DEATH ANGEL'S NEW RECORD "THE BASTARD TRACKS" IS OUT TODAY!

Bay Area thrash legends DEATH ANGEL have released their heavily anticipated new live record titled "The Bastard Tracks" today with Nuclear Blast. Recorded live at The Great American Music Hall in their hometown of San Francisco on May 22nd, 2021, and streamed live soon after, "The Bastard Tracks" is a deep cuts collection of rarely and never performed songs from the band's celebrated catalog that's available now digitally and on CD and Blu-Ray and will be released on vinyl on April 29th.

In conjunction with the release the band has rolled out the live video for "The Absence of Light," which can be viewed below.

Commenting on the song, vocalist Mark Osegueda states:

“'Absence of Light' is a song that I have been championing for since the album that it is on called 'Relentless Retribution' was released in 2010. It’s an extremely dark song lyrically that sits on top of this thunderous and driving riff and beat. It is not a fast song by any means. But! It’s HEAVY!! DARK and HEAVY!!!

We finally took the time to re-familiarize ourselves with it and we were all surprised how HEAVY it sounded when we all played it together in the room! I’m pretty confident it will rear its DARK and HEAVY head in some future live sets. In front of an actual audience!”

Purchase "The Bastard Tracks" here: https://bfan.link/DeathAngelTBT

Commenting on the record, Osegueda says:

"When we performed and filmed the songs for 'The Bastard Tracks' it was such a crazy time and having missed being able to perform live for so long was taking it’s toll on me to a certain degree as I have been a live performer for the majority of my life..

I must say...It was a pretty dark time. I know it was for so many of us...But! Music once again helped to pull us through it...It was a bit odd performing to no crowd...But! It felt great re-learning some deep tracks and getting on stage with the guys and unleashing this pent up aggression! And the response from everyone who tuned into it suggesting that we release it as an album was overwhelming! Well…Thanks to them here it is! I hope you enjoy it!”

Adding to that, guitarist Rob Cavestany says:

"Choosing and sequencing the songs for 'The Bastard Tracks' set list was quite a different trip. All of them had rarely (and in some instances never) been played live. We hadn’t performed in front of a live audience for over a year, the longest ever for this band. It was to be filmed live at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and then broadcast worldwide on the good ol’ inter-web! I could get into that…

From basically re-learning most of these songs to getting them as tight as they should be, we put our energy together and made it happen! I’m thankful for having had this goal to focus on during those (still) crazy earth crisis days. It gave us an important reason to get together at DA Studio and JAM! Literally the only time I’ve felt “normal” since 2020 was while we were jamming! Fortunately we’ve been able to do it a lot. Now, we proudly present the audio and visual recordings of those sessions. Turn it up!

P.S. - We cannot wait to exchange live energy with you as soon as possible!!"

DEATH ANGEL will perform a hometown show this weekend and will join TESTAMENT and EXODUS on "The Bay Area Strikes Back Tour" in Spring 2022. Tickets are on sale now at https://www.deathangel.us/tour.

Swedish Rockers DICTATOR SHIP Release New Single "Sorry State"

Sweden's Dictator Ship are back with their explosive new single "Sorry State". A dynamic and raw rock 'n' rock track with rhythmical variations, vocal harmonies, and melodies that stick. The new track is tied together by the same retro-inspired, live-recorded sound that could be heard on the band's 2020 debut album'Your Favorites'. The band comments on their new single:

'Sorry State' is a song about the blues, infidelity, and abuse. About losing what you believe is the only thing in your life that makes you as a person worth a damn."

”Sorry State” is out now on all streaming platforms via The Sign Records.

About DICTATOR SHIP:

Dictator Ship is a direct and immediate outburst in raw and primitive Rock’N’Roll, accompanied by the supreme vocal set up from the soul bands of the ‘60s. The sound has a short and direct approach that seems almost impossible to contain, like a wild animal in a cage – as if The Saints met up with The Four Tops. It is a constant fistfight between the greatness of the ‘70s and the ’60s. Dictator Ship is the prime and natural energy source that the world has been searching for. Hook up the power net and let the world enjoy! So begins the story of the band now known as Dictator Ship...

The foundation of the band is the harmonies in the vocals and the feedback from the amps, backed by the most intense drumming – almost impossible to comprehend – and the aggressive hammering on the bass. Dictator Ship released their debut album ”Your Favorites” in April 2020 on The Sign Records. The album was praised by both fans and the media. UK’s Classic Rock Magazine described it as ”An astounding live-in-studio debut from a raw twin-guitar-fronted quartet of Swedes, all of whom double on vocals, channeling the MC5’s explosive, action-rock remodel of 60s soul”.

Line-up:

Petter Heinemann - Vocals and Guitar

John Sijbren Leonard - Vocals and Guitar

Viktor Henriksson - Vocals and Drums

David Ericsson - Vocals and Bass

MANDOKI SOULMATES CELEBRATE MUSIC + MEMBERS RECEIVE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS THIS THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving 2021 was certainly a time of celebration for Mandoki Soulmates. Case in point, two of the band members received Grammy nominations - Cory Henry for Album Of The Year and Best Progressive R&B Album and Randy Brecker for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.

In addition to the band recently releasing a video for the song “The Torch” (off their critically acclaimed album, ‘Utopia For Realists: Hungarian Pictures,’ which can be viewed/heard here: https://mandokisoulmates.lnk.to/TheTorch-2021Version), Mandoki Soulmates leader Leslie Mandoki celebrated Thanksgiving this year in New York.

Leslie: “For the traditional Soulmates-Thanksgiving, this time my dear Soulmate, Al di Meola, one of the founding members of the MANDOKI SOULMATES about 30 years ago, invited us to his home in New York, and as always, we played each other’s latest music together. Beside one of the best turkey dinners, we’re celebrating the love of life, music, and three decades of friendship, mutual music and values with Soulmates. Thanksgiving is the right occasion to give thanks for the privileged life of a musician that we can live thanks to the audience that inspires our creativity. It was truly another Soulmates ‘family reunion’ again.”

“We first celebrated with our soulmates at Al's house about 30 years ago, and had another wonderful Soulmates gathering here 15 years ago with my three children. Bringing wonderful changes, Stephanie then gave the house a whole new soul, and it was so beautifully decorated for Thanksgiving. The love, music, and more than 30 years of friendship were in the air and could literally be felt!”

“Yesterday was also time to congratulate our soulmates Cory and Randy on their very well-deserved recent Grammy nominations. When we celebrate family gatherings together with our children today or even at the end of the year, we should realize that they are the future. I am a father of three children, and we should ask ourselves in what condition we hand over our world to the children, the Young Rebels? We can only overcome the divisions in our society together with the Old Rebels and the Young Rebels. So let's wish them strength, courage and the hunger to strive for the right solutions, and let's help them while there's still time to turn the wind and pass the torch.”

