary’s Uffington (interior) and Salisbury Cathedral (exterior). Featuring Tomas Silberberg as George IV, the costume was provided courtesy of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
This mini-EP offers a tantalizing glimpse into the creative process of one of the UK's finest songwriters, showcasing Colin’s English pop vision with XTC's trademark qualities of melody, rhythm, variety, and idiosyncratic subject matter, mixed in with nostalgia and a degree of pensiveness.
Following two releases with original XTC drummer Terry Chambers under the TC&Imoniker - the 'Great Aspirations' EP and the album 'Naked Flames: Live at Swindon Arts Centre', 'The Hardest Battle' is the first new material from Moulding in many years.
“To be nobody but yourself - in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you like everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle any human being can fight”... I saw these lines in a book I picked up in a secondhand bookshop and thought…maybe there’s a song there …I think it’s by the poet EE Cummins," says Colin Moulding.
"And there it was. All I had to do was come up with some music to marry to this notion. I do think most people aren’t themselves really, or become themselves eventually. And that struggle isn’t easy. I recorded this pretty much in isolation as most people have been this past year or so. One crazy year for all of us. Perhaps ‘The Hardest Battle’ we humans have faced externally, as well as the one we fight internally everyday,"
Founded in 1972, XTC only had their first UK charting single in 1979. Moulding wrote the first three charting singles ('Life Begins at the Hop', 'Making Plans for Nigel' and 'Generals and Majors'). Moulding continued with frontman Andy Partridge through the group's dissolution in 2006. In 1984, they also, along with XTC bandmate Dave Gregory and Ian Gregory, formed The Dukes of Stratosphear, anticipating and celebrated by retro-minded movements such as the Paisley Underground.
"About 'Say It', I just felt this track deserved a better fate than it got really. I wrote it for the XTC album that never was . But it ended up on a promo disk amongst XTC’s ‘Last Days of Rome’ This version feels much more akin to my original song mindset compared to the expedient I agreed to at the time," says Colin Moulding.
Regarding 'The Hardest Battle (First Exploratory Demo)', Moulding adds, "I think demos are much more of a demonstration to ones self than for other people. You have to find out what works and what doesn’t. Therefore, you shoot from the hip and just fire it out, and see what sticks. Larkin always said that he didn’t know what his poems were about initially until he got some way into them ;- that’s what this is;- I’m just ‘Larkin' around until it presents itself. Then the crossword puzzle can begin."
Released on July 2, 'The Hardest Battle' is available on CD single exclusively via Burning Shed at https://burningshed.com/store/ colin-moulding_store/colin- moulding_the-hardest-battle_cd

UK electro duo SPRAY will a more ethical 2022 in 'The Big Idea' single. New 'Ambiguous Poems About Death' LP is out now via Analogue Trash.
"'Fantastically catchy and grooving witty club anthem... this music has sprung from two brilliant minds" ~ Big Takeover Magazine
"The perfect blend of wit and wisdom, back street philosophies and lyrical gems... bubbling synth-pop groover running on digital waves and smooth electronic ebbs and flows" ~ The Swindonian
"What could be the long-lost track from Trainspotting or Human Traffic, pulsates with a youthful energy, likened to the chemical generation of the late 90s" ~ The Manc Review
"Sense of humour along with a talent for sharp, polished electronic pop. While the competition is quite fierce, Spray may have delivered one of the year’s finest albums" ~ The Electricity Club
"This is leftfield indie disco synthpop – with a big stick!" ~ RGM Magazine
"Smart, quirky and downright memorable" ~ The Spill Magazine
British dance-pop duo Spray present their clever and concept-packed single 'The Big Idea' from their new 12-track album 'Ambiguous Poems About Death', newly released via Manchester's Analogue Trash label. Packed full of acerbic wit with tongue firmly in cheek when needed for maximum effect, this album will delight fans new and old. Earlier, the duo previewed the singles 'Hammered in An Airport', 'Félicette (Space Cat)' and 'Blurred in the Background'.
