NILE mastermind Karl Sanders says about the signing with Napalm Records:

“The band is eagerly looking forward to bringing fans the next chapters in the NILE saga, as part of the Napalm Family. We have been quietly working away, earnestly writing new songs for the next NILE album. It will be NILE’s 10th record, and we are determined to make it especially killer for the fans.”

Drummer George Kollias adds:

“Absolutely thrilled that we are a part of Napalm Records and super excited for the new album that’s coming soon, first one with our new label! I feel this is a very crucial moment in our career and I would like to thank Napalm Records for their trust in us - I know we will do some incredible music together! NILE has always kept raising the bar without compromising a single thing and this is what we will do for the next album too. Working on our new album as we speak, and we are hungry as hell to deliver our very best yet!”

Sebastian Muench, Napalm Records A&R, says:

“For me, NILE has always been the most amazing technical death metal band in the world. Starting with Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka in 1998, NILE have released nine "instant classic" albums! Welcome to the Napalm family!”

In other news, NILE recently announced that they will release a new anthology guitar tablature book via Sheet Happens on September 30, 2021. The book is available to order now. For more information, visit www.sheethappenspublishing.com/artists/nile.

Karl Sanders says about the tablature book:

“Also coming out soon is a retrospective NILE anthology guitar tab book that was months in the making. We had a blast putting it together with the Sheet Happens people, who really do incredible work presenting totally on point metal guitar tabs. Accurate NILE tabs are something NILE fans have been asking me for many years, and I felt strongly about only putting out a NILE tab book if we could get it 100% authentic. And these tabs are the real thing. I sincerely am happy to share this book, and the music within, with NILE fans and guitarists alike.”

Stay tuned for more big NILE news coming soon!

Behemoth’s Nergal Releases ME AND THAT MAN’s Second Single + Official Video “Angel Of Light” (ft. Myrkur)

New Album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.2, out November 19, 2021 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order Your Copy NOW!

Behemoth mastermind Adam “Nergal” Darski and his dark folk/blues/Americana influenced solo project ME AND THAT MAN just released the soulful blues-rock ballad “Angel of Lightfeaturing the compelling voice of Myrkur – setting another milestone within the scene and following the millions of streams of his previous tracks.

After the first release of the album’s track “Got Your Tongue” (ft. Chris Georgiadis) connected with groovy riffs, humorous acting and a deep hitting bassline, ME AND THAT MAN now presents a different facet with “Angel Of Light” – a soulful blues-rock ballad featuring the intoxicating hum of Amalie Bruun (Myrkur) – sending shivers right down your spine. The new single comes with a hauntingly beautiful and bittersweet music video, featuring both, Nergal and Myrkur.

Nergal about “Angel Of Light”:

“Behold the “Angel of Light”! This song is perhaps the most sinister and dark Americana in our repertoire. Whilst we often offer a little smile and wink with our music, this is pure Luciferian splendour delivered by our very own angel, Amalie from Myrkur. It’s all yours now folks! Enjoy!”

Amalie adds:

“I am excited to collaborate with Nergal on this song and video, where I play the role of a woman who's captured by the shadow. She looks for ways out and turns to the “Angel Of Light” for guidance and comfort.”

Atlanta indie electro-rock duo I Am a Rocketship return with 'Fever Dream', previewing most ambitious LP yet

"Delightful and melodic, their catchy offerings are dreamy yet grounded, loaded but not overinflated. Sonic symmetry! Artists that come to mind include Beck, Tom Petty and Pink Floyd" Amplify Music Mag

"This powerful track is superb in every respect... may actually be their greatest"Big Takeover Magazine

"Bedroom Pop with an edge" ~ The Hype Magazine

"Everything you expect and more... too smart to be pop, too subtle to truly be classed as rock" ~ Dancing About Architecture

"A unique combination of slow harmony and sonic dissonance... pleasing to the ears and compelling to the heart... Brilliant" Jammerzine

American-Swedish indie pop outfit I Am a Rocketship have announced that they will release their new album 'Lies and Legends' in November, ahead of which they present the lead track 'Fever Dream'.

Based in Atlanta, I Am a Rocketship is a duo comprised of Eric Weissinger and L E Kippner, who mix smooth impressionistic lyrics and rock guitar with a dash of Dirty South beats and psychedelic bombast.

Both raised on folk and classical music, the two later discovered bands such as Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Massive Attack and Sigur Ros. Suckers for a pop hook, I Am a Rocketship is a self-contained duo, who write, record and create art and videos without the involvement of other contributors.

The new 'Lies and Legends' album is their most ambitious collection to date. These ten songs are about the appeal, in trying times, of lies and legends over reason and love. They give people hope, a feeliong of belonging, and frequently, a license to do terrible things in the name of their belief.

"When facts are scary, people turn to belief. I guess these are songs about failth, how it can be comforting, but blinding," says guitarist and programmer Eric Weissinger.

All the music on the 'Lies and Legends' album was recorded on a notebook computer during early 2021 - a very productive year for the band given the amount of time spent under lockdown, with late 2020 also bringing their 'oRAnGE' EP, a release laced with frustration, sadness and rage over the rise of authoritarianism and accelerating environmental collapse.

Earlier, I Am a Rocketship released their 'Ghost Stories' LP (April 2020), 'Mind Grafitti' (2019) and debut offering 'Mission Control' (2016).

Eric Weissinger used to back up various artists, opening for bands such as The Wedding Present, The Black Crowes, James, Cracker and Portastatic. But everything changed thanks to a chance meeting with L E Kippner - cellist, scientist, radio DJ and singer for Swedish synth-pop duo Neobox. At first forming Hitchcock Blondes in Ohio, they relocated to Atlanta for a fresh start as I Am a Rocketship.

As of September 24, 'Fever Dream' will be available as an instant grat download on Bandcamp, where the full 'Lies and Legends' album can be pre-ordered directly from the artist. The album will be released on November 11 across digital platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Heavy Metal/ Industrial Artist, THE HATE CLUB, Releases New PROLOGUE EP TODAY!!

mail-179.jpeg

THE HATE CLUB music can be bought/streamed at:

https://fanlink.to/the-hate-club

Heavy Metal / Industrial artist THE HATE CLUB released their new PROLOGUE EP to all major platforms today!

"The Hate Club is proud of what was accomplished with this EP. I died, I survived, I starved and prospered. The "EP" chapter is over and I feel like the entire world is within my reach, lying on my palms to be destroyed or to be created. I'm fighting to carry the sigil of Metal. I will carry it on, I will pass it on. With the Prologue EP The Hate Club makes his final statement before a debut album. He is ready" says Alex Poe.

All songs were written, recorded, performed, produced and engineered by Alex Poe.

The Hate Club currently has over 1,500,000 streams across all platforms and over 40,000 monthly listeners on Spotify!