DESSIDERIUM Release Title Track For New Album 'Aria' - Out December 10th on The Artisan Era!

DESSIDERIUM Release Title Track For New Album

'Aria' Coming December 10th via The Artisan Era

Pre-Order HERE

Melodic Death-Prog trailblazer DESSIDERIUM has released the second single from their upcoming studio album! Clocking in at over 14 minutes, the constantly shape-shifting new song is the title track of their The Artisan Era debut, 'Aria'! Fans can check out "Aria" via the visualizer found below.

The brainchild of Southern California native Alex Haddad, Dessiderium started out as a passion project for the multi-faceted artist, with the band's first two albums ('Life Was A Blur' & 'Rain Gates') being recorded and produced in his bedroom. However, the band's third LP, 'Shadow Burn', would establish it as a legitimate force within the underground metal scene - highlighting elements of melodic arrangements, hyper-aggressive death instrumentals, and emotionally vulnerable lyrical themes.

Aria will see a December 10th, 2021 release via The Artisan Era.

Pre-Order 'Aria' HERE

Musically, 'Aria' marks a return to the long-form style of songwriting from Dessiderium. Songs weave in and out of acrobatic riffing, calming transitions, and dense walls of sound, all while forming a cohesive narrative. The story is told episodically, following the song-to-song evolution of a nameless protagonist who forms an ever-growing obsession with a reoccurring lucid dream figure named Aria. It is through this concept that the album explores broader themes of love, lust, infatuation, isolation, nostalgia, and death. Ultimately, through its music and words, Aria pays recognition to both the esoteric beauty and inevitable damage of living life through escapism.

About DESSIDERIUM:

Dessiderium is the musical diary of Alex Haddad, founded in Southern California, and remaining active in the Sonoran Desert. The first two albums, Life Was A Blur and Rain Gates, were quietly released bedroom recordings that demonstrated early promise in the progressive metal project’s distinctive take on metal. On its third release, Shadow Burn, Dessiderium established itself as an authentic presence in the underground metal scene, offering its blend of hyper-melodic, complex music, paired with a haunting sense of vulnerability through lyrical themes. With an ever-expanding body of work and plans for a live-performing lineup, the year 2021 marks the true beginning for Dessiderium.

RUST N' RAGE RELEASES NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VIDEO 'HEARTBREAKER'

RUST N' RAGE RELEASES NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VIDEO 'HEARTBREAKER'

OUT NOW ON ALL DIGITAL PLATFORMS

NEW STUDIO ALBUM TO BE RELEASED IN EARLY 2022

As previously announced, Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to welcome Finland's Rust n' Rage to the label's ever-growing stable of exciting new young talent. The band has recently wrapped up recording their label debut with producer Jimmy Westerlund (One Desire). Ahead of an announcement about the aforementioned album, the band has released a single and video for the track 'Heartbreaker'. Watch the video below.

Through lots of hard work and gigging, Rust n' Rage have been starting to make a name for themselves in their home country of Finland. With energetic live shows and anthemic songwriting, this rock n’ roll-quartet is ready to introduce themselves to the world more than ever before. Be sure to stay tuned for their Jimmy Westerlund produced debut album, which will be chock full of anthemic, hard rocking, melodic tunes.

Coming from a small town in Finland called Pori, Rust n’ Rage is made up of four guys who all live for a similar cause: Rock n’ Roll. While individually practicing a lifestyle of hard rockin’ and playing their hearts out around their small town, it didn’t take long for Vince, Johnny, Jezzie, and Eddy to meet and realize they had a shared musical vision. Their musical influences originate from the '80s, with their idols being such legends as Guns n’ Roses, Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Dokken, and the like. Rather than merely be the sum of their influences though, Rust n' Rage concentrates their songwriting on being separate from their influences, while still maintaining those awesome hard rock riffs and high-pitched vocal screams.

In 2020, things started rolling for the band, having found a new manager and a new producer to help them get their musical vision properly recorded. Based on the strength of their newly created/recorded singles, the band caught the interest of Frontiers Music Srl, who have signed them to a worldwide deal. Signing with Frontiers is an opportunity to release their music to a global audience and to show the world what they are made of. Stay tuned for more exciting things to come from these Finnish rockers in 2022.

THEODOR BASTARD Announce Re-issue of 'Vetvi'

Karelian Neofolk outfit THEODOR BASTARD will be reissuing their 2015 masterpiece 'Vetvi' via Season of Mist on January 21, 2022 in various formats!

THEODOR BASTARD comment on the re-issue: "The 'Vetvi' album is a landmark for our group. It reflects our turn to the North to our native traditions, to our native lands. We drew attention to the still living culture of our northern region - first of all Karelia, a unique region in the North of Russia. And it was from this album we started our conversation with Season of Mist. We are very pleased that the label noticed this album and were able to appreciate it. And now 'Vetvi will' be available to an international audience. We really hope that our listeners will enjoy the sound of this album, as well as they will be able to enjoy the unique sound of double vinyl."

Earlier this year, THEODOR BASTARD were selected as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest 2021 (Session I) for the song "Volchuk," which is taken from 'Volch'ya Yagoda,' which was originally released in 2019 and is currently being reissued by Season of Mist.

Moreover, THEODOR BASTARD recently released a breathtaking acoustic performance for the song "Budem Zhit," in which Yana Veva and Ekaterina Dolmatova sing along with the the accompaniment of the gusli. The video can be seen at THIS LOCATION.

The multilayered and unpredictable 2015 album 'Vetvi' from THEODOR BASTARD, inherits the band's recognizable multi-genre approach where psychedelic trip hop, combined with cinematic instrumentals and archaic world music, meets modern technological electronics. THEODOR BASTARD combine Russian texts with glossolalia and shamanic spells as easily as they change instruments on stage.

THEODOR BASTARD is one of Russia's most unusual bands representing the electronic Karelian neofolk genre. Also elements of dark wave and trip hop are present in the band's music. The message doesn't carry out everyday problems and is mainly focused on mythology and shamanism. The hallmarks of the band are the unique and bewitching lead vocals of multi-talent Yana Veva and the impeccable sound producing skills of Fedor Svolotch, founder of the band who created the band 20 years ago.

From album to album, THEODOR BASTARD carefully and masterly combine many different exotic and traditional instruments. The special northern atmosphere of their albums is created with Nordic nyckelharpa and jouhikko, primeval flutes created from tree roots and shamanic percussion.

"We live in the north of Russia in Karelia, which has a difficult fate" states band leader Fedor Svolotch. He continues: "This is a harsh northern region with unpredictable nature, with spruce and pine forests. Bears are found here. Moose and hare come straight to my house. In Karelia there are beautiful cliffs and clear lakes with fresh water. These are our personal places of power, the places where stones and winds are talking to us. Singing for us a songs of the northern harsh nature".