Spray is music-addict siblings Jenny McLaren (vocals, guitars) and Ricardo Autobahn (synths), who have managed to build an enviable following for their brand of danceable and subversive indie disco pop since their 2002 debut ‘Living In Neon’ LP. Also responsible for a smash cover of Lisa Lougheed’s 'Run With Us' ('The Raccoons' theme song), their unique brand of oblique synth-pop is catchy as hell, bringing them mainstream pop success in an alternate universe.
"The Big Idea is our tribute to creatives, idealists and visionaries who pioneer concepts and ideas against backlash and resistance. The people who are then lauded and celebrated but only up until the point where big business works out how to monetize the idea. The line in the song "everybody loves you when they don't understand what you're doing - then you're expendable" is our nod to those corporations who will mine the well of talent, but only until the alchemy from art to commerce is completed," says Ricardo Autobahn.
"Spray have begun touring and playing live in recent years for the first time - and our songwriting style has slightly shifted to accommodate that. Having previously written albums purely from a studio perspective, this time we wanted to write a live anthem, a huge feelgood song with wide chords and melodies. No gimmicks. Like Coldplay but without all the unpleasantness," says Jenny McLaren.
Spray's musical DNA trace back to 90s band The Cuban Boys, who recorded one of the best Peel Sessions ever and went head-to-head with Sir Cliff Richard in a Christmas Chart Battle. Their hit single 'Cognoscenti Vs Intelligentsia' (a.k.a. The Hamster Dance Song) sold a million copies, reached number 4 in the UK single charts, landed them on Top of the Pops and, according to John Peel, was “the most requested song I’ve had since God Save The Queen”. They topped the John Peel Festive 50 Charts twice.
Spray was the secret weapon behind the UK’s 2006 Eurovision hit 'Teenage Life', written and produced with Daz Sampson, with their treated vocals used on the track. Ricardo Autobahn and Sampson's dance version of 'Rhinestone Cowboy' (as Rikki and Daz) with the legendary Glen Campbell went Top-10. More recently Spray recorded music with anarchic BBC star Hacker T. Dog and Ricardo also plays keyboards with Welsh punk pop icons Helen Love.
This is their second Analogue Trash release, following 2019's 'Failure Is Inevitable'. They've used the intervening time wisely; writing, terrorising social media, and a number of live shows.
'Ambiguous Poems About Death' is out now, available digitally and on CD with blue cover artwork via Bandcamp and everywhere online at http://snd.click/poems.

NOCTURNAL GRAVES Streams Entire New Album Ahead of Release
Australian blackened death outfit NOCTURNAL GRAVES will be releasing their new full-length, 'An Outlaws Stand,' tomorrow, January 7, via Season of Mist Underground Activists! The band is now streaming the new record in its entirety ahead of its release! Listen at THIS LOCATION.
'An Outlaw's Stand' is now available for pre-orders HERE.
NOCTURNAL GRAVES sound the charge with their venomous new offering, ‘An Outlaw's Stand.’ Coalescing the nastiest and rawest elements of death, thrash, and black metal, the Australian outlaws’ brand of apocalyptic metal explodes like an atom bomb, leaving utter devastation in its path. The relentless onslaught of pure brutality makes one thing clear – Long live death!
NOCTURNAL GRAVES were originally formed in Victoria, Australia in 2004. Two well received demos, ‘Profanation of Innocence’ and ‘Deathstorm,’ followed in the same year. Quickly securing a deal, the band officially released the ‘Necromancer’ 7″ vinyl in 2006 before unleashing their cult debut full-length, ‘Satan’s Cross,’ the following year. The iconic album was later re-issued with the stunning cover art by renowned painter Paolo Girardi (INQUISITION, MANILLA ROAD, HIEROPHANT) in 2017.
When the Australians first hit Europe in 2009, they celebrated the event with ‘The Gravespirit Sessions’ split. Former DESTRÖYER 666 and RAZOR OF OCCAM guitarist Shrapnel, as well as drummer L.W., joined in 2012.