An artist needs room for growth and the ability to live on the edge. Unwilling to be defined by merely one element or another, Alex Poe is a one-man band quenching his creative thirst with The Hate Club.

An Industrial Metal act spawned in 2017 from Poe's desire to satisfy a diverse vision, The Hate Club is a mix of social satire and aggression. While still taking shape as a musical entity, the journey for Poe began much earlier on with eccentric tastes ranging from Jazz to Rock-n-Roll.
A native of the Ukraine, Poe left the confines of home at only 18 years of age with his eyes set on Los Angeles. Now calling the City of Angels his own, as a self-starter he has already released 3 EPs, several singles, as well as multiple music videos. Very hands on, he has also organized 2 DIY tours in the US, achieved formidable online press placement, and remains active performing on the West Coast.

Yet still this does not tell the whole story of The Hate Club. With The Hate Club's eyes set on the future, Poe continues to spread his wings as a triple threat: writer, producer, and performer. Often bipolar in approach yet never lacking sincerity or originality, The Hate Club lies somewhere in between Nine Inch Nails, Led Zeppelin, and Gorillaz. Possessing a Punk Rock attitude with a harsher Electronic and Heavy Metal-edged soul, The Hate Club is a reflection of the hypocrisy that is society. Something Poe is fascinated by, look at The Hate Club as the agnostic peddler not dragging you into the fire, but enticing you to observe from afar.

Well-versed in both music and literature, Poe proudly flies the flag of his eclectic background. Factors that only add to the depth of an ever-evolving sound, he exclaims, “I think of music as a painting - it tells a story and has a hidden meaning, an argot. While the song stays one, ways of hearing it are incalculable."

“I think of music as a painting - it tells a story and has a hidden meaning, an argot. And while the song stays one, ways of hearing it are incalculable" says Alex.

On January 21, 2021, The Hate Club released their highly anticipated animated video for single "MY NAME IS LEGION." The video has over 260,000 views on YouTube and can be seen here:

GLASSING Release New Single “Absolute Virtue” - New Album 'Twin Dream' Out November 5th

Texas Doom Metal outfit GLASSING have released a new single from their upcoming studio album, Twin Dream. The new track, titled "Absolute Virtue", is out now on major streaming/digital platforms, and can be heard via the YouTube link below and Invisible Oranges HERE.

Speaking about the new single, the band comments:

"'This track is about humanity's slow burn to extinction. The question of where do we find the will to persist as things just get worse? The title 'Absolute Virtue' describes this very crucial, hidden spiritedness that guides our self-preservation."

GLASSING's third full-length studio offering, Twin Dream, will see a November 5th, 2021release via Brutal Panda Records. The album is a sonic mirror of our modern era, and nothing short of immense; ranging from grim to hopeful to destructive to cathartic, and oftentimes all within a single song. Throughout Twin Dream, GLASSING channels multifarious energies that delve deep into the Underland while simultaneously exploring the celestial.

Glassing is also thrilled to share that the band will play a special album release show on Sunday, November 13th at Hotel Vegas in Austin, TX. Tickets are available at:

PRE-ORDER 'Twin Dream' HERE

Twin Dream was recorded with Andrew Hernandez (This Will Destroy You, Balmorhea, The Sword, Mammoth Grinder) in a remote Texas studio replete with crumbling infrastructure and the ghosts of country troubadours echoing amongst the walls. Elements of post-hardcore, black metal, noise rock, ambient, shoegaze, and doom swirl together to create a rich palette of mood and textures across 11 tracks that ruminate on splintered realities, altered consciousness, and esoteric philosophy. While the world burned on the outside, the music took on an entirely new meaning and those that survived the nightmare were left with a newfound sense of hope amongst the bleak reality. Twin Dream is the archetypal soundtrack to these end of times.

More About Glassing

ATX based Glassing is a three-piece, genre-blending amalgamation of heavy music saturated sonorously in dejection. Notable elements of Post Rock, Shoegaze, Doom, and American Black Metal, Glassing have been making music that walks the line between all 4 genres seemingly all at once. Fronted by Cory Brim on guitars, Dustin Coffman on bass and vocals, and Jason Camacho on drums, each individual has a mastery of control over each genre, brandishing an outward love and appreciation for all of them simultaneously. This type of coalescence has prompted an estrangement towards traditional fans of metal excluding them from the genre for some almost entirely. Flaunting an unapologetic stance towards moving their style forward in any way they can, Glassing simply creates what they wish to hear for themselves. Using each division as a medium of creativity with no restrictions to genre traditionalism or gatekeeping. Since their conception in 2015 they have come out with one self-titled EP, the two LPs "Light And Death" and "Spotted Horse" and are anticipating the release of their third full-length record aptly named "Twin Dream". Since the recording of “Twin Dream”, the band has brought synth and midi noise master Shaun Ringsmuth of Street Sects on board for live show performances and future compositions.

UK electro wizards SPRAY preview 'Hammered In An Airport' from 'Ambiguous Poems About Death' LP

"'Hammered In An Airport' is a fantastically catchy and grooving witty club anthem for those who are unable to travel, but desperately wish to... This would’ve been a right club-hopping chart-topping tune in the 90s heyday of acid house... one thing is certain – this music has sprung from two brilliant minds" ~ Big Takeover Magazine (New York)

"Sense of humour along with a talent for sharp, polished electronic pop. While the competition is quite fierce, Spray may have delivered one of the year’s finest albums" ~ The Electricity Club (UK)

"This is leftfield indie disco synthpop – with a big stick!" ~ RGM Magazine (UK)

"Smart, quirky and downright memorable" ~ The Spill Magazine (Toronto)

mail-178.jpeg

British synthpop electro duo Spray have announced they will be releasing their new album 'Ambiguous Poems About Death' on November 26 via Manchester's Analogue Trash label. Ahead of this, they present the first track from the record - 'Hammered In An Airport', which kicks off these twelve tracks by encouraging you to get up and dance.

Much beloved siblings Jenny McLaren (vocals, guitars) and Ricardo Autobahn(synths) have built an enviable following of devotees to Spray's brand of danceable and subversive indie disco pop since their debut ‘Living In Neon’ LP in 2002. They are also responsible for a smash cover of Lisa Lougheed’s 'Run With Us' (also 'The Raccoons' theme song). Their unique brand of oblique synth-pop is catchy as hell, both lyrically and musically, bringing them mainstream pop success in an alternate uni verse.

Spray's musical DNA traces back to The Cuban Boys, who recorded one of the best Peel Sessions ever and went head-to-head with Sir Cliff Richard in a Christmas Chart Battle. Their hit single 'Cognoscenti Vs Intelligentsia' (a.k.a. The Hamster Dance Song) sold a million copies, reached number 4 in the UK single charts, landed them on Top of the Pops and, in the words of John Peel, was “the most requested song I’ve had since God Save The Queen”. They topped the John Peel Festive 50 Charts twice.