THEODOR BASTARD's music is set out to take listeners to unexplored and other worlds. From the cold and twilight realms of the marshy swamps of taiga and mossy tundra, to unexplored places where the earthly plane and the spiritual world are separated only by a thin ghostly veil. THEODOR BASTARD consists of 6 musicians, turning their performances into a dark magic act that sends the audience back to Northern musical traditions, to the Karelian and the Russian folk. The musicians use a variety of electronic devices and ethnic instruments, but also their own hand-made instruments from stones, human bone and the roots of Karelian birch.

For over twenty years THEODOR BASTARD have been known for their amazing serious attitude to the world beyond that very frontier. The band's 2015 re-issue of 'Vetvi' is set out to take listeners to unexplored and other worlds!

ABOUT BLACK TUSK:

There was blood, maybe a few tears too, but more than anything, it was sweat that marks this brand new release of BLACK TUSK, 'TCBT.'

Their previous full-length, 'Pillars of Ash,' sadly had to appear posthumously for one member as the band had tragically lost their charismatic bass-player, Jonathan Athon, through a motorcycle accident. With a heavy heart, BLACK TUSK decided to honor Athon's memory by carrying on and recruiting veteran musician and already long-time friend Corey Barhorst (EX-KYLESA) to take over his duties on the low end.

Now with the sixth studio album, 'TCBT,' BLACK TUSK show the world they lived through the kind of hardship and heartbreak that would cripple a lesser band. It’s their dedication, gumption, and pure bullheaded stubbornness that took care of business, keeps taking care of business, and Taking Care of Black Tusk.

Der Weg einer Freiheit Releases "Skepsis Part I" Live Video

German black metal experimentalists Der Weg einer Freiheit are now premiering a live video for the song "Skepsis Part I," taken from the bonus DVD of the band's latest release 'Noktvrn.' The song was recorded as a part of the European Metal Festival Alliance 2020. The full DVD is available in the collector's item digibox.

Watch the live video at the Season of Mist YouTube Channel.

Der Weg Einer Freiheit is supporting the release of their brand new album, 'Noktvrn,' which is out now! Order it HERE.

Progressive, avant-garde black metal experimentalists DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT have never stopped smashing through the boundaries of the genre they’ve called home since forming in early 2009. And with 2021 welcoming the release of fifth album, Noktvrn, the Germans are looking to expand the minds and perspectives of their ever-increasing fanbase, similar to how they pushed themselves in every element of the new album’s creation. Ironically, supporters being able to pay witness to the leaps and bounds the band has made over the course of 12 years, five albums and one EP and live recordings should count themselves lucky for being able to do so.

DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT may have existed and thrived over the course of that time, but forging on beyond its self-titled debut wasn’t part of guitarist/vocalist/mastermind Nikita Kamprad’s original plan.

Formed out of the ashes of black metal quartet FROSTGRIM and good time-lovin’ melodic deathcore posse, FUCK YOUR SHADOW FROM BEHIND, Kamprad and original vocalist Tobias Jaschinsky founded DER WEG EINER FREIHEITas an expression of both their love of black metal and the search for liberation through art, as evidenced by taking the idea of their moniker — which translates to ‘The Way of Freedom’ — to heart.

“FROSTGRIM could be seen as the direct predecessor to DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT,” says Kamprad, from his studio in Würzburg, in the state of Bavaria, “because it was Tobias, our former singer, and I. We had this black metal band together when we also had FUCK YOUR SHADOW FROM BEHIND. We were a part of both bands and when they split up, there was nothing left. For me, black metal was always the most important musical genre where I could see myself doing music. So, I created songs for myself and basically they became the first DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT album. It is officially self-titled, but it actually doesn’t have a title. It’s just Der Weg einer Freiheit because initially after I wrote and released that first album, the band was supposed to be over. But the feedback from friends, fans and the press was so immense and so many people wanted to see the band live and to see it continue, in the end, I was like ‘why not?’ There was no reason why I couldn’t go on with new stuff.”

Originally self-released, the debut was picked up by Viva Hate Records who then issued follow-ups in the form of the Agonie EP and second full-length, Unstille which were supported via appearances at name festivals such as Summer Breeze Open Air and Wolfszeit Festival as well as on European tours opening for the likes of WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, NEAERA. 2014 had DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT joining forces with Season of Mist for third album, Stellar which was issued a few months later in March of 2015.

With the label and a groundswell of support behind them, the band’s star continued to rise in Stellar’s shadow with showings at Wacken Open Air, Hellfest and Roadburn, a tour in support of MOONSPELL and their first headlining runs. 2017 saw the release of album number four, Finisterre, which continued the steady growth of the band’s profile. In addition to drawing bigger crowds at festivals and on tours, they ventured overseas for the first time, playing in Japan and Iceland.

“I was doing music for six or seven years when I started DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT and I was always in bands that would meet up and write in a rehearsal space, but I always wanted to have my own band. I had the opportunity to do my own thing and that’s why this band is called DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT because it’s basically about my way of achieving my own freedom. For some people that way is through sport or cooking or writing; for me, it was about writing music and lyrics.”

Twelve years on, Kamprad is taking advantage of the freedoms afforded to him as he strives to personify the band’s titular expression. Being joined by drummer Tobias Schuler, bassist Nicolas Ziska and guitarist Nicolas Rausch has made DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT more a unit than ever and allowed Kamprad to feel comfortable relinquishing his steely grip on the band’s creative reins during the writing process which began in late 2019 and was completed by September of 2020. This has allowed for vast differences in Noktvrn’s creation that have expanded the album’s overall breadth beyond black metal and extreme music to incorporate the influence and inspiration of classical composer Frédéric Chopin’s Nocturnes, his series of 21 so-called “night pieces.” This, in turn, birthed the album’s artistic mandate requiring that material only be created during the wee hours.

“I always wanted to do an album about the night and dreams and I’m really, really big fan of Chopin and his night pieces in general. For me, it made sense that this album should have a title that connects with this theme. To the left of me right now is a piano and some of Chopin’s sheet music for the Nocturnes. One day I probably looked at it and wanted to pay tribute to this great composer. That’s why we chose to write the title a little bit differently with the ‘k’ instead of a ‘c’ and a ‘v’ instead of a ‘u’ to make it more special. We also chose the ‘v’ in particular because it’s our fifth album and that’s the Roman numeral for five. It’s just something special we did with the name, even though we weren’t sure at first about the lettering because it can be seen as generic, especially in black metal. We have reasons that are deeper than what you see on the surface; not because we want to be ‘true’ — or ‘trve’ — or something,” he explains with a laugh.

The Chopin and classical music influences on Noktvrn are much more than surface cosmetics. Lilting acoustic guitar piece ‘Finisterre II’ opens the album. Jericho-like horns are the bleating accent to the proggy black metal of ‘Monument.’ Baroque arpeggiation familiar to the tuxedo-and-coat tails crowd are spiralled around Oslo’s Helvete shop in ‘Morgen.’ There are also tendrils of folk, shoegaze and indie rock that make brief and appropriate appearances, but it’s the night-time theme that runs deep as Kamprad discovered early on in the writing process.

“‘Immortal’ was one of the first songs I wrote for the album and it was really, really weird because I wrote the song when it was very, very late when I fell into a night-time rhythm that was not my usual rhythm. Here, I felt I was having different kinds of dreams and thoughts. Sometimes I’d be half-awake, half-asleep and not really aware of what my real state of mind was. That was an experience that made me think about giving the entire album the nocturnal or night theme. I’m a very passionate sleeper; I love sleeping and dreaming and dreams are important to me because there’s a freedom in them. In this night rhythm, my head was in a different state and I wanted to create in this state because it was something different for me.”

Lyrically, Noktvrn has Kamprad taking enormous steps outside what has become his regular modus operandi since he took over the mic following Jaschinsky’s departure in 2012. The new album has him expanding his reach beyond not only his usual collection of personal thoughts and mother tongue, but also the style and texture with which he would previously deliver his meanings, ideas, and recollections.

“Usually, the lyrics have mainly been about myself, but on this album there were two events in the last two or three years connected to anxiety attacks. I haven’t experienced them myself, but a couple people who are very close to me have. The lyrics for the song ‘Am Rande der Dunkelheit’ are based around these people’s experiences and them telling me how they felt in a situation where they think they can’t breathe, that they think they’re dying and their life is coming to an end. I tried to imagine through the lyrics how they might have felt. I was trying to find my own words to describe the experience while trying to describe it if I had lived it myself.

“Another completely new thing on this album are the songs ‘Immortal’ and ‘Haven’ which are in English, which we’ve never done before. I always wanted to sing in English ever since I took over the vocals. Singing is the most direct musical expression I feel. Playing guitar is cool, but singing is even more my thing and I always want to push the boundaries so I implemented clean singing as well but, for me, doing clean vocals is very uncomfortable and difficult in German. I think singing clean vocals in English sounds nicer because German is a hard language which fits the harsh vocals perfectly. I wanted to try it out to see how it felt, and surprise, surprise, it felt great! I really like it and imagine there will be more English lyrics in the future.”

Barring a pair of live albums, all previous DER WEG EINER FREIHEITreleases were created almost entirely from the ground up by Kamprad. He would write the songs on his own and do the bass, guitar and vocal tracks himself with Schuler playing drums while engineering, producing and mixing along the way. Kamprad may still be the songwriter-in-chief who produced and mixed Noktvrn (with assistance from Jan Kerscher), but this album makes a significant developmental step as it not only welcomes song writing contributions from the other members, but has the band ably demonstrating their ability by recording live off the floor.

“The new album is the most natural sounding DER WEG EINER FREIHEITalbum,” he says excitedly, “not only the sound, but the riffing and because we recorded the songs live. Music today, especially metal, can be too difficult and technical for bands to even play and record their own songs from start to finish. For me it was very important during the song writing to focus on playing the songs all the way through without stopping. That created a very natural flow through the songs and throughout the whole album. Also, it was a new thing that the whole band was involved in the whole recording process and the last stages of the song writing. Writing and recording mainly by myself was a very exhausting and streamlined process that I liked at some points, but after Finisterre I couldn’t do that anymore and had to change something.

“I still wrote the songs here in my studio then showed them to the others,” he explains. “Then, we met up for rehearsal and pre-production and played through the songs, recorded them and really analysed all the small details, the iteration of parts, the transitions, the guitar sound, the drum beats and everything, even the cymbal hits! What came out were still my songs, but with all kinds of input from the guys. They’re the same songs, but going over all the details brings them to another level. When we entered the studio all we had to do was focus on playing and nothing else because everything was settled already. That was a new and very good experience for us as a band.”

All of the above makes Noktvrn a beacon of musical forward thought, drastic jumps and transformative risks. In his soft-spoken humble manner, Kamprad laughs at the idea that DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT is little more than a personal expression vehicle; instead, he refers to the band as “a very professional hobby,” while downplaying what makes these black metal mavericks entirely special.

“Maybe what is the special thing about us is that we never stopped. Since the beginning, we haven’t taken a break and we’ve always tried to be present with tours and shows and festivals, so there was never a break.”

New York rocker Dmitry Wild presents audacious single 'Don't Need Anybody'. Watch the video

"Upbeat, positive, and catchy. With memorable riffs and a notable feel-good vibe... Wild delivers his vocals with casually defiant flair, surrounded by rolling waves of shining guitar riffs, a slinky bass line groove, kicky drum hits, and crashing cymbals. The ambience is exciting, yet laid-back at the same time and captures true rock 'n' roll spirit" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A tastefully crafted raucous free-rolling rocker-zen cracker" ~ Skylight Webzine

"Wild flourishes here with a swaggering style, the buoyant track having a night-on-the-town ripping sound. “I don’t need anybody / The whole world is inside me” makes for a start of lyrics that, if they don’t pique your interest, the hyper full-band rhythm and feel-good factor certainly should" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Dmitry Wild presents his new single 'Don't Need Anybody' after a brief pandemic-inspired pause since releasing three singles in 2020. Here we find him immersed in his trademark blend of 70’s vintage rock, mixed with garage rock and punk ethos. Together with the B-side 'Summer of 2021', it will be released digitally on December 1. For this single, Wild worked with Byron Frayne (mixing) and NYC blues-rock cult hero David Patillo (mixing and mastering).

The adventurous music video was filmed around Hudson, NY by the Strange House video / audio production company, produced by Byron Fyrne and edited by Tryst, who herself even stars in this video.

Following his latest single ''Pandemic Summer', we sense the proverbial fog somewhat lifting with this new single. "The idea came during the Pandemic. I felt people needed more positivity in the world around us," says Dmitry Wild.

For Dmitry Wild, all ultimately lead back to oneself. After surviving 9/11 due to a late train on the way to band practice, he has fronted 10 bands of his own and collaborated with the likes of The Cramps' Jungle Jim and Vladimir Komarovfrom the iconic Russian band Punk TV (and also a NYC-based producer).

"Every song offers opposing storyline, there is a separate theatre of meanings and emotions that highlights what we as humanity just lived through in 2020, but when that’s done in major tonalities and to a rippind drum beat it feels good to be alive again," says Dmitry Wild.

"The first song 'Don’t Need Anybody' offers an introspection and resolution that you don’t need anybody’s approval, digital or physical, for you to accept yourself for who you are. Also, to really truly live, all you need is some time, peace and your own soul to guide you an emotion that gets yelled out through the microphone."

A musician, actor and writer, Dmitry Wild's ever-present musical persona always leads him on fascinating adventures. His book 'Why Be Normal? details a raucous road trip and his own personal search for the American Dream.

Upon escaping the pandemic with a move upstate to Hudson, New York, he launched a more solo trajectory as the main writer, composer, guitarist and a performer of all material. With performance, emotion and lyrics at the core of his music, live shows take on a theatrical and, at times, mystical experience with a band of true conspirators, performing under the name Dmitry Wild and The Spells (with Peter Breed doubling on keys and bass).

In early 2022, Dmitry Wild plans to release a full-length album of edgy ballads, folky gipsy tales, a few covers, other introspective tracks inspired by the 80's and garage blues. For now, 'Don't Need Anybody' will be released on December 1 and will be available across all good digital sites, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where it can already be ordered.

NEW SINGLES: 'Rewind' by TINY FIGHTER (Sweden-Australia indiepop)

"True formula for success... recalls Four Non-Blondes, Sheryl Crow and No Doubt. With a voice similar to Karin Elisabeth Dreijer of The Knife" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Delicate and penetrating... Tiny Fighter has never done us wrong. Every single they've ever released has been stunning and always expertly produced" ~ Skylight Webzine

"Dramatic structure... powerful and emotionally wrenching" ~ PopMatters

"Impeccable harmonic tones, which endear throughout. Catchy with fresh emotive texture and a sense of drama that comes through in what is a grounded performance" ~ Amplify Music Mag

“Conceptual and epic.. some of the most exciting new talent out of Sweden” ~ Hhhappy Magazine

“Dreamy indie pop that becomes the soundtrack of your life… radiates pure vitality” ~ The Revue

Swedish-Australian indie pop outfit Tiny Fighter presents their new single 'Rewind',the first taster and the title track of their new album of the same name, slated for release in the first week of December. The relaxed grounding video for this track was created by filmmaker Christian Rutegård and Therese Karlsson.

Formed in 2017, Tiny Fighter grew from a collaboration between Therese Karlsson(a truck driver from Kalmar in the deep south of Sweden) and Tim Spelman (a doctor from the deep south of Australia), into a full band with members from all over the globe (Poland, Israel, UK, Australia, Sweden). They have released a string of singles and EPs, a live album, a remix collection and the full-length debut album 'Going Home'.

After racking up 1 million views on YouTube, over 700,000 Spotify streams and successful tours through the US, Canada and Europe, Sweden’s Tiny Fighter were poised for a small but significant slice of world domination. Then came COVID, effectively putting the brakes on the whole machine. Faced with an extended period of no touring, a fan-campaign led by a collection of locked-down Tiny Fighter supporters began to follow-up the band’s celebrated 'Loft Sessions (Live in New York)' album. The problem – there was no live music, much less any touring. The solution – record a completely new record combining brand new songs with re-interpretations of some of their fan-favourites. Thus, the 'Rewind' album was born.

Different times call for different methods. The 'Rewind' recording sessions saw the band bring in an absolute sack full of new instruments, including mandolins, dobro, trumpets, flugelhorns, pedal steel and drum machines. In perhaps what is their most Scandinavian moment to date, Tiny Fighter recorded vocals in the studio sauna (arguably on account of the excellent sound-proofing and bonus warmth.

Tim Spelman comments, "This record represents somewhat of a departure from our previous pop-rock based releases, with a heavier reliance on acoustic instruments and bringing in new layers including brass, mandolins, pedal steel and drum machines. The pop is still there, but it’s more intimate and stripped back – that’s why we recorded the vocals in our sauna".

This long-player again sees Tiny Fighter team up Swedish metal legend and multi-Grammy award winning producer Thomas “Plec” Johansson (Opeth, Soilwork, Degrade), this album being recorded at The Panic Room Studio in Skövde and Stockholm, Sweden.

"Our new album is a more acoustic take on our songs that already exist, with the exception of one cover and a Swedish version of one of our songs. It has been fun looking into our own rearview mirror and now bringing some of our songs to light once more with an acoustic touch. So for this album, we are Rewinding time and, at the same time, we look forward to seeing what lies ahead of us," says Therese Karlsson.

"Usually I receive the music from Tim, so first I get particular feelings from the music and that feeling turns into words and, in the end, it becomes a story. The lyrics are inspired by other people, their life stories or my own inner feelings or observations about society. This 'Rewind' album sees a mix of all of that."

On December 3, the 'Rewind' album will be released via Bay Terrace Records and will be available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where it is available for pre-order.

OUT THIS WEEK: SHRINARI 'Hold On To The Hope, Though' (indie pop)

"Omamori’s crystalline vocals and sense of innocence take us on a reflective and purifying flight... Angulo’s instrumentation provides the perfect peaceful crucible in which to hold it, confidently and reassuringly... could be dubbed earth-pop" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Soft-spoken pop meets a purifying Irish spring... Weaving musical tapestries with harp, guitar and vocals... a beautiful marriage of sound with song, drawing you in with frequencies and tones that seemingly connect with our organs and cells" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"'A clear and strong earthy and believable delivery with a minimalistic song framework. The sparse drum beat, impactful synth-line and involvement of a choir accent this notably soulful and well-orchestrated track... reminiscent of Jewel and Shawn Colvin. Maggie Reilly's voice on Mike Oldfield's 'Moonlight Shadow' also comes to mind" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

British-Spanish indie folk duo Shrinari present their new long-player 'Hold On To The Hope, Though', a collection of deep, inspirational tracks recorded over the past few years, bringing the listener with them on a surrealistic journey on a path of discovery. You could call this music Genre Fluid, Sacred Funk or Spirit Soul. You could call it High Frequency Music or World Folk Pop. This beautifully-crafted collection is inspiration and full of love, light and positivity.

These eight tracks intertwine the personal and the collective, giving voice to the challenges we are facing in these changing times. Always delivered with a Shrinari sense of optimism and hope filled wonder, their music reflects the point of no return that we are living through historically, together with the timeless themes of human existence and evolution.

"This moment in time feels like a crucial point. We’re in the middle of a bridge we’re crossing between what we have been and what we will become. This album is a bridge as well between many aspects: the personal and the collective, the ancestral and the contemporary, the magical and the mundane, logic and intuition, fear and trust, etc.," says Rafael Marchante Angulo.

Based in London, Shrinari is a leading duo on the British spiritual music scene, who tour internationally. Formed by Lucidia Omamori and Rafael Marchante Angulo, they incorporate harp, guitar and vocals into their music, which has a strong spiritual component and carries a message of hope, unity and connection.

This follows the single 'Standing Rock', which features London-based chamber-pop artist Heren Wolf, notable Spanish drummer Edu Olmedo and the sublime horn section from Brixton reggae, dub and afrobeat band The Soothsayers. Lucidia worked with Basma Jabbar, putting Lucidia's poem to melody and music, which was then developed and produced by Rafael Marchante Angulo (and performed at the Extinction Rebellion protests in London and BBC Airwaves Festival).

The duo had announced this album with lead track 'The Gift' with an earth-loving video by Kai Ohio, based on a concept by Lucidia Omamori, and the cinematic ethno-folk-pop ballad 'Desert Path', reflecting a magical encounter with the supernatural world and a tale of love with all its twists and turns.

Shrinari make music that brings hope, fuels a positive outlook on life, and promotes ecological and spiritual awareness. With their new musical output, Shrinari continue their transcendent adventure in consciousness and celebration of love and life through the synergy of sound and song.

"These lyrics depict personal and profound moments of exploration and discovery in my inner and outer journey, articulating my process of understanding my inner conflicts, integrating the effect of witnessing and contributing to the destruction of this planet we have been gifted. This is a reminder to ourselves and others to hold on to the hope, to perceive and to experience beauty where it still dwells, and to take action to shift the balance in a positive direction for the future generations. A reminder to honour all the teachings we have received along the way on our diverse path of spiritual searching, philosophical understanding and to show up with deep conviction to love this planet and preserve the beauty for all life as a result of clarity I have received in moments of realisation," says Lucidia Omamori.

As of November 24, the 'Hold Onto The Hope, Though' album will be available digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and directly from the artist via Bandcamp. A percentage of profits from all their music goes to support projects aimed at protecting the earth and indigenous peoples.

Bristol indie pop collective Modesty Blaise presents 'I'll Be Home For Xmas' single

"Clever they are Modesty Blaise – they know just what to borrow, and just what to create. Most importantly – they know just how to blend and what a cocktail they create here on this album, from track to track, from strength to strength" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Modesty Blaise makes for cheeky pop perfection... Fantabulous dance-pop, Modesty Blaise will remind you that Brits are the king of wit and groovy retro-laced musical wanderings, not far from the mark set by Pulp back in the 90s" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

“A sublime sugar lump... captures what is great about charming English pop. Part C86 part 67 psych pop, a beautifully written slice of nostalgia" ~ Monolith Cocktail

"This will lure you in... This is the new Pulp - but with steller retro flair that, both sound and fashion-wise, runs deeper than Jarvis Cocker's own wardrobe" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

Bristol-based Avant indie pop outfit Modesty Blaise are ending 2021 in a blaze of Christmas delight with their new single 'I'll Be Home For Xmas', out on November 26. They present their festival message in a buoyant poptastic festive video, produced by Dorothy Collins with support from cinematographer M.M. Van Dyke, and filmed at various locations and Factory Studios in Bristol.

Modesty Blaise have always wanted to make a Xmas record. Steeped in the traditions of the Spector/Wizzard school of huge productions, recording started in July 2021 at the height of summer, as all good Xmas records should. Many instruments and sessions later, this single came to fruition in late October as days grew shorter. Now it’s ready for you. Are you bringing the snow?

This release follows up ‘The Modesty Blaise’ LP (February 2021), their third release via German label From Lo-Fi to Disco! and first long-player in 20 years, having released their head-turning 'Melancholia' LP in 2001.

Modesty Blaise mastermind and vocalist Jonny Collins is joined here by David W. Brown (bass), Gregory Jones (guitars), Mark Bradley (drums), Alastair Jenkins (guitars) and Roger Huckle (violin).

"We’re not just making a tune for 2021, this is a conscious decision to make a timeless tune. All great Xmas records are timeless, from Wizzard to The Wombles, we play them every year. They do not age; they invoke Proustian memories of festive seasons past. We want to be part of your Xmas - so we’re coming home," says Jonny Collins.

"I always thought that nothing says Xmas quite like 2 drum kits, a massive tune and a baritone sax. We think this is the best Xmas record that you’ll have heard this side of the millennium, we’ve tried to make something timeless and we hope you agree. We want to be part of your festive season this year and in years to come."

Modesty Blaise have been around since 1993 in various guises. In that year, they recorded their debut single 'Christina Terrace' with Edwyn Collins at the helm, garnering them immediate success with a live appearance on ITV and inclusion among many end-of-year top music rankings. This acclaim however was not enough to quell the kind of internecine warfare that Modesty Blaise have become famous for. Line-up changes and deteriorating personal circumstances delved into an all-too-familiar spiral and it would be years until a full reformation.

Oher Modesty Blaise career highlights include supporting Robbie Williams at London's O2 Arena, inclusion in a Rough Trade compilation, an ITV company documentary on Jonny Collins, and a BBC Radio session involving seventeen people.

On November 26, 'I'll Be Home For Xmas' will be released digitally via German label From Lo-Fi to Disco! with distribution by Broken Silence. It will be available everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where 'The Modesty Blaise' LP can also be obtained. Physical albums can also be ordered from Rough Trade in the UK, hhv in Germany, Disk Union in Japan and directly from the label.

We Are In Transit (WAIT) Announce Debut Studio Album 'The End of Noise'

We Are In Transit (WAIT) Announce Debut Album

'The End of Noise' Coming February 11, 2022 via The Artisan Era

Baltimore tech-metal outfit WAIT (We Are In Transit) have announced the details for their debut studio album. The new record, 'The End of Noise', will see a February 11th, 2022release via The Artisan Era! WAIT first took shape when guitarist Charlie Eron partnered with Max Phelps (of Cynic and Defeated Sanity fame). The band released their self-titled EP in 2019, with bassist Alex Weber and drummer Anup Sastry rounding out the lineup at this point.

To give fans a taste of their upcoming debut full-length, WAIT have released the first single from the LP, titled "Lone Presence Supreme". The group has also dropped a lyric video for the track, which can be found below.

Speaking on the new album, the members of WAIT comment:

"'The End of Noise' is a synonym for the stillness of the mind when one is either in a deep meditative state, asleep, or dead. "Noise" refers to the mental static one hears and feels resulting from a neverending barrage of stimuli. In the process of writing 'The End of Noise', Charlie turned 30, and the typical existential crisis that occurs at that stage in life influenced the dramatic nature of the writing and lyrical content. While the previous EP could be described as esoteric and under-the-skin deep, 'The End of Noise' aims to conceptually drill to the very core of the Earth."

About WAIT:

WAIT was formed circa 2016 by guitarist Charlie Eron and vocalist/guitarist Max Phelps (Exist, Cynic, Defeated Sanity, Death To All). With the addition of bassist Alex Weber (Exist, Malignancy, Svengahli, Ex-Sabbath Assembly, ex-Jeff Loomis), the trio released their debut EP "We Are in Transit" in 2019 with drums by Anup Sastry. WAIT's music is about the process of living, and how time is starkly linear and unrecoverable. Their debut full-length record, "The End of Noise", is about the inner mercilessness of everyday existence.

"’Invoking the Priestess' is a song written utilizing imagery from the Tarot. It’s about going within oneself to find the answers to life’s questions. The Priestess esoterically speaking is the subconscious itself. By listening to the voice within our hearts we are indeed invoking the Priestess’’ - John Logan Parsons III

“Immerser has a refreshing way of building layers of mystery and meaning into rock songs that feel uniquely their own. You’d be hard pressed to listen to one of their songs and not have it change you somehow.” - Kane Churko (Producer)

“Immerser is a unique artist with a worthy message and creative vision”. - Aaron Nordstrom (Gemini Syndrome)

Immerser is a dynamic, hard rock, solo project featuring the powerful music of John Logan Parsons III. The goal of the Immerser project is to bring meaning to a melody. As an artist John L Parsons III isn’t afraid to explore the deepest parts of the subconscious. Immerser songs deal with some of life’s darkest places, yet there is always an energetic undercurrent of optimism, spirituality, and love running throughout. The result is a passionate mix of alternative, pop, grunge, and metal. Immerser is music that a listener can connect with and find deeper meaning in. With the recent enlistment of world renowned producer Kane Churko who has worked with some of today’s biggest artists including - In This Moment, Gemini Syndrome and Violent Idols, Immerser is certainly a musical force to be reckoned with. ABOUT POWERWOLF:

The story of POWERWOLF, beginning in 2004, reads like a true fairytale, but is the result of the most hard-working and entertaining live band on the heavy metal planet. POWERWOLF has not only received plenty of Gold and Platinum awards to date, but numerous releases have entered the official German album charts at the top position #1. With Blessed & Possessed (2015), POWERWOLF achieved Gold status (in the Czech Republic) for the first time, while its predecessor, Preachers Of The Night (2013), hit the official German album charts at #1, and the incredible DVD, The Metal Mass (2016), came in at #1 of the German DVD-Charts. POWERWOLF's holy mass in the name of heavy metal is unstoppable – their latest magnum opus, The Sacrament of Sin (2018), again entered the album charts at #1. The accompanying, almost completely sold out Wolfsnächte headline tour, in which POWERWOLF headlined large venues with their phenomenal stage performances, became a single major triumph – as well as the numerous summer festival shows in which crowds were thrilled and completely captivated by the ‘wolf and their unique, (un)holy metal mass. With the new studio album, Call Of The Wild, and the Wolfsnächte 2021 tour charging through the largest halls in Europe, 2021 will again be a year completely under the sign of the wolf pack!

Brand Of Sacrifice & Spiritbox Team Up For Shibori Threads Metal Streetwear Drop

Brand Of Sacrifice Owned Custom Streetwear Brand

SHIBORI THREADS

Announce Limited Edition Collaboration With

Spiritbox

On-Sale 12am EST on Friday November 26th

ShiboriThreads.com

SHIBORI THREADS - the metal streetwear brand co-owned by Kyle Anderson (vocals) and Leo Valeri (guitar) of manga-themed deathcore behemoth BRAND OF SACRIFICE - have announced a very special Black Friday drop in collaboration with one of the hottest new bands in heavy music, SPIRITBOX. As is the case with all SHIBORI THREADS items, the SPIRITBOX sweatsuit is custom cut, dyed and sewn, meaning that the 500 items of each design are all slightly unique. The collab goes live at 12am on Friday, November 26th, 2021 from ShiboriThreads.com

Speaking on their latest collaboration, Leo Valeri shares

“We’re beyond stoked to collaborate with one of the most exciting and promising heavy bands in the scene. There’s no doubt Eternal Blue pushed the genre forward in unprecedented ways, so we wanted to put together a bespoke crossover collection that would fit into that same standard - and I think we’ve definitely done that! These are some of the best Shibori designs released to date!”

Taking their name from a Japanese method of tie dying garments, SHIBORI THREADS is the new frontier of custom cut & sew streetwear apparel. Their designs are intricate and bold, encompassing collaborations with notable pop culture brands and artists within the metal scene from which they came. Since launching earlier this year, the brand have collaborated on previous drops with Dance Gavin Dance, Killswitch Engage, Crown The Empire, Erra, Fit For A King, August Burns Red, The Deathcore Collection feat. Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin, Thy Art Is Murder, Veil of Maya, Carnifex and Despised icon and their original Slaughter to Sacrifice drop, a mash up of Brand Of Sacrifice and Slaughter To Prevail. Every single drop has sold out before the week-long availability window closed, with some selling out in less than 24 hours. The store has featured in the top 1% trafficked stores on Shopify, driving around 20,000 monthly visitors.

Speaking on the enormous success of SHIBORI THREADS, Leo Valeri shares

"Kyle and I have been active in the music industry and very tuned into streetwear and alternative fashion for a long time now, so we set out to create a brand that bridges the barrier between the edgy imagery you find in metal, and the robust palettes and high quality of today's streetwear trends. Coming up in the metal scene, we noticed something missing when it came to creative and colorful band merchandise. Most rock artists just print on black shirts... which is kind of boring, considering the extremely lively and exciting music they often make.

"When it all began, Shibori Threads was just a passion project run out of our apartments. We were literally printing labels and shipping everything on our own, by hand. We considered it a great way to work with and support some of our favorite artists during the pandemic while making apparel we would actually wear."

Each design is extremely limited with only 500 pieces available for a 1 week period starting Friday, November 26th, 2021. Fans should note that due to each item being hand-made, there is a production turn around of 6-8 weeks.

With more exciting brand and band collabs on the way, SHIBORI THREADS are only just getting started. Follow the trail of dye—or get left behind

Z2 Comics proudly announces that one of the biggest acts in the history of heavy music will team with the rapidly growing entertainment brand for an original graphic novel to be released in 2022, in time for the anniversary of their highest selling album of all time, the indisputable classic: Screaming for Vengeance.

Teaming with writers Rantz Hoseley (Comic Book Tattoo, the Heroin Diaries) and Neil Kleid(Savor), and artist Christopher Mitten (Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.), the multi-platinum selling Metal Gods bestow upon their generations of fans their first-ever graphic novel!

500 years from now, a ring of cities orbit high above the surface of a dead world, controlled by a ruling elite that maintains power through manipulation and brutality. When a naïve engineer inadvertently threatens the status quo with his vital scientific discovery… A BLOODSTONE... he is betrayed by those he trusted and cast out to the broken planet below. In the wreckage and desolation of a broken world where every day is a battle for survival, he must choose between accepting his new life in exile…or SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE.

“I cannot overstate what an inspiration Judas Priest has been to me, personally.” said Hoseley. “I was already a fan of the band, when Screaming for Vengeance was released, but no one was ready for the impact it had. That incredible cover art? Those songs? That album became my daily soundtrack and creative fuel, to the point where I wore the cassette out in my car. To be able to contribute to a project inspired by these songs that mean so much to me? Well, that is an honor and a responsibility I take very seriously.”

To further celebrate the creative legacy of this monumental album and landmark anniversary, the graphic novel includes an extensive interview with original cover artist Doug Johnson in which he discusses the process of creating the award-winning album cover design, and the origin of the metallic bird of prey, now known as “The Hellion." Additionally, as part of the expansion of Z2’s product offerings, newly appointed Z2 Vice President of Collectibles and Aggronautix founder Clint Weiler has designed a detailed Hellion statue, with working “electric eyes” in celebration of both the original album design, and the dramatic conclusion of the story in the SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE graphic novel"

Certified double platinum in the United States, Screaming for Vengeance was released in July of 1982, and marked the beginning of the band’s success in North America, transcending the “new wave of British heavy metal” sound they had come to define, and moving them into the mainstream despite a heavier-than-ever sound. The album’s first single “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming” would prove to be one of the biggest hard rock hits in history and continues to inspire fists in the air around the world to this day. The album was ranked #3 on Rolling Stone’s 2017 list of “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time,” and is celebrated throughout the world as one of the genre’s most defining moments, ushering in the success of heavy music in the 1980s up through today.

Judas Priest: Screaming for Vengeance will be released in both softcover and hardcover formats in finer bookstores, comic shops and record stores everywhere in July 2022, with special limited deluxe and super deluxe versions featuring an exclusive anniversary vinyl LP, prints and more available to preorder now exclusively through the Z2 website.

About Judas Priest
There are few heavy metal bands that have managed to scale the heights that Judas Priest have during their 50-year career. Their presence and influence remains at an all-time high as evidenced by 2018's 'Firepower' being the highest charting album of their career, a 2010 Grammy Award win for 'Best Metal Performance', plus being a 2006 VH1 Rock Honors recipient. Poised now to celebrate that illustrious career as they enter their 50th year in the industry - 2020 will see the band embark on an epic 50thanniversary tour in celebration. Judas Priest originally formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England (an area that many feel birthed heavy metal). Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing and Ian Hill would be the nucleus of musicians (along with several different drummers over the years) that would go on to change the face of heavy metal. The current line up which changed in 2011 consists of Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Ian Hill, Richie Faulkner and Scott Travis - Priest also received a second Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination in 2019, with 2020 serving as the 40th anniversary of ‘British Steel’ and the 30th anniversary of ‘Painkiller.’ But most importantly, 2020 is the band’s 50th anniversary and they are planning a major tour for the world to celebrate this remarkable band’s 50 YEARS OF HEAVY METAL!!

Manchester's Inca Babies releases 'Swamp Street Soul', first LP in 7 years. Watch the new video for 'Crawling Garage Gasoline'

"Their almost serpentine invention and dark musical incitements have continued to inspire and invigorate... one of the leading lights and template setting protagonists of British rock ‘n’ roll" ~ Ringmaster Review

"Coming in like a hurricane and tastefully blending rock, grunge, punk and blues, the Incas serve up unhinged sophistication and moody textures. Packing a big punch, their high octane sound is loaded with adrenaline and spunk" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Thirty years down the line the Inca Babies' recordings are not just a collection of outstanding songs from independent music's golden age... they remain pretty much a life statement; a declaration of intent" ~ Isolation Records

"Beautifully wrought... grows on you each time you listen to it. The production integrity is particularly notable and the twangy baseline sits in your brain well after listening" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"All the drive and spunk of an adrenaline-filled 30-something viper rocker" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A distinctive presence around Manchester and beyond in the 80s... the new songs are leaner, more direct, Stafford summoning up psychobilly demons on his guitar... It’s powerful and it’s punk. It’s great to see a forgotten band back on their own terms and thriving" ~ The Spill Magazine

Post-punk swamp-goth rockers Inca Babies pare back with resent ‘Swamp Street Soul’, their eighth studio album. This collection of new tunes, drawn from their fantastic imagination, offers a hefty dose of the gritty sound that the Manchester-based deathrock / postpunk outfit have become known for over the decades since forming in 1983.

Produced by Simon 'Ding' Archer (The Fall, PJ Harvey) at 6Db Studios, the clarity and fullness of sound on this 11-track offering surpasses that of any previous Inca release.

Today Inca Babies is a trio made up of Harry Stafford (guitar, keys, vocals), bassist Vince Hunt (A Witness, Blue Orchids) and Rob Haynes (The Membranes, Goldblade) on drums and percussion. It's been seven years since the final release of their Death Blues Trilogy - 'Death Message Blues' (2010), 'Deep Dark Blue' (2012) and 'The Stereo Plan' (2014).

‘Swamp Street Soul’ takes us across a tightly euphoric path of differing moods and new arenas of guitar songwriting. This LP continues the band's explosive exploration of goth-punk and death-rock and trash blues with epic cautionary ballads. Frontman Harry Stafford has written a fulsome collection of tall tales of madness, fearfully larger-than-life characters and extravagant yarns, backed by a no-nonsense rhythm section locked into a pounding backbeat.

The trio also present their new video for 'Crawling Garage Gasoline' (along with b-side 'Grunt Cadillac Hotel', produced by Harry Stafford at NoiseBoy Studios in Salford. Earlier, the Incas previewed lead track 'Walk In The Park' with a strutting blues beat, infectious guitar lick and bluesy post-punk musings.

"This 'Crawling Garage Gasoline' is a re visiting of a 1980s Inca’s classic, all bluster and ‘pedal to the metal’ speed punk. It’s a tale of the descent into the maelstrom but don’t forget to get some gas along the way. The urge to re-record this came from its popularity as a live song at recent Inca gigs, now paired down and with more bite, it has certainly stood the test of time. It was originally released on the 'Surfin’ in Locustland' EP back in 1985 and was also recorded for the Incas' third John Peel session in June that year," says Harry Stafford.

A vibrant part of Britain's early postpunk / death rock scene, Inca Babies' story began in 1983 in the now-legendary deck-access flats of Hulme (Manchester), which were intended as ‘cities in the sky’ for young executives but quickly became cockroach-infested slums mostly inhabited by students, artists, and drug addicts. True to DIY ethos, they self-released their debut single 'Interior' in 1984.

With a further six singles and four albums over five years, all of which entered the UK Indie Charts, they also recorded four sessions for BBC's John Peel show in 1984-1988 before calling it quits. Since reforming in 2007, they've released three albums and toured extensively around Europe, including Russia, as well as North America and India. Renewed interest in the Incas was propelled by Cherry Red Records 'Best Of’ compilation release ‘Inca Babies 1983-87: Plutonium’.

As of November 23, the ‘Swamp Street Soul’ album will be available digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where it can be ordered directly from the band. It can also be obtained via the Louder Than War shop.