NOCTURNAL GRAVES widely extended their international fanbase with the release of sophomore album ‘…From the Bloodline of Cain’ (2014), which resulted in an invitation to the 2016 edition of Maryland Deathfest and more shows in the United States. The band supported the tour with a limited 7″ EP ‘Sharpen the Knives / Lead us to the Endless Fire.’
Upon a line-up change in 2018 in which L.W. departed from the band and J. took his place back behind the drums, the band saw their third album, “Titan,” released through Season of Mist. An Australian/New Zealand tour with WATAIN followed in support of the album’s release.
In 2019, NOCTURNAL GRAVES joined forces alongside DESTRÖYER 666, DEAD CONGREGATION, and INCONCESSUS LUX LUCIS and embarked upon the Sons of Rebellion tour throughout Europe.
At the onset of the world plunging headfirst into the pandemic, the band locked themselves away to write and record their fourth assault, ‘An Outlaw’s Stand.’ Upon reflection, this new offering encompasses the entire history of NOCTURNAL GRAVES, compiling eight tracks of sheer ferocity and raw, untamed black and death metal.

The band is supporting their 2020 sophomore full-length, 'Where Death Lies,' which can be ordered, streamed, and downloaded HERE.
Embrace the new death metal overlords and their second full length 'Where Death Lies'! CARNATION equals blistering and crushing death metal madness and, with this new chapter, return with relentless destruction and greater punishment than ever before.
Early 2013, guitar player Jonathan Verstrepen created the band to show his appreciation for the old school death metal legends from the ‘80s & early ‘90s. Vocalist Simon Duson, bass player Yarne Heylen, guitar player Bert Vervoort, and drummer Vincent Verstrepen were summoned to complete the band, and it didn’t take long until the chemistry between this quintet hit critical mass.
The Belgian’s first EP offering, entitled 'Cemetery of the Insane', was released upon the masses in 2015 . Tracks such as "Explosive Cadavers" or "The Rituals of Flesh" take you back in time to the better days of shredding riffs, neck-breaking drums, and skull-crushing guttural vocals.
The live rituals that followed were executed with stone cold merciless aggression. CARNATION delivered their bloodbath at select festivals across Europe during 2015 and 2016. Their next journey led them to distant Asia for their first tour across mainland Japan. This resulted in the infamous 'Live at Asakusa Deathfest' album, which saw the light in (2017).
These releases, combined with their reputation as a notoriously impressive live act, drew the attention of fans worldwide and provided CARNATION with the opportunity to perform at several European festivals and saw the band touring alongside PESTILENCE during their special Brazilian tour in April 2018. After signing with Season of Mist in 2018, CARNATION welcomed new and loyal audiences to death’s domain and invited them to witness them rise to their throne!
CARNATION rage on in 2019 with more spectacular live shows at 70.000 Tons of Metal, Alcatraz (BE) and Damnation Festival (UK), as part of their touring rampage throughout Japan and Europe (with PUNGENT STENCH and DESERTED FEAR), before entering the studio for the recordings of a brand new album. The mastering for the new offering was done by the mighty Jens Bogren (SEPULTURA, ENSLAVED, ARCH ENEMY) at the Fascination Street Studios in Örebro (SE).
With ‘Where Death Lies’ a new chapter of abhorrence now begins and opens up a hellish path to resurrection, reincarnation, and immortality. You wanted death? CARNATION is here with a superior appearance performing new rituals in service of ancient deities. All hail the new death metal overlords!

American death metal masters Abysmal Dawn are back! After a six-year gap, the Los Angeles-based outfit and Season of Mist hereby present Phylogenesis. Not that Abysmal Dawn have laid low since the release of 2014’s lauded Obsolescence full-length. Far from it. They toured North America four times and hit Europe and South America for the first time. Meanwhile, founding member Charles Elliott opened his studio, Tastemaker Audio, to accelerate Abysmal Dawn's own recording needs, as well to act as a bridge to other bands in need of a knowledgeable and relatable audio technician. But the road to Phylogenesis wasn’t an easy one. Besides work-horsing it throughout the U.S., Canada, Sweden, Germany, the UK, Brazil, Chile, and beyond in support of Obsolescence, Elliott and crew managed through some of the lowest points in Abysmal Dawn’s career. Internal strife, administrative burdens, musical differences, and motivation all had their various ways with the Californians. Yet, from the darkest depths, they prevailed, heralding a new chapter in the group’s storied history. Indeed, Phylogenesis is Abysmal Dawn’s rebirth!