Spray was the secret weapon behind the UK’s 2006 Eurovision hit 'Teenage Life', written and produced with Daz Sampson, with their treated vocals used on the track. Ricardo Autobahn and Sampson's dance version of 'Rhinestone Cowboy' (as Rikki and Daz) with the legendary Glen Campbell went Top-10. More recently Spray recorded music with anarchic BBC star Hacker T. Dog and Ricardo also plays keyboards with Welsh punk pop icons Helen Love.

Spray is again ready to entertain us with their new long-player - their second with Analogue Track, following 2019's 'Failure Is Inevitable'. Jenny and Ricardo have used the intervening time wisely; writing, terrorising social media, working with puppets, and a number of live shows, including August’s first post lockdown live affair in Liverpool.

“In early 2020 we bought a Behringer TD-3, one of the company's excellent Roland TB-303 knockoffs. We had an idea of putting out a quick acid house-style album in the summer, something short, spiky and electropunk. This did not come to fruition as like many, Spray found themselves locked down in separate locations, in their case on either side of Lancashire," says Ricardo Autobahn.

"This album evolved into something a lot more elaborate as the pandemic went on. We tried not to write songs *about* the global situation because we figured everybody would be doing that, but the outside world couldn't help seeping in,"

Undeterred by distance, recording and production duties were split between Spray Studio 1 (decaying, seen better days) and Spray Studio 2 (shiny, newly refurbished, sweet smelling) and the album took shape with the TD-3 employed in all the songs, somewhere.

Earlier this year, Spray released the single 'Félicette (Space Cat)', which is the second track on the forthcoming long-player “I bought wine that had cats in space suits on the front, as this is pretty much how I choose my wine. On reading the back of the wine bottle I discovered Félicette, who, in 1963, became the first (and only) cat who went into space and had been pretty much forgotten about in the history of space travel,” explains Jenny McLaren.

Packed full of acerbic wit with tongue firmly in cheek when needed for maximum effect, 'Ambiguous Poems About Death' will delight fans new and old from the first listen. The long-player will be released on November 26 digitally and on CD, the latter format featuring separate blue cover artwork). It can be pre-ordered at http://snd.click/poems.

Music icons David Long & Shane O'Neill release 'Albert The Painter' from their 'Moll & Zeis' LP

"As even-handed a collaboration as they come, and rooted as much in shared experiences as a continued love (and command) of music... creative synergy that time hasn't had the nerve to erase" ~ The Irish Times

"Long and O’Neill have gone from being the voice of their generation to the voice of 3 generations... true assets to their country and the music community" ~ The Spill Magazine (Toronto)

"Best of all is the New Order/Bunnymen-esque ‘Far From Home’. In another dimension, it’s a huge hit, and its two authors finally get their deserved houses overlooking the bay with the sports cars in the drive, before O’Neill inevitably overdoes it in a Paris bathtub" ~ HotPress

"A rich and mature sound.. melodies and harmonies that soar assuredly, building on solid orchestration, resonating" ~ Big Takeover Magazine (New York)

"'Strips back New Order's 'Crystal' to portray a fragile character... more New Order at sunrise than at sunset" ~ Travellers Tunes (UK)

Irish underground music icons David Long and Shane O'Neill present their new video for 'Albert The Painter', a beautiful song that evokes moods and creates feelings you might not even be aware that you had. Found on their debut album 'Moll & Zeis', this song is about a refugee who prefers to walk the roads alone, gaining inspiration for his creations.

The film footage is from the Mitchell and Kenyon 1901 collection, filmed in Ireland between May 1901 and June 1902 and colourised using DeOldify. Based on Hermann Hesse's short story 'The Painter' (1918), details from two of his paintings (Landschaft Im Tessan Aquarell (1924) and Albogasio Aquarell (1925) - are also used.

Recorded remotely during the lockdown with varied themes, their long-player includes 11 gorgeous offerings from these legacy artists. Having fronted successful 1980’s post-punk / indie rock bands Into Paradise and Blue In Heaven, respectively, together they have created some genuinely invigorating new music.

Over the past few months, the duo have built up anticipation for the release internationally by releasing two stunning EPs - 'Dreams Come' and 'Far From Home', both of which has garnered the duo excellent reviews and radio play in dozens of countries. They also recently shared videos for the track 'Moll & Zeis'and 'Earth Moves'.

"We wanted to make an album that could and should be listened to all the way through. It was an equal collaboration, Shane and myself have known each other so long that there was never a problem editing each other if something didn't fit with the song. We had no time restrictions, or release dates to go by, so we took our time with this album and thought about every aspect of it," says David Long.

David Long was the face of 1980s band Into Paradise, who released two albums and several EP’s on legendary British independent label Setanta Records and also one major - Ensign. Their most successful album was their major record label debut, the Adrian Borland-produced 'Churchtown'.

Shane O’Neill fronted Blue In Heaven, who released several singles and demos (including one produced by U2's The Edge) before signing to Island Records in 1985. Their debut album 'All The Gods Men' was produced by Martin Hannett (Joy Division, Magazine, New Order, OMD, Happy Mondays). 1986 brought the 'Explicit Material' LP, produced by Island Records head Chris Blackwell and Eric Thorngren. Their popularity grew as they did the live circuit with U2, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Damned and New Order. The band later reformed in 1990 as The Blue Angels.

Growing up in Dublin, Long and O'Neill have known each other since they were 6 or 7, when they knocked over Shane’s TV set, fighting over which channel to watch. Their first band was a trio called amuse with David on bass and vocals, Shane on guitar, and Dave Clarke (Warren Zevon, now Hothouse Flowers) on drums. After splitting and doing their separate thing, around 1996 they recorded an album as Supernaut.

Released on September 10, the 'Moll & Zeis' EP is out now, available across online platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where their two recently-released 'Dreams Come' and 'Far From Home' EPs can also be found.

Red Reign is back with a new, powerful and emotion-evoking single, "Yesterday", dropping October 8th, 2021

Red Reign is back with a new, powerful and emotion-evoking single, "Yesterday", dropping October 8th, 2021. The unique and compelling Richmond, VA. quartet is known for creating music that is hard-driving, but melodic and has a way of always staying with you.

Red Reign is Carlton "Bubba" McMichael (vocals/guitar), Sammy Lee (drums), Larry Moore (bass) and Stevie Shred (guitar). They all teamed up in the Summer of 2013, joining forces to break out of the local music scene and jump onto the national stage.

Lee says, '"Yesterday" is about a guy that finds out his wife has been lying about their relationship the whole time they were together and he is at end of his rope. Even though he still has feelings for her, he knows that staying in this relationship would eventually come to an end as he could never forgive her for what she has done. So, even though it breaks his heart, he ends the relationship and moves on, trying not to look back on, "Yesterday."

Red Reign has grown their fan base exponentially by touring and winning over fans all over the country. You can catch them with Quiet Riot in Woodford, VA. at The Groove Music Hall.

"Yesterday" was recorded at Darth Fader Studios, Richmond, VA., engineered by Grant Rutledge and produced by Super Producer/Engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at legendary Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter) in Canton, MI.

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 - Goth-pop duo, THE HAXANS - Ash Costello (New Years Day) and Matt Montgomery (Rob Zombie) - have today announced that they will be celebrating this year's spooky season in the most outrageously ghoulish fashion with an exclusive musical residency at Southern California's largest Halloween event, Knott's Scary Farm. Tickets for Knott's Scary Farm are available here.

Speaking on their spook-tacular residency, Ash Costello shares

"The Haxans was created with the idea that we wanted to become a staple on every Halloween party playlist and what better way to help make that dream become a reality than to play the biggest Halloween party of them all, knotts scary farm! We are so excited to be among our people after 2 years of isolation, we are VERY ready to get our monster mash on!"

Matt Montgomery adds

“One of the goals of this band was for us to be guest stars on a Scooby Doo episode. I feel like us playing legendary amusement park during the Halloween season is one step closer to that dream becoming a reality. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to do this. If this band had a smell it would be pumpkin spice, and the patrons of Knotts this time of year are our people! We can’t wait!”

The band will feature as part of the Carnival De Grotesque on The Calico Mine stage and will perform four 30 minute sets at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm and 11pm. THE HAXANS residency begins this Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 and will continue on select evenings through to October 31st. ABOUT THE HAXANS

A Goth-pop duo, decked out in creep kitsch high fashion, and named after a silent film from the twenties about a 15th century German guide to hunting witches, THE HAXANS sound exactly like everything those images conjure. It’s the psycho-saccharine music of a fiendish creep’s fever dream… Classic art-house cinema, b-movie horror, spooky decadence, vintage American myth, and black roses dripping with blood are all tossed in THE HAXANS cauldron.

THE HAXANS are Ashley Costello, subcultural style icon and leader of Warped Tour screamo stars New Years Day, and Matt Montgomery, better known by his alias Piggy D., bassist for over a decade with multiplatinum shock rocker Rob Zombie, guitarist with horror punks Wednesday 13, and sometime visual and musical collaborator with rock icon Alice Cooper.

THE HAXANS isn’t a side project. It’s the irrepressible, irresistible, and inevitable exorcism of the party centric Halloween costume shop kicking around inside the brains and bodies of the group’s two coconspirators.

Those who spell magic with a “k” and vampire with a “y,” who invoke ancient spirits in pursuit of a superstitiously serendipitous good time – all denizens of darkness will find sanctuary in the warm boudoir-like atmosphere of THE HAXANS, both on record and on the stage.

More news will be emerging from THE HAXANS crypt soon.

ABOUT KNOTT'S SCARY FARM

Knott’s Scary Farm is the largest and most haunting Halloween event in Southern California, with unimaginable scares and innovative thrills that can’t be found anywhere else. The fully transformed theme park features uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, sinister shows, and more than 1,000 horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park.

These haunted attractions have the ingredients of a truly terrifying nightmare. But unlike most dreams, Knott’s Scary Farm is a nightmare you can’t wake up from -- which makes it the thing to do for Halloween.

NECROFIER Shares Official Video for New Song, "Betrayal of the Queen"

Texan black metal battalion NECROFIER will be unleashing their debut full-length record, 'Prophecies of Eternal Darkness,' onto the masses on October 22 via Season of Mist Underground Activists! The band is now unveiling the official music video for their new single, "Betrayal of the Queen." The video, which was created by Dwayne Cathey, can be found below.

'Prophecies of Eternal Darkness' is available for pre-orders HERE.

The rise of American black metal is a cult movement whose vast influence and growth cannot be ignored. Houston’s Necrofier carries this torch, embodying the hallmarks of melodic black metal while embracing their Texas roots, delivering what can only be described as total Southern darkness as they bridge the divide between true Norwegian black metal and American gothic.

In the fall of 2018, fate coalesced when vocalist/guitarist Bakka Larson (VENOMOUS MAXIMUS, NIGHT COBRA) saw an open call on social media from drummer Dobber Beverly (OCEANS OF SLUMBER, INSECT WARFARE) who was looking to work on a traditional heavy metal project. Larson had already been working on black metal songs as an outlet to explore the themes of the supernatural and unknown and exploring this darkness, so he jumped on the opportunity and quickly reached out. The two immediately connected over their shared passion to create dark, old school music in which they could inject their Southern flair.

The duo eventually recruited Beverly’s OCEANS OF SLUMBER counterpart and bassist Mat Valentine and soon wrote and released a debut EP, ‘Visions in Fire,’ which channeled the spirit of late-era DISSECTION, WATAIN, CLOAK, and TRIBULATION while staying true to their own homegrown sensibilities.

Not long after the EP release, the band scored an opening slot with UADA. Needing a second guitarist to fill out the sound, Josh Bokemeyer (CHURCH OF DISGUST) was eventually tapped to fill that role, completing the band’s inception.

The four-piece later released a music video for the EP title track and went on to perform with a vast array of their black metal brethren such as 1349, Goatwhore, and Cloak, including an appearance at a coveted SXSW showcase. Now, the band is emerging from the darkness of 2021, ready to fan the unholy flames and finally release their devastating debut full-length, ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness.’

Blackened Death/Doom Offensive 1914 Reveals Second Single, “Pillars Of Fire (The Battle Of Messines)”

New Album, Where Fear and Weapons Meet,

Out October 22, 2021 via Napalm Records | Pre-Order NOW!

Ukrainian WWI experts 1914 continue to reflect the gruesome tales of World War I, its soldiers’ fate, their death, fear and feats to be never forgotten on their sinister new epos, Where Fear and Weapons Meet, out October 22, 2021 via Napalm Records.

After revealing their massive first outburst, “...And a Cross Now Marks His Place”, featuring none other than Paradise Lost icon Nick Holmes, the blackened death/doom metal frontrunners now reveal another scorching new track, entitled “Pillars of Fire (The Battle of Messines)”. The second single depicts The Battle of Messines in 1917 and starts off with an atmospheric introduction, drawing the listener deep into the album’s theme. Just within the blink of an eye, it erupts into a massive blackened death/doom outburst – freezing the blood in every vein.

Hptm. Ditmar Kumarberg comments:

"This song describes the terrible events of the Battle of the Messines Ridge that occurred from June 7-14, 1917 in Belgium, one of the most insane episodes of the Great War.

Subjects of the British crown and ANZAC dug a huge tunnels under the German positions, packed them with hundreds of tons of explosives and blew them up. In one second, in just one moment, about 10,000 people died. They were simply torn to pieces. The human brain is always subject to non-trivial approaches to kill each other. The title of the track is a direct reference to the wonderful book by Jan Passingham - 'Pillars of Fire: The Battle of the Messines Ridge', also the movie 'Beneath Hill 60', and memories of the participants of this event. Some eyewitnesses described the scene as "pillars of fire", although many also acknowledged this was indescribable."

Watch the video for “Pillars of Fire”

1914 break into their third offering with the intro “War In”, summed up by final “War Out”, and immediately build a common thread to the previous records. “War In” is the original of the most famous Serbian song of the Great War period, “Tamo Daleko”. Like World War I, the album begins in Serbia and continues on the first track from the prospective of Gavrilo Princip, who assassinated Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife on June 28, 1914 in Sarajevo and caused the outbreak of World War I.

What happens next is an intense, in-depth analysis of historical events, for example – Battle of Vimy Ridge, shameful pages of the British Empire history in the track “Coward” featuring Sasha Boole (Me And That Man), The Battle of Messines on “Pillars of Fire” or the infantry regiment, the Harlem Hellfighters, on “Don’t Tread On Me”. Authentic forces like ambient sonic war samplings transport these stories even further into the present and make Where Fear and Weapons Meet another heavily intense and deep-reaching output that will grant 1914 even higher appreciation than the five-piece is already credited with.

1914 on the album:

Where Fear and Weapons Meet continues the theme we started on The Blind Leading the Blind - with one major difference: these are the stories about hope where most of our characters are staying alive, becoming heroes, and returning back to their homes. Yes, it is still about fear, death, and senselessness of war, but the hope is the only thing the soldier holds on to. And a good portion of luck as well. Even the album cover reflects this - the man lays wounded, bleeding in the trench, reaching his hand to Death begging for relieve, and Death declines to take him. He deserves to live.

The album starts with the assassination in Sarajevo, leads you through the bloodiest moments of the Great War, and ends up with the monologue on a grave of a young man killed in his first battle. This time we did have even more hard digging into the historical background while making the tracks. We are not singing the songs, we are telling the stories!”

The virtuosos of OBSCURA strike again with a third single, taken from the upcoming album A Valediction, which is set to be released on November 19th through Nuclear Blast Records.

This time they reveal the probably most brutal and darkest track from the album - “Devoured Usurper”.

Band leader Steffen Kummerer comments: “Merciless, moldered and putrid alike – “Devoured Usurper” showcases a crude abrasive side to shake some bodies at live shows in the near future. With utter brutality, the song depaints an inevitable reckoning and underlines the death metal roots of OBSCURA.”

And once again the band worked with Mirko Witzki on the video, who also produced “Solaris”, “A Valediction” and previous videos for OBSCURA.

Steffen reveals: “We recorded the music video at famous Stress Studio in Graz, Austria, where also drums for the new album have been tracked. We prepare our live shows and assemble parts of our production in this unique environment before we embark on upcoming tours."

Update on Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest

mail-60.png

We have an update on Richie – see below in Richie’s own words….

Maniacs…

I’ve always been grateful for the opportunities I’ve been presented with. I’ve always considered myself THE most fortunate man ever - to be able to play my favourite music - with my favourite band - to my favourite people around the world…

Today just being able to type this to you all is the biggest gift of all…

As I watch footage from the Louder Than Life Festival in Kentucky, I can see in my face the confusion and anguish I was feeling whilst playing ‘Painkiller’ as my aorta ruptured and started to spill blood into my chest cavity….

I was having what my doctor called an aortic aneurysm and complete aortic dissection.

From what I’ve been told by my surgeon, people with this don’t usually make it to the hospital alive…..

I was taken to nearby Rudd Heart & Lung Center and quickly went into what turned out to be a 10 ½ hour emergency open heart surgery.

Five parts of my chest were replaced with mechanical components…..I’m literally made of metal now….

It could have all ended so differently – we only had an hours set that night due to Metallica’s performance after us – and it does cross my mind if it was a full set, would I have played until total collapse…? If it hadn’t happened in such a high adrenaline situation would my body have been able to keep going long enough to reach the hospital…?

The amazing Heart & Lung Center was 4 miles away from the gig site – if it had been further away……..

We can always drive ourselves crazy with these things but I’m still alive thankfully. Whatever the circumstances, when watching that footage, the truth is, knowing what I know now, I see a dying man…..

I’ve been moved to tears and humbled by friends, family, my fantastic band, crew and management and also you guys sending me videos and messages of love and support during the last week – I thank you all so much and although I have a recovery road ahead of me, as soon as I’m able to get up and running again, you’ll be the first to know and we’ll get back out there delivering the goods for you all….!

One last thing maniacs, this came totally out of the blue for me – no history of a bad heart, no clogged arteries etc…my point is I don’t even have high cholesterol and this could’ve been the end for me. If you can get yourselves checked – do it for me please……

Lots of love and see you down the front again soon….

Richie…

This is from our strong falcon - he will be flying high again just as soon as he is able….

A.D.2020 Release Animated Video for Single “Digital Overload” from their “Lockdown Diaries” Album

Continuing with the animated versions of themselves first introduced in their August 2021 video for “Why Can’t We Be Friends?,” “Digital Overload” is a full length animated video featuring the musicians of A.D.2020 reacting to the influence of technology in all of our lives. “The song allows us to poke fun at ourselves and also our addictions to technology that we are all guilty of abusing”says Todd Thanhauser.

He continues, “The song was written last year during the pandemic and was inspired by an interaction I had with a phone app and a refrigerator and it got me thinking that maybe there is something else I should be doing besides waiting on text messages from my refrigerator to tell me the milk is spoiled? Maybe we all need to take time to catch our breath and unwind?”

Produced by Dan Reed and AD2020.
Recorded during the fall of 2020 in Prague, Czech Republic and New Jersey, Pennsylvania USA.
Mixing by Ron DiSilvestro of RDS Music and Media

In addition, A.D.2020 released a new video on Sunday August 1, 2021, for their cover of the song “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” by the band WAR. The track is also featured on their album Lockdown Diaries.

The video features the members of A.D.2020 playing the track in the studio and their home studios. The track is fresh and fun with each member taking a swing at lead vocals as well.

Recorded on two continents during the pandemic A.D.2020 is a collective studio project featuring in order of appearance in the video.

“We discussed doing a remake of this song early in the conversations that lead to the A.D.2020 project. I think the video is great because it shows us all during the lockdown playing and having fun and there are also some moments of humor and fantasy. It’s also a bit of a mantra we all live by “ Why Can’t We (All Just) Be Friends? “ the world would be a better place if we could all be friends.
Our version of the song is the only song I can think of that has 6 lead vocal parts which also makes it a really unique cover. We hope the guys in WAR like the cover of their great song" says Todd Thanhauser.

mail-175.jpeg

From its inception, WITHERED has been an outlier, a perplexing charge of extremity which the metal scene has never been able to put its finger on.

“We want to compound new elements into every album,” posits guitarist/vocalist Mike Thompson, “and we’re definitely a band for metal nerds. Our audience seems to be the old-schoolers who are absorbed by this stuff every day and jaded folks of a certain age. Industry types and peers tend to get it, but that’s about it.”

Thompson’s self deprecating assessment of his creative output might be part gentlemanly humility talking or a harshly realistic take on WITHERED’s cult status, or somewhere in between, but with an impressive body of work fanned out over the course of 18 years and five albums which have weathered as many trends, the Atlanta quartet continues to confound and refuses to compromise. New album, Verloren is the band’s most daring and iconoclastic work yet, one that spits in the eye of complacency and exists as a contrarian masterstroke.

Originally formed by Thompson and ex-guitarist/vocalist Chris Freeman in 2003 following a spell in local grind institution Social Infestation (alongside Mastodon’s Troy Sanders), WITHERED’s initial goal was to re-write black, doom and death metal modes and mores. To that end, the band has achieved that goal as their sound and aesthetic refuses to clearly state which subgenre they call home. Over the course of its history, WITHERED has generated more questions than answers about who they are and what they do. They’ve toured with the varied likes of Mastodon, High on Fire, Dismember, Grave, Vital Remains, Possessed, Watain, Mayhem, 1349, Krallice, Skeletonwitch and Danzig. Their live show provides an air of never-know-what-you’re-gonna-get mystery. See them on one occasion and it’s a DIY kick in the gut with stripped down, rehearsal room bareness appropriately complementing the lunacy. The next time they get in the van they’ll do so accompanied by rigged up columns of light cloaking the stage in bloody reds and searing whites. And with Verloren, the band’s forthcoming fifth album, Thompson and his band mates – drummer Beau Brandon, bassist Rafay Nabeel and fellow guitarist/vocalist Dan Caycedo – continue to nudge both thematic and sonic goalposts by providing relatable food for thought while retaining the adversarial fire that has powered the engine since the start.

“There’s a philosophical introspective approach to the subject matter that informs our writing style. We’re trying to create an atmosphere that complements the themes and that’s something we’re trying to circle back around to on Verloren.”

WITHERED’s first album, 2005’s Memento Mori, generally speaking, tackled the subject of mortality and the grieving process that follows significant loss, trauma and tragedy. Album number two, 2008’s Folie Circulaire was, as Thompson describes, “more existentialist, nihilistic and Nietzsche-ian” while 2010’s Dualities was an exploration of Jungian psychology and the shadow self. As alluded to in the title, 2016’s Grief Relic started into the U-turn back towards the exploration of the role and impact of grief as the men of WITHERED themselves entered that stage of life in which older family members, friends and childhood heroes were passing away, expectedly and otherwise. Five years on, Verloren rounds out the turn with a sinister sound and an area of study more akin to a deep therapy/counseling session instead of the usual gore and lore that often emboldens extreme music.

“Rafay wanted to use the theme of ‘missing’,” explains Thompson, “which was broad and abstract, so I dialed it down to be more about this outlook I’ve developed over the years about how each of us have a ‘Love Well.’ Every bit of love you get from your parents, your upbringing and your learning how to receive and experience love in relationships and through experiences contributes to the well. Your traumas counterbalance that and take away from it, especially when foundational core elements take a hit, like the untimely loss of a parent. That’s one of life’s unique puzzle pieces and when that piece is removed it’s never going to be replaced.

“We’re equipped with a certain capacity – our wells are filled to a certain level – and when you start getting smacked with traumas, whatever you have in that well - your defense mechanisms - can get worn down pretty quickly, especially for someone who has never really known love because of a broken home, difficult relationships or whatever. Each one of us in WITHERED carry unique traumas that we’ve focused this new record on. For me, most of my significant losses are from older wounds that I’ve dealt with through WITHERED from the very beginning, but with this being the first album with Dan and Rafay, it’s like a new exercise for them to really focus on the things they’ve been carrying around.”

Verloren translates to “missing” from German and relates not just to the friends, family and pieces of the member’s lives and hearts that have, and will go, missing as the time ticks on unfettered, but also, in the face of the global pandemic, just how much the activity of being in a band has been missed by everyone who took the write/record/tour cycle for granted. Verloren demonstrates a topical uniqueness; one that discusses the stuff everyone from the steeliest of black metal cape wearers to the gore-obsessed death metal crushers and everyone playing in a band or not has had to - or will have to - confront at some point. By leveling the elitist playing field so often found in extreme metal underground attitudes, Verloren offers a more holistic experience, elevating WITHERED by being unafraid to discuss topics that fly in the face of what most would connect to the sounds they make.

“About two years before I started WITHERED,” Thompson recalls, “I went through a series of traumas where I was forced to take stock of and define my foundational ‘puzzle pieces’ that could be taken away and what the trauma and grief is going to look like when I lose close family and/or friends I truly care about. Ironically, one I didn’t face until recently was WITHERED. No one ever thought that not being able to play shows or tour because of a pandemic was even feasible. I processed the idea of losing WITHERED and playing music and touring and everything else around the time of Grief Relic when two guys quit the band and I lost a lot of steam and inspiration. Luckily, Beau was there to kick my ass and shake me out of it. When it comes to this album, there was an initial suffering of anxiety because of the uncertainty in the world and the fear of losing this album because we put a lot into it, are super proud of it and it is the best WITHERED album yet. It’s important for my inspiration and motivation to go forward. It takes so much effort for us to create a record, the thought of it for it to all be for naught or potentially be wasted just destroys me.

“Surprisingly, we haven’t had a lot of push back on these themes, though I would love to take on that conflict!” he laughs. “For most people, metal is purely aesthetic, a grandstanding ‘f-you!’ to society and an adolescent rebellion kind of thing. But at the same time, we do get positive feedback from the people who have looked a bit deeper and done some research. We just want to be honest. We used to make the joke when we go out on tour, especially in the early days when deathcore was all the rage and we’d be on these weird package bills, that ‘Hey, we’re WITHERED and we’re here to bum you out.’ We’re not a party band or a shock band so you don’t get the fun aspect from us when going to a show. I’ve always been frustrated that we’ve never been able to communicate our super-realism and the different perspectives of life. If I want to sing about how much gratitude I have for my mother in a roundabout way, then whatever, we’ll do it!”

As WITHERED enters its third decade, they’ve drawn a more insular and conclusive line in the sand. The band has forged further forward with the process of eschewing typicality, including not utilizing any of the usual producer suspects to help sculpt Verloren. Instead, they flew the flag of independence by again going down the route of self-production with Thompson himself taking the bull by its horns.

“We get a little bit more deliberate every time around and starting with Grief Relic we decided not to hire anyone to help produce and filter it through a particular lens. We started self-producing and I kind of took the reins on that last time and more so this time and also when it came to selecting who was going to engineer [Raheen Amlani at Orange Peel Recordings], then mix [Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios] and master it [Jarrett Pritchard]. The trick is to find someone who loves Times of Grace as much as they love Clandestine and His Hero is Gone, Napalm Death and all the way out to later Enslaved and can balance all those things. If it’s truly honest and truly communicating the intention of a song, then it’ll be powerful, heavy and generate emotion.”

Verloren also revisits WITHERED’s traditional methodological step of sitting down and looking at the present state of metal before consciously lashing out against what’s taking up most of the broader public’s attention.

“We’re constantly looking for something new to do. We love genre bending and putting D-beats next to funereal riffs next to black metal blasts and heavy doom riffs and figuring out how to make it all work and make sense with whatever vibe we’re trying to nail down. For this one, I wanted to lean back into the funereal doom world. I got burnt out when doom – especially southern doom, being a southern band - was the word of the day around the time of our first two records. We basically ran in the other direction and got away from doing any full-on doom parts for a while. I wanted to come back around to that, so we went back to bigger stuff like My Dying Bride for the couple of eight minute epics on the album [album opener “By Tooth in Tongue” and closer “From Ashen Shores”]. Also, for the first time in my life and against my better judgment, I decided to write clean vocals and I’m singing on two songs. They’re kind of buried in the mix a little bit because I’m still self-conscious about them, but they were the only things that made sense for the parts we wrote. I tried to fight it, but nothing extreme was accomplishing the goal. On top of that, we go the other way where three of the songs have some super crusty and grind elements. Part of why I asked Dan to join the band was because I knew he would get the sludgy, crusty side of things and help me cultivate that better in WITHERED. On the album, ‘The Predation,’ ‘Dissolve’ and ‘Casting in Wait’ are his. Those would be the twists on this album because we’re always trying to write what we think is missing and what we want to hear in heavy music after sitting down and looking at the landscape of what’s out there.”

And despite being deliberate oppositional in the subject matter they choose to explore and express, how much of their hearts and souls they choose to strip bare for fickle crowds and grind against whatever current musical grain the rest are cruising along, the determination, seriousness and importance of WITHERED in each member’s lives hasn’t ebbed. In fact, it’s only been magnified with time and circumstance. Having been forced into a year off from normal band life has made it clear how vital WITHERED is for everything from creative expression, social networking, wanderlust, overall personal sanity and moving forward.

“Personally, I’m very, very fortunate with regards to my family and others being supportive and taking what I do seriously. Looking back, I could be really selfish and headstrong about music. My family got so used to it that they would volunteer to schedule dinners and family events around rehearsals and practice because they were able to glean how important this was to me and how seriously I took it. Even moving out into the real world with the professional realm of things and the jobs that we have had in order to keep this going, I’d say it’s taken more seriously now than ever. We’re constantly challenging ourselves to progress and carve our own path. WITHERED is a permanent part of my life, it’s what I expect to be there. I’ve built so much on it and I’ve somehow been able to weave it into my life to where it’s a defining part of me as well. This isn’t rock star fantasy camp, although the other weekend I was bored, missing travelling and sitting around so I took the band van out and just drove out for three hours, turned around and came home!”

Alternative / synth pop artist JATA releases 'Crazy Game Of Phobias' EP

"Music that remains timeless and in vogue with the current market. A maestro of synth-pop and electronica... takes you to a place of reflection and euphoric celebration" ~ The Manc Review

"Uber-catchy keyboard intro... a very clever song, with strong hooks and songwriting schematic. Particularly the refrain is noteworthy and JATA's voice and vocal stylings are strong and convincing" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Flawlessly delivered with an important message in hand... His is a slick sound, put to an enticing backbed of synth grooves and an uplifting orchestral soundscape" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

Dark pop artist JATA (aka Gaetano Russo) has released his debut 'Crazy Game of Phobias' EP via Italian indie label Seahorse Recordings.

With a sound influenced by Depeche Mode, Planet Funk, Almamegretta, Blonde Redhead, Arcade Fire, Editors, Interpol and Block Party, JATA essentially reinvented his sound In the process of writing and recording this EP, exploring the use of electronics and early sampling technique, in a mix of pop catchy groove and harmonies.

Earlier, he presented the title track 'Crazy Game of Phobias' and a video that most people will identify with. With a particular Depeche Mode-flavor, this is a statement on the phobia about social contact that has developed throughout the current pandemic, lockdowns and social distancing rules.

JATA explores one of the most negative effects generated by the pandemic - the phobia people hav developed about social contact, stemming from the distancing rules and lockdowns, not to mention constant media hype. His lyrics emphasize the need to reclaim our greatest and most significant human trait - the need for socializing and contact.

Taking us on a captivating electronic journey between the 80s and the present day, 'Crazy Game of Phobias' is a sonic springboard, from which you can explore one or more destinations of positive rediscovery, resilience, personal and collective rebirth - inherent human traits that can be drawn to the surface through a path of sensation and atmosphere.

"The EP's leitmotif starts with the current pandemic and the changes this new era has brought to the world. With its huge global impact, this crisis has encouraged me to think about how unstable and unpredictable our life is and how important it is to have the right approach to change," says Gaetano Russo.

The concepts of resilience, future vision and goals, personal growth and discovering loved ones are issues presented from my personal point of view. As a professional coach and NLP professional practitioner, I take the view towards developing the human potential inside each of us, breaking a 3-year writer's block during which I had zero inspiration to write new songs."

Released on October 5, the full 'Crazy Game of Phobias' EP is out now and is available across digital platforms, including Amazon Music and Spotify.

London synthpop artist RODNEY CROMWELL (Saloon, Arthur & Martha) presents 'Memory Box' single

"Rodney Cromwell's music belongs to the future" ~ NME

"Yanking the mundane into the sublime. Its sweeping synths transverse a sonic landscape bridging an ancient sentiment and an almost folk instrumentation with pure hertz tone glory" ~ POST-PUNK.COM

“His new lo-fi disco laments are joyfully simple and painfully funny” ~ HUFFINGTON POST

"Makes a delightful lo-fi synthpop racket with a load of old gear and a deep appreciation of classic outfits" ~ ELECTRONIC SOUND

“A reminder of good pop tunes from a magical era” ~ LOUDER THAN WAR

Rodney Cromwell is the nom de plume of Adam Cresswell, founding member of 1990s-2000s indie-folktronica band Saloon (who had four entries in John Peel’s Festive 50, recorded three Peel Sessions and had top 10 album of the year in The Sunday Times) and one half of electronic two-piece Arthur & Martha (praised by the likes of NME, The Guardian and Artrocker).

With minimal percussion, Rodney Cromwell's lyrics float over a bed of vintage synthesizers and effected guitar. Shunning a clean '80s synth sound, the song is almost psychedelic in outlook, reminiscent of the minimal synth of acts such as Broadcast, Pram or Silver Apples. The video, an atmospheric montage of heavily effected and distorted shots of rural Britain, was inspired by film auteurs such as Stan Brakhage and Chris Marker.

Writing and recording in his home studio in Catford, South London, Cromwell employs an old-school approach using predominantly vintage hardware. Mixed and co-produced by Richard Bennett at Acme Hall Studios (New York) and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Goldfrapp, Paul Weller, Pixies, The Alarm), Martin J Langthorne, who also designed the album artwork, contributes guitar.

"It was one of the first songs written for the new album. At the time I was still disorientated from illness. I turned on the TV and there was Boris Johnson’s lackey, Dominic Cummings, spinning some yarn. In my post-fever state he came across like Wormtongue from Tolkein, talking about riverbanks, woods and castles while literally sitting in a perfumed rose garden like in Alice in Wonderland. I wouldn’t say that influenced me directly, but certainly my own state of brain-fog sent my writing off in a more heady and fantastical direction," explains Adam Cromwell.

"I wanted the song to have the feel of a marching clockwork toy, so the beat is really simple and metronomic with the synths doing the talking by enveloping the song."

This single is the title track of the forthcoming ‘Memory Box' album, A mixture of electronic hauntological excursions, dreampop and European coldwave that is scheduled for release in early 2022. Using analogue synths, drum machines with parts played almost entirely live (with minimal computer sequencing) and vocals recorded without autotune, this record conjures up an organic, albeit dream-like, world that is inspired as much by Alice in Wonderland, Franz Kafka and Anna Kavan as it is by its sonic influences such as Kraftwerk, The Cure and Stereolab. The sonic pallet of 'Memory Box' is both reassuringly familiar and completely distinctive.

Rodney Cromwell's debut LP 'Age of Anxiety' (2015) and 'Rodney's English Disco' EP (2018) have garnered Rodney Cromwell features in Electronic Sound Magazine, NME, Huffington Post, Paste, Record Collector, BBC6 Music and national RNE3 in Spain, for whom he also recorded a live session. The debut album featured in scores of Best of Lists including Electronic Sound Magazine and he was named 'Most Promising New Act' by The Electricity Club. He has appeared on compilations alongside Cavern of Anti-Matter, John Foxx, Devo, OMD, Katy Perry and other notable artists.

Rodney will be playing a handful of live dates to support the album's release. His debut festival appearance at Indietracks 2015, described as 'a spiritual experience", led to further festival appearances in the UK and in Spain, in addition to supporting artists such as Pram, Marsheaux, Death & Vanilla, Rowetta and Steve Davis. In 2020, he also performed as part of Damo Suzuki's backing band.

As of October 27, 'Memory Box' will be available digitally everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where his earlier releases can also be found. On October 28, London's Hope & Anchor will host his Single Launch Party with appearances by Mood Taeg and Still Forever.

German Chart-Toppers KISSIN’ DYNAMITE Release Second Single “What Goes Up” + New Official Music Video!

KISSIN’ DYNAMITE Releases Second Single “What Goes Up” + New Official Music Video

Watch/Listen below!

New Album, Not The End Of The Road, to be Released on January 21, 2022 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order NOW!

After revealing their enormous first single and new album title track, “Not The End Of The Road”, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE set the game ablaze again with their igniting new single, “What Goes Up”!

The German chart-toppers (#7 on the GER album charts) deliver with “What Goes Up”–another explosive banger filled with dangerous guitar attacks and anthemic hooks that will surely amaze any heavy metal fan out there. Together with the new single, KISSIN' DYNAMITE end the summer on a sizzling high note with their jaw-dropping, top-quality music video recorded in Mallorca!

KISSIN’ DYNAMITE on “What Goes Up”:

“'What Goes Up' is the incarnation of our maxim: Bring Back Stadium Rock! A tasty guitar riff introduces into the song, framed by thundering 2-4 drums. You immediately feel the need to put your leather jacket on, go out with your friends and simply have a good time. The sexy shuffle rhythm leads to a catchy chorus that makes you wanna sing along. Lyrically, the tune is about a protagonist who has reached everything but in the end is still unsatisfied. We wanted to deliver all this in a cinematic broadcast video showing off nearly every thinkable rock cliche, just because we can! So jump into this cozy, long forgotten world of stadium rock 'cause 'What Goes Up' must come down!”

Founded in 2007, German heavy metal formation KISSIN’ DYNAMITE have made more than just a name for themselves in the scene: With six studio albums and various chart entries (#7 on the GER album charts with their full-length Ecstasy in 2018), the band established their trademark style - characterized by modern sound, massive anthems and catchy hooks paired with an 80s stadium rock attitude and eccentric look. Now, the five piece is ready to release their Napalm Records debut, Not The End Of The Road, and usher in heavy metal in 2022!

The new studio album was produced, recorded and mixed by vocalist Hannes Braun (Südland Music) himself, who has also worked with bands like Santiano, The Kelly Familyand Beyond The Black. Mastering was completed by Grammy Award winning producer Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, known for his work with bands like Volbeat and many more.

Ande Braun on the new album:

"Not The End Of The Road is an album which accurately describes our experiences as a band since Ecstasy 2018. First and foremost, we highlight with songs like ‘Not The End Of The Road’, ‘What Goes Up’, ‘Yoko Ono’ and ‘Only The Dead’: We're up for it, we're pulling together and we want to reach the rock Olympus! Titles like ‘Coming Home’, ‘Gone For Good’ and ‘Scars’, on the other hand, deal with real feelings like loneliness, homesickness and sadness, which are also part of life."

Hannes Braun adds:

"With Ecstasy we already didn't make any compromises and just wanted to compose music that speaks from us. Not The End Of The Road seamlessly picks up exactly here."

Pre-Order Your Copy of Not The End Of The Road NOW!

With Not The End Of The Road, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE set another milestone in their successful discography: In guitar-driven power metal fashion, the tune of the intro and title track “Not The End Of The Road” prepares the listener for a thrilling road trip and new anthems straight from the heart of the KISSIN’ DYNAMITE universe. Crusher “What Goes Up” takes its listener into the truly spectacular soundscapes that make stadiums shake and convinces with Aerosmith-like guitar attacks and an anthemic hook. But KISSIN’ DYNAMITEare also not afraid to show their mellower side, as heard on delightfully tranquil tracks like “Good Life” and “Gone For Good” - not only showcasing the almost calm touches pervading the melodies, but also presenting the softer side of Braun’s vocal repertoire. While tracks like “No One Dies A Virgin” and “Yoko Ono” symbolize catchy party hymns, standouts “Coming Home” and “Defeat It” underline their origins of stadium rock without being pigeonholed. “Voodoo Spell” manifests the variety of the band and their different influences - starting with strong dark rock elements, the song becomes an opus that easily competes with the biggest stadium giants. The album’s closer, “Scars”, proves once again that KISSIN’ DYNAMITE can reach the depths and showcase lyrical vulnerability - an impressive ending that screams to be played live.

Not The End Of The Road will be available in the following formats:
