Kansas City, MO singer / songwriter IVORY BLUE has released the official music video for their newest single, "Family Tables." Directed by Mikal Shapiro, "Family Tables" showcases the enigmatice chansonnier's inimitable vocal style and lyrical strength alongside minimal but moving visuals, thus invoking a deeply emotional as well as an addictively repeatable listening experience.

IVORY BLUE lived a nomadic existence until settling in Kansas City MO and becoming part of the local musical community. After winning a nationwide talent contest in 2017 Ivory Blue started having success with some national and international radio play which continues today.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Ivory began refining their performance style, using digital looping pedals to stack harmonies and guitar parts live on stage, giving their solo shows the feel of a full band. In 2011, Ivory settled in Kansas City, MO and quickly began attracting an intense regional following for their strong vocals and incisive, deeply personal lyrics.

By 2013, IVORY BLUE was playing regularly in and around Kansas City and the first EP 'Ready Get Set' was released. in 2015. While the EP helped spread the word and got much attention from regional radio and TV stations, a big break would come in 2017.

Ivory entered NeXt2Rock, a nationwide talent search with over 1800 artists/bands who applied to find fresh and promising rock artists.

The top 5 national bands battled it off for the win in Los Angeles CA at the legendary Viper Room, with judges Scott Borchetta (BMLG), John Varvatos (fashion designer), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols Guitarist and Host of “Jonesy’s Jukebox”), Desmond Child (Musician, producer), Chris Lord-Alge (producer), Ivory Blue won over the judges and became the grand prize winner! Ivory won the contest and a one-year record deal with BMLG who re-released the song Ready Get Set from the 2015 EP. Ivory’s 2018 re-release of 'Ready Get Set' undauntedly received National and International airplay within weeks.

In February 2020 and after studying the craft of recording and self-producing, this amazing singer-songwriter with soaring vocals, passionate love for everyone struggling through life, released ‘Elite Dreamland’. There are no words to describe the incredible artistry behind this song. a single that hits your heart about understanding how it feels to be misunderstood in a world of people that seem to know what they are doing.

IVORY BLUE produces all the tracks with the exception of Drums and Bass. Ivory is currently working with Lester Estelle (Drummer for Kelly Clarkson), Craig Kew (Bass) KC, Kurt Festge (Mastering | Citizen Kane & Vilent Femmes) NC. and Nick Poortman (LA based Los Angeles based Producer, Engineer, Mixer, and Songwriter) Nick has worked alongside producers including Justin Gray, Gil Norton, Big Tank, and Greg Haver on sessions throughout the USA, UK, Europe, and New Zealand.

On August 18th 2021 Ivory Blue signed a publishing deal with Sound Ballistics Music & Publishing out of Atlanta GA.

Ivory Blue released their music video for “FAMILY TABLES’ on August 21st, 2021 and will release the single on Sept 7th. They are currently finishing the first full length CD/Album Compound Love to be released in 2021 as well as the Red Light EP for 2022.

Who knows what is next for IVORY BLUE, but so far every step has been accounted for to reach that vision that continues to push them to success.

From Las Vegas to the world. Velvet Chains was formed in the well-known American city in 2018 by experienced musicians from the American circuit.

The musical proposal bets on contagious rock sounds, a solid rhythmic section, and catchy guitar and voice melodies, the kind that stick in your head.

The music of the quartet is a mixture of musical styles and personalities through the cultural exchange: both Jerry Quinlan (voice and guitar) and Noelle Schertzer (drums) are American, Laurent Cassiano (guitar) is Brazilian and bassist Nils Goldschmidt, leader of the project, is Chilean.

Guided by what was best done in the grunge and hard rock of the 90s and 00s, the music of Velvet Chains has as reference groups such as Guns N 'Roses, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam, among many others from different Styles, whose elements are condensed to create a unique and characteristic sound.

The mix of styles and nationalities have always had an excellent record in the history of global music; as in The Strokes, Ill Niño, or even Slayer, who, including two Latinos in their initial line-up, managed to leave a mark in metal history.

All the artistic wealth of this mix of origins and influences will be condensed and presented to the public on September 24, when the group releases their debut album, Icarus.

To celebrate this important milestone in her career, Velvet Chains will feature guest artist contributions to some of her songs. For example, guitarist Richard Fortus (Guns N 'Roses) recorded the guitars on the single "Tattooed."

The lyrical content along with the musical quality is another important factor for Velvet Chains: "Our goal was to write songs with important lyrics while covering different genres within Rock from the 90s to the 00s. You will find a bit of heavy rock, a bit of grunge, a bit of alternative rock, and much more on this album ”, explains Nils, founder of the band.

The first single "Tattooed" was released on July 30th. “He talks about how to deal with extremes in relationships and mask the pain that comes from that,” they explain. The song is accompanied by an impressive music video, produced and directed by renowned music video director Dean Karr (Marylin Manson, Iron Maiden, Velvet Revolver, etc.), who conceived the entire narrative of the video, which brings together very intense scenes, which are mixed with the impressive sound of Velvet Chains.

The second single released today on all digital platforms is called “Strangelove”, written from a collaboration between Nils and Drew: “It's about a unique attraction/love that would never work because it borders on obsession. It will probably have a very positive radio reception, as it has a super catchy beat, and it has even become one of our favorite songs to play live,” concludes Nils.

Icarus
Velvet Chains' debut album Icarus was co-written with multiplatinum songwriter Drew Lawrence. Recordings took place in early 2021 at different studios: drums were recorded at The Hideout and bass was recorded at The Tone Factory, both in Las Vegas, while guitars and vocals were recorded at The Killroom in Seattle. Sound engineering work was carried out by Greg Williamson, while Tristan Hardin did the mixing and mastering.

After the release of "Emerald Seas" in February of 2020, the band had multiple amazing support slots lined up to promote the record on the road. They were geared up and in fighting form, ready to bring their music to the masses and show the world what they are all about. Plans were quickly changed weeks after the album' release due to the coronavirus pandemic though and soon it became obvious that touring would be ground to a halt for a while. So, the band took the opportunity to commence work on their follow-up album, which wound up becoming the mammoth 70+ minute masterpiece that is "Gods Of Debauchery". This album, epic in scope and reach, shows progression well beyond their years.

Permafrost – new single ‘Restore Us’ available 3rd September 2021 on Fear of Music

We’ve become numb to endless conflicts and mountebanks posing as leaders. A figurative plague has divided us for most of the modern era. It took a literal one to bring us together, albeit in the darkest of ways.

One would be forgiven for feeling a little nostalgic for better times about now, and we’re long overdue for a hard reset. With “Restore Us,” Permafrost has just released what could be the theme song for the post-lockdown era.

Permafrost was formed in 1982, in Molde, Norway by Frode Heggdal Larsen and Kåre Steinsbu, during the first post punk era, taking their name from a Magazine track. They released
the Godtment EP a year later. Robert Heggdal, Trond Tornes and eventually Daryl Bamonte, who had worked with bands like Depeche Mode, and The Cure, rounded out the group. In 2019 they released the Permafrost EP to high praise. The well-received “Femme Fatale” and “Closed Eyes” singles were released earlier this year, spending several weeks at the top of many indie charts, including the Indie Disko Top 40.

As industry veterans, their long arc provides some crucial perspective as we enter uncharted waters. In fact, ideas for the song have been germinating for three years, with it ultimately coming into focus over the past year. Both foreboding and optimistic, “Restore Us” is less the battle hymn that is usually the stock in trade of the post punks, and more of a face-the-facts statement that it's time.

The accompanying video’s footage was shot in 1987, by keyboardist Daryl Bamonte, on Depeche Mode’s Music For The Masses tour, who was working with the band. It shows the energy and enthusiasm of a group on the ascent, in a country concurrently starting its slow decline into the new consumerism era, reaching its logical conclusion when a failed salesman became president three decades later. A man forged in that epoch, with a commitment to a laissez faire modus operandi, and putting profits over people, became the glaring symbol of our ultimate undoing.

The film takes us back to a time when bands were embracing a “get in the van” lifestyle, while naively passing through the intestinal tract of the beast, getting their kicks on Route 666, during the unraveling of an American Dream that probably never was. As the song concludes, shifting from its dark minor key to one more sanguine, we also see oddly foreboding, shaky footage of an airliner.

The emergence from dark times presents opportunities if we take them. Restoration doesn’t have to mean going back to the time portrayed in the video. Were the “good times” really that good, or were we being fooled all along, ignorantly living in our bubbles? As we get back on the road perhaps we should reconsider the route this time around. The recent reminder that the world is indeed very small and connected can also be an instruction to restore our humanity.

Sydney Sherwood is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter from New Jersey. Sydney began singing and playing guitar as a way to express her emotions after her brother was diagnosed with cancer.

Since her brother's diagnosis, being a childhood cancer advocate has become a big part of Sydney's life. She has performed and spoken at many childhood cancer events over the past twelve years and continues to be a voice for all children with cancer, as well as their siblings.

Sydney began writing her own music when she was 13, and on March 3, 2019, she released her first EP, Beauty from Ashes. Her release show was held at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Over the course of the pandemic, Sydney has been writing and recording her new album, Headspace, which will be released February 27, 2021.

LUCIFER – Release New Single and Video For “Bring Me His Head! Pre-Order Starts Today!

LUCIFER are evidently one of the hardest working bands in rock right now. After turning heads with the release of their iconic album cover artwork last week, the group now has the next ace up their sleeves.

Today we are thrilled to share their brand new single and video for “Bring Me His Head”, the second single of their new studio album “LUCIFER IV”, which will be released on October 29th this year!

For this video, singer Johanna had the idea to pay tribute to Brian De Palma's 1976 horror classic "Carrie".

She says: "'Carrie' is one of my favorite movies. Being an outsider myself my entire life, I've always identified with her. We are very excited that this time we got to work with director Amir Chamdin and photographer Crille Forsberg on our videos. Their body of work is quite breathtaking, if you look it up, so it was a real honor. The video to 'Bring Me His Head' is only one part of the story but we can't give anything more away at this point."

VELVETS Release New Single "Light of the Night" - Self-Titled Debut Album Out September 24th!

Finnish Rock n' Roll duo VELVETS have released ”Light of the Night”, the final single from their upcoming debut album. "Light of the Night” offers electrifying classic rock riffage combined with smooth vocal performances. Sami, the lead singer of Velvets, comments:

"Light of the Night is the third and final single from our upcoming debut album. It’s one of our most rocking and rolling tracks, and we wanted to share this side of the band with our fans before the album arrives. It has its nods towards Thin Lizzy and Kiss, with some early heavy metal on the vocals. The song tells a story of a traveling man making his way back home through the rough trails and rocky roads.”

VELVETS Bio:

VELVETS are an endless summer night dipped in a bucket of rock, blues, schlager and funk with a cool breeze coming at you from the south. All set in a timeless space, where the past, present, and future are fused into one. The songs will take you on a journey of love and longing, speeding on the highway and taking off to a place beyond the stars.

 Velvets was born in January 2021, when the duo Sami and Sakke were desperately in need of creating new music. With too much time on their hands after finishing the second Rokets album, the Finnish band where the two first met each other as members. The first idea for Velvets was to write love songs and stick to them, kicking things off by listening to a lot of Moon Martin. 

 The duo has previously toured Finland and the Baltic countries extensively with Rokets since August 2017, well known in Finland for their sweaty, energetic live shows. The band opened for Kaleidobolt in Helsinki for their album release party of their latest album "Bitter" and were the closing act of the first day of the Finnish festival Kill Sörnäinen in Helsinki. With two EP's titled "Rokets" and "Speed & Sound" and the debut album "Fast Times", released on digital and vinyl format in 2020/2021 under the belt the duo decided that it was time for a project of their own - Velvets. Besides Velvets and Rokets, Sakke has played in the hardcore band Locked Up and the country band Rusty Triggers. Sami shares the hardcore background, starting his musical career as the singer of heavy metal band United Seafood.

 The band sounds like a session where Moon Martin, Hurriganes, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, and The Allman Brothers started experimenting on a new kind of sound that brought all the pieces together from the different styles of the sweet, sweet music we call rock n roll. This is not your average rough and tough, rowdy and raunchy boy band, with the testosterone levels going through the roof. This is Velvets; beautiful, meaningful songs with melodies born of warm memories and moments we’ve shared with someone we hold dear.

"After spending most of 2020 writing hunkered down in our basement studio, we knew we needed a change of scene. Grey Skies was born out of a cross country road trip out west collaborating with writer/producer Nick Furlong (Papa Roach, Avicii, 5SOS, All Time Low). We built the track over sampled synthesizers with intrusive rock guitars and anthemic vocals to create what we think is very uniquely “Betcha”. The song and music video drops the day before our first headlining tour in over a year and a half. It is our first independent release after parting ways from Atlantic records back in February" says the band.

We had a hard time, after an album so experimental like The Butterfly Effect, to make our peace with Darkness and Hope. We were depressed and extremely sad when we went to Finland to do this album and by making it, we raised our heads again and since then never gave up the fight for our fans’ hearts and souls. IRON LIZARDS Release New Single "Confusion Blues" - Debut Album ‘Hungry For Action’ out September 17

Parisian power-trio IRON LIZARDS have released "Confusion Blues", the third and final single from their upcoming debut full-length, Hungry For Action. "Confusion Blues" mixes action-packed rock riffage with blues-influenced lyrics into a raw, unfiltered, and somewhat gloomy take on high-energy garage rock. The band comments:

Iron Lizards are a power-trio from Paris, France. This was then mixed with influences taken from everything from 60’s garage punk to 80’s punk hardcore (Zero Boys, Minor Threat, Gang Green) and psychobilly (The Cramps). Welcome to the ’Edge Of The World’…
Picture yourself somewhere in the Middle-East or North Africa… walking around in one of the markets, through narrow passages… with merchants, beggars and thieves all around… the air filled with smells of spices, incense and animals. A cool and mysterious setting for a dark mystery that reminds us of the backdrops used in epic films like ’Death On The Nile’ and ’Indiana Jones’. “Edge Of The World“ delivers a fusion of bone-crushing guitar riffs and a led-heavy rhythm section, all mixed with multi-ethnical instrumentation and harmonies typical for the regions.

The guitars build on a mono-toned lead riff in the intro and chorus and open-ended chords in the verse and pre-chorus. It is only in the bridge that the more typical duo-harmony riffs are used. The guitars are also tuned in drop B (5 tones down) to give a deeper and darker feel to the sound. The ambiance of the song is also inspired by Led Zeppelin’s song ’Kashmir’ and Rush’s ’A Passage To Bankok’. Packaged in MAD INVASION’s typical dark-themed classic rock, the result is both different and enticing – clearly standing out on the contemporary rock scene.

“Edge Of The World“ is single is the title track from the upcoming album and is also the 'big' song both as far as energy, intensity and delivery.