“There was a brief period after doing two months of touring back-to-back in the U.S. and Europe in 2015 that I almost felt like calling it quits,” Abysmal Dawn’s Charles Elliott says. "It was our first time in Europe and I just had a hard time enjoying it. The band had grown, and I was a bit tired of having to handle most of the managerial aspects of what we do. The joy had been ripped from things and people weren't getting along, and some people acted like they didn't want to be there. But we went our separate ways with some of the members and all of a sudden, the band was fun again. They went on to other things and we're probably all happier in the end. Sometimes, I feel it's a miracle this album or band even still exists. I've avoided swearing on our records in the past, but the album's opening line is actually, 'Fuck you all!' Maybe it's primitive by our past lyrical standards but it's genuine and it's the most heartfelt, ‘Fuck you, we’re still here’ I could put on a record. I’m glad we stuck it out because I think this is our proudest moment so far.”
To say Phylogenesis is an extension or continuation of Obsolescence isn’t exactly as straightforward as it should be. On one hand, all the Abysmal Dawn trademarks—technicality, brutality, and melody—remain ingrained in the songwriting fabric. On the other, the band’s fifth full-length is more cohesive, rhythmically sophisticated, and far more adventurous. Elliott calls it “a major evolution.” Certainly, the six years of constant refinement, edge smoothing, and transition adjustments have paid off. What started as jam sessions between Elliott, bassist Eliseo Garcia, and drummer James Coppolino in 2016 eventually turned into one-offs. That there was no time limit to put Phylogenesis together ended up both a blessing and a curse. Total creative freedom at very little expense is a dream scenario, something a band of Abysmal Dawn’s stature took advantage of for their magnum opus. But without a ticking clock and dollars burning, the pressure to focus was far less severe, resulting in delays and feature creep.
“It was basically James, Eliseo and me meeting up at my place, jamming on ideas, seeing what worked and tweaking them from there,” says Elliott. “With the exception of ‘Hedonistic,’ James wrote all his drum parts. Obsolescence was demoed with me programming all the drums since our drummer at the time had moved up north. It was what it was, but it was pretty frustrating at the time. Having someone to bounce ideas off of in real-time, helped in maintaining the joy and momentum of making this album. Once it was time to record bass and leads, Eliseo and Vito [Petroni; guitars] would trickle in when they had ideas. We had no real deadline and seemingly infinite time to do things. Admittedly, I think it was hard for me to focus on the lyrics, not only because of things in my personal life but because I was focused on getting the guys in to complete their parts so I could focus.”
Finish Phylogenesis they did, in fact. Under significant duress, Abysmal Dawn had overcome their roadblocks. The results of the group’s undulating professional and personal schedules aren’t to be trifled with, however. Opening track “Mundane Existence” is a firestorm of labyrinthine yet savage riffs, enraged vocals, and machine-gun drumming. It’s death metal personified, enlightened, and perfected. Elsewhere, tracks such as “The Path of the Totalitarian,” “A Speck in the Fabric of Eternity,” and “Soul-Sick Nation” (feat. Fredrik Folkare of Unleashed, Firespawn, et al.) pose real threats to the status quo. In all three, Elliott’s passion for and dominance of death metal’s tenets are tangible. But there’s more to Abysmal Dawn on Phylogenesis than customary ritual. From the ruthless groove of “Hedonistic” and the staccato stabs of “Coerced Evolution” to the late album gem “The Lament Configuration” and the blistering cover of Death classic “Flattening of Emotion,” the songs are designed to slay in ways we’re just beginning to understand.
“We’re a pretty brutal death metal band, but what I feel like sets us apart is that no matter what we do there’s always some underlying sense of melody and hooks,” Elliott says. “There are lots of bands that are ridiculously brutal. There are lots of bands that are over-the-top technically or are blatantly melodic. We combine all that but we try to write something that sticks with you over time; that you'll keep coming back to, and that works well in the live environment. We love all types of music, whether it's fusion or industrial music, and it shines through here and there. But in the end, though, we're a pure death metal band at heart trying to retain that old-school feel with an updated take for a new generation.”
Conceptually, Phylogenesis deals with the breakdown of social constructs humans have built over time. The album title is defined by the evolution of (or diversification) a species. So, Phylogenesis is an ironic take on Elliott’s observations, particularly how social media has accelerated and exacerbated the de-evolution of humanity’s interactive abilities. The cover art, again by Swedish artist Pär Olofsson, isn’t directly correlated to the lyrical narrative, but it does continue where Obsolescence left off. The Olofsson cover art has envisioned what it’s like on the inside of the Obsolescence tower, and that it’s humans that are being fed back to humans. The cover art continuity is akin to Richard Fleischer’s famed Soylent Green film but ripped through Elliott’s demented death metal lens.
“I think the lyrics deal a lot with things we encounter in our modern society and the effect it has on the individual,” says Elliott. “The dehumanization effect and divisiveness caused by bickering on social media (‘The Path of the Totalitarian’), the decay of legitimate journalism (‘True to the Blind’), struggling to find purpose in the pursuit of happiness (‘Hedonistic’), wishing something was greater than yourself (‘Mundane Existence’), the mental illness epidemic (‘Soul-Sick Nation’), embracing pain over numbness to feel alive (‘The Lament Configuration’), having our consciousnesses uploaded to a grid in order to make life sustainable on Earth (‘Coerced Evolution’), and the common theme throughout the band of wishing life on Earth would just start over (‘A Speck in the Fabric of Eternity’). I had started off wanting it to be a concept record but later scrapped that idea because I didn't like how it was going. In the end though, it just naturally all tied together in some way. Even the Death cover seemed to fit lyrically in hindsight. ‘Coerced Evolution’ is really the only song that in the sci-fi vein this time around. As for Pär, yes, he did the cover art once again. We love working with him and we’ve been creating great covers with him since 2006.”
Abysmal Dawn recorded Phylogenesis over a multi-year timeframe. In fact, Coppolino’s drums were tracked as far back as 2017 with long-time collaborator John Haddad at Trench Studios. The rhythm guitars and vocals, as produced by Mike Bear and Elliott, were also done at Tastemaker Audio the same year. So, some of Phylogenesis goes back, but the parts are no less lethal. Slowly but surely, the group’s newest and greatest materialized, with Elliott finishing the lead guitars, bass, additional vocals, re-amping, and mixing sessions in 2019, again at Tastemaker Audio. Abysmal Dawn then packaged up their fifth for mastering ace Tony Lindgren (Rotting Christ) to handle at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. Contemporary yet absolutely remorseless, Abysmal Dawn’s Phylogenesis is death metal for a new age.
“We took our time and went to few studios this time around, so it’s a bit of a laundry list,” Elliott says. “John Haddad engineered the drums at Trench Studios. John has been involved with all our records in some form since From Ashes. Mike Bear helped track and produce the vast majority of my vocals and rhythm guitars out of my studio. Mike produced both Leveling the Plane of Existence (2010) and Obsolescence. I tracked and produced all the leads, bass parts, and other odds and ends and mixed the album as well. Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios mastered the record in the end.”

NEW HORIZON ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM "GATE OF THE GODS" DUE MARCH 11, 2022
NEW POWER METAL BAND FROM ERIK GRÖNWALL & JONA TEE
SINGLE & VIDEO 'STRONGER THAN STEEL' OUT NOW
Vocalist Erik Grönwall and songwriter/producer/multi-multi-instrumentalist Jona Tee, former bandmates in H.E.A.T., are continuing their musical partnership by unleashing New Horizon, their new power metal brainchild! The duo's debut album, "Gate Of The Gods" will be released on March 11, 2022 via Frontiers Music Srl on CD/LP/Digital. Today, the band has premiered their first music video, 'Stronger Than Steel'. Watch it below.
Pre-order "Gate Of The Gods" on CD/LP/Digital HERE: https://orcd.co/newhorizon
After a few months of secretive work in the studio, the reunion of Grönwall and Tee brings us a true metal record which will leave an unexpected imprint on the power metal scene. The epic and powerful music keeps a solid heavy metal foundation while delivering truly infectious melodies. Fans of Grönwall will delight in hearing his vocals in arguably the finest form of his career, wailing like a metal warrior delivering these anthems from the highest mountain top. And Tee, as usual, delivers an incredible production befitting of these power metal hymns.
Robban Bäck (Mustasch), Sam Totman (DragonForce), Love Magnusson (Dynazty), Dave Dalone (H.E.A.T), Niko Vuorela (Temple Balls), and Laucha Figueroa are all guest musicians/contributors to "Gate Of The Gods".
The seeds of NEW HORIZON were planted in Jona’s youth given that he grew up listening to (and still loves) Iron Maiden, Helloween, Hammerfall, Manowar, Edguy, and the like. Heavy metal is in his blood and New Horizon is something that is flowing through his veins and extremely close to his heart. He always dreamed of releasing his own power metal anthems one day. When asked about the sound of New Horizon, Jona Tee describes it as "a mix between classic power and heavy metal, with a touch of 2021.”
The initial idea for New Horizon, at first, was to have several lead vocalists perform on the album; however, that changed when Erik Gronwall came to the studio to record two songs for the album. Despite Erik having recently departed H.E.A.T, both guys felt the need to continue working together. The songs Jona had written for the debut New Horizon album were 'a match made in hell' for Erik’s voice. Since he is an insanely versatile singer who could give the project a more band-like feel, Jona knew he was the man for the job. Sharing Jona's passions for the genre, Erik gladly joined NEW HORIZON and delivered the vocal beast that lay inside him to bring Jona's power metal vision to life. With the recording of those two initial songs, they started brainstorming and visualizing a future together under the banner of New Horizon...and they liked what they heard and saw.
“It felt so natural to continue working together. We have toured together pretty much all over the world and released music together for a decade. Jona is truly like my brother, by blood, and New Horizon will be the catalyst for us to release great metal together and just have fun,” says Grönwall.
If you like power metal, then this is simply going to be one of the contenders for your album of the year!
LINE-UP:
Erik “Power” Grönwall - Lead Vocals
Jona Tee – Bass, Guitars, Keyboards, Backing Vocals

Progressive Death Metal heavy-hitters ARKAIK have partnered with Metal Insider to premiere the music video for their new single, "Wayward Opulence". The new track is the first offering from the band's upcoming studio album, 'Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts', which will see a March 11th, 2022 release via The Artisan Era. Watch the video for "Wayward Opulence" below.
Speaking about their new single and music video, the band comments:
"We’re excited to bring you our first single offering, 'Wayward Opulence'. As part of the album’s concept, this song addresses the self-destructive nature of overindulging in vanity and ego. Serving as a reminder that our greatest enemy might not be external, but internal.”
About ARKAIK:
Arkaik is a progressive death metal band hailing from Northern California. Formed in 2004 by Jared Christianson and Chance Strickland, Arkaik was born within the blossoming Bay Area Tech-Death scene that would soon influence many of today’s popular bands. Through elaborate story-telling and their unique musical style, Arkaik imparts bits of esoteric wisdom through an ongoing lyrical narrative that continues to bring each listener on an epic hero’s journey.
Arkaik has been joined by many all-star members who have each left their mark in the band and contributed greatly - some of which still do behind the scenes. In 2017 Nathan Bigelow (Singularity AZ, Ex-Alterbeast) joined as the band’s full-time drummer. Alex Haddad (Dessiderium, Nullingroots) joined the band in 2018 during The Devastation On The Nation Tour, taking on guitar duties. Jared, Alex, and Nathan now comprise the core unit of Arkaik that will mark a new and exciting chapter for the band - creating a more focused and recognizable sound than ever before.
Having toured the bulk of The United States and Canada with popular acts such as Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Psycroptic, Fallujah, Exhumed, and many more, Arkaik has made a name for themselves both on and off stage.
In 2019, after several years with Unique Leader, Arkaik joined forces with The Artisan Era to produce a single entitled “Supernal Flame”. Under this new record label, the band will unleash their fifth full-length album, 'Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts' on March 11th, 2022.

German chart toppers KISSIN’ DYNAMITE are thrilled to release their newest single “Coming Home”. This banger truly proves their origins in stadium rock without being pigeonholed! It’s accompanied by a jaw-dropping video in which the five-piece once again demonstrates their relentless energy.
“Coming Home” is the last taste of the band’s upcoming studio album, Not The End Of The Road, to be unleashed before it’s released on January 21 via Napalm Records. It will build upon the success story of their previous album (#7 on the GER album charts) with their very own bursting high-voltage sound – watch out!
KISSIN' DYNAMITE on the new song:
“Coming Home” doesn't mean to return to a specific location. It is more the probably coziest emotion of feeling alive, being yourself & having love in your heart, no matter where you are. It's a priceless gift. “Tell everyone I'm coming home!”
Watch the Official Video for “Coming Home”
Founded in 2007, German heavy metal formation KISSIN’ DYNAMITE have made more than just a name for themselves in the scene: With six studio albums and various chart entries (#7 on the GER album charts with their full-length Ecstasy in 2018), the band established their trademark style - characterized by modern sound, massive anthems and catchy hooks paired with an 80s stadium rock attitude and eccentric look. Now, the five piece is ready to release their Napalm Records debut, Not The End Of The Road, and usher in heavy metal in 2022!
The new studio album was produced, recorded and mixed by vocalist Hannes Braun (Südland Music) himself, who has also worked with bands like Santiano, The Kelly Familyand Beyond The Black. Mastering was completed by Grammy Award winning producer Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, known for his work with bands like Volbeat and many more.
Ande Braun on the new album:
"Not The End Of The Road is an album that accurately describes our experiences as a band since Ecstasy in 2018. First and foremost, we highlight with songs like “Not The End Of The Road”, “What Goes Up”, “Yoko Ono” and “Only The Dead”: We're up for it, we're pulling together and we want to reach the rock Olympus! Titles like “Coming Home”, “Gone For Good” and “Scars”, on the other hand, deal with real feelings like loneliness, homesickness and sadness, which are also part of life."
Hannes Braun adds:
"With Ecstasy, we already didn't make any compromises and just wanted to compose music that speaks from us. Not The End Of The Road seamlessly picks up exactly here."
Pre-order Your Copy of Not The End Of The Road NOW!
With Not The End Of The Road, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE set another milestone in their successful discography: In guitar-driven power metal fashion, the tune of the intro and title track “Not The End Of The Road” prepares the listener for a thrilling road trip and new anthems straight from the heart of the KISSIN’ DYNAMITE universe. Crusher “What Goes Up” takes its listener into the truly spectacular soundscapes that make stadiums shake and convinces with Aerosmith-like guitar attacks and an anthemic hook. But KISSIN’ DYNAMITEare also not afraid to show their mellower side, as heard on delightfully tranquil tracks like “Good Life” and “Gone For Good” - not only showcasing the almost calm touches pervading the melodies, but also presenting the softer side of Braun’s vocal repertoire. While tracks like “No One Dies A Virgin” and “Yoko Ono” symbolize catchy party hymns, standouts “Coming Home” and “Defeat It” underline their origins of stadium rock without being pigeonholed. “Voodoo Spell” manifests the variety of the band and their different influences - starting with strong dark rock elements, the song becomes an opus that easily competes with the biggest stadium giants. The album’s closer, “Scars”, proves once again that KISSIN’ DYNAMITE can reach the depths and showcase lyrical vulnerability - an impressive ending that screams to be played live.
Not The End Of The Road will be available in the following formats:
