On January 24th 2020, more than a decade after its predecessor The Darkness, Finnish death and gothic doom metal icon Tuomas Saukkonen returned with Waves, his sophomore solo-album under the flag of DAWN OF SOLACE. Grey, heavy and dark, but still sorrow carrying certain beauty and strength - the long-awaited record turned out to be an honest picture of the current times for its writer and delivered exactly that kind of atmosphere everyone had hoped for.
Already while recording the album it was clear that DAWN OF SOLACE was brought back to life and this time without the passing of another 14 years! To be released on November 12th via Noble Demon, Flames of Perdition picks up where DAWN OF SOLACE left off with Waves, creating a world full of electrifying melancholy that evokes profound sadness. Like life itself, the darkness of DAWN OF SOLACE has evolved and made a few steps towards the void. This time with an extra amount of solitude that we all have gotten to know during the past 1.5 years.

"'White Noise' was the first song that I wrote for 'Flames Of Perdition' and it was like floodgates were opened and rest of the album just followed like a dark stream. 'White Noise' carries and reflects the mood of the entire album and gives a meaning to terms melancholic, sombre and heavy and the lyrical concept of solitude and loneliness has been given a stronger meaning during the past 1.5 years." Today we are thrilled to share their brand new single and video for “Bring Me His Head”, the second single of their new studio album “LUCIFER IV”, which will be released on October 29th this year!

For this video, singer Johanna had the idea to pay tribute to Brian De Palma's 1976 horror classic "Carrie".
She says: "'Carrie' is one of my favorite movies. Being an outsider myself my entire life, I've always identified with her. We are very excited that this time we got to work with director Amir Chamdin and photographer Crille Forsberg on our videos. Their body of work is quite breathtaking, if you look it up, so it was a real honor. The video to 'Bring Me His Head' is only one part of the story but we can't give anything more away at this point."

Finnish Rock n' Roll duo VELVETS have released ”Light of the Night”, the final single from their upcoming debut album. "Light of the Night” offers electrifying classic rock riffage combined with smooth vocal performances. Sami, the lead singer of Velvets, comments:
"Light of the Night is the third and final single from our upcoming debut album. It’s one of our most rocking and rolling tracks, and we wanted to share this side of the band with our fans before the album arrives. It has its nods towards Thin Lizzy and Kiss, with some early heavy metal on the vocals. The song tells a story of a traveling man making his way back home through the rough trails and rocky roads.”

VELVETS are an endless summer night dipped in a bucket of rock, blues, schlager and funk with a cool breeze coming at you from the south. All set in a timeless space, where the past, present, and future are fused into one. The songs will take you on a journey of love and longing, speeding on the highway and taking off to a place beyond the stars.
Velvets was born in January 2021, when the duo Sami and Sakke were desperately in need of creating new music. With too much time on their hands after finishing the second Rokets album, the Finnish band where the two first met each other as members. The first idea for Velvets was to write love songs and stick to them, kicking things off by listening to a lot of Moon Martin.
The duo has previously toured Finland and the Baltic countries extensively with Rokets since August 2017, well known in Finland for their sweaty, energetic live shows. The band opened for Kaleidobolt in Helsinki for their album release party of their latest album "Bitter" and were the closing act of the first day of the Finnish festival Kill Sörnäinen in Helsinki. With two EP's titled "Rokets" and "Speed & Sound" and the debut album "Fast Times", released on digital and vinyl format in 2020/2021 under the belt the duo decided that it was time for a project of their own - Velvets. Besides Velvets and Rokets, Sakke has played in the hardcore band Locked Up and the country band Rusty Triggers. Sami shares the hardcore background, starting his musical career as the singer of heavy metal band United Seafood.
The band sounds like a session where Moon Martin, Hurriganes, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, and The Allman Brothers started experimenting on a new kind of sound that brought all the pieces together from the different styles of the sweet, sweet music we call rock n roll. This is not your average rough and tough, rowdy and raunchy boy band, with the testosterone levels going through the roof. This is Velvets; beautiful, meaningful songs with melodies born of warm memories and moments we’ve shared with someone we hold dear.

"After spending most of 2020 writing hunkered down in our basement studio, we knew we needed a change of scene. Grey Skies was born out of a cross country road trip out west collaborating with writer/producer Nick Furlong (Papa Roach, Avicii, 5SOS, All Time Low). We built the track over sampled synthesizers with intrusive rock guitars and anthemic vocals to create what we think is very uniquely “Betcha”. The song and music video drops the day before our first headlining tour in over a year and a half. It is our first independent release after parting ways from Atlantic records back in February" says the band.

Iron Lizards are a power-trio from Paris, France. Welcome to the ’Edge Of The World’…
Picture yourself somewhere in the Middle-East or North Africa… walking around in one of the markets, through narrow passages… with merchants, beggars and thieves all around… the air filled with smells of spices, incense and animals. A cool and mysterious setting for a dark mystery that reminds us of the backdrops used in epic films like ’Death On The Nile’ and ’Indiana Jones’. “Edge Of The World“ delivers a fusion of bone-crushing guitar riffs and a led-heavy rhythm section, all mixed with multi-ethnical instrumentation and harmonies typical for the regions.
The guitars build on a mono-toned lead riff in the intro and chorus and open-ended chords in the verse and pre-chorus. It is only in the bridge that the more typical duo-harmony riffs are used. The guitars are also tuned in drop B (5 tones down) to give a deeper and darker feel to the sound. The ambiance of the song is also inspired by Led Zeppelin’s song ’Kashmir’ and Rush’s ’A Passage To Bankok’. Packaged in MAD INVASION’s typical dark-themed classic rock, the result is both different and enticing – clearly standing out on the contemporary rock scene.

'Infernum In Terra' is the fourth studio album from A Pale Horse Named Death, and was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Meat Loaf, Yes, Sepultura, Rob Halford, etc.) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering, while the artwork was done by Kelvin Doran of Serpent Tusk Studios.
"The album to me represents a new beginning, turning a new leaf shall we say with the same vibe from past albums but with a fresh open minded approach," says band leader Sal Abruscato. He adds: "There is no real concrete specific concept, it touches on some personal topics in my life long, my interest in the dark arts, that to have light you must have darkness to balance everything. With daylight comes nightfall, with heaven there is hell and at this moment the world seems to be in a very dark place hence the title of the album ‘Infernum In Terra’. This is a very dark album, but what else is new I always write dark music to sooth a dark soul!"
Sal Abruscato was born in Brooklyn, NY Started playing drums at age 10. He is the co-founder of Type O Negative with Peter Steele and performed on Slow, Deep & Hard, Origin Of The Feces, Bloody Kisses, and various best of and soundtracks. Sal was the drummer for Life Of Agony and performed on River Runs Red, Ugly, River Runs Again, Broken Valley, and A Place Where There's No More Pain. Additional projects include Supermassiv & My Mortality. He is now the singer, songwriter, and guitarist for A Pale Horse Named Death.

The songs on "The Mirror Star" are a mixture of all of the band’s hard rock favorites with a touch of modern vertigo. Every song Nasson wrote for this album is a different beast and with James’s voice, they are truly brought to life. James Robledo is a Chilean vocalist who has performed with several bands including Renegade (Chile) and Thabu (Argentina). The song, which was described as "inspiring" by Loudwire and "explosive" by Alternative Press, appears on their John Feldmann-produced album Baptize, out now via Spinefarm. The track has been wholly embraced by fans and beyond, as it's rapidly approaching the Top 10 at rock radio and has already accumulated a whopping 15 million streams.
"'Warrior' has been a beast of a track since its release," the band says. "It's been such an amazing thing watching it grow and connect with the people. The time has come for a fresh take. Enter Zero 9:36. Same great 'Warrior' taste. New and improved 'Warrior' flavor."
Atreyu will also embark on the headline "The Baptize Tour" this fall. The U.S. tour kicks off on November 9 in Dallas and runs through December 16 in Santa Ana in their native Orange County, California. The trek will feature special guests Crown the Empire, Tetrarch, Saul, and Defying Decay.
Atreyu are eager to get back on the road and perform songs from the new record and their beloved catalog for their legion of dedicated fans.

Sick Puppies original frontman, SHIM, is recording some of the early Sick Puppies hits for fans live on Twitch, while also debuting new music. SHIM will begin with “You’re Going Down,”“Maybe” and “Riptide,” as well as moving on to new songs that he says will be “heavier than anything the Puppies ever did."
"People are angry and they deserve to be. I want to make some music that reflects that and doesn’t pull any punches. Something you can really break shit to. I also want to make the Sick Puppies songs heavier now for the fans that have asked for it," says Shim.
The recording process will be done in a state of the art recording studio in Nashville and live streamed on Twitch with a 10 camera set up across 3 separate live rooms.
Over the coming weeks, Shim will be giving fans the chance to sing on the records by sending files to his discord server. 26 AUGUST 2021 (TORONTO, ON) – Juno Award-winning, powerhouse rock duo Crown Lands – Cody Bowles (vocals and drums) and Kevin Comeau (guitar, bass, and keys) – reveal details of their upcoming EP, White Buffalo, set to release September 16 through Spinefarm Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The four-track record includes the previously released title track “White Buffalo” and the thirteen-minute, multi-part composition “The Oracle” along with two new songs; “Inner Light,” the band’s first-ever instrumental track plus “The Witching Hour (Electric Witch),” a reinterpretation of a song they recorded for their acoustic EP, Wayward Flyers Volume 1.

Crown Lands recorded this project with Grammy Award-winning, Toronto producer David Bottrill (Tool, Mastodon, Rush, Peter Gabriel). In anticipation of its release, the band divulge what people can expect, “the White Buffalo EP rounds out the experience of ‘White Buffalo’ and ‘The Oracle.’ ‘Inner Light’ and ‘The Witching Hour (Electric Witch)’ highlight our obsession with complex meter & harmonization. ‘Inner Light’ is the first Crown Lands instrumental, and we could not be prouder of it. We have continually pushed the boundaries of what two people can do.” They continue, “This is an ever-growing project and we are hopping back into the studio with David Bottrill to expand upon the themes presented in this body of work.”
“White Buffalo” which was released earlier this summer with “The Oracle,” is the third instalment of a trilogy of songs addressing Indigenous rights. The series of songs connect the past with “Mountain," the present with “End of the Road” while “White Buffalo” aspires to a prosperous future.

With the immaculate songwriting skills and the perfect balance between harsh death metal fueled outbursts and exquisite melodic melancholy, HOODED MENACE unleash skeletal horror and somber despair onto their craving audience with 'The Tritonus Bell'!
HOODED MENACE were formed in Joensuu, Finland in 2007 by guitarist Lasse Pyykkö, who had also performed in the Finnish cult death metal band PHLEGETHON. The band has always avowed to the strong influence by early CANDLEMASS and CATHEDRAL as well as PARADISE LOST, AUTOPSY, ASPHYX, and WINTER. Their lyrics are often inspired by the classic 1970’s Spanish horror movie series ‘The Blind Dead’.
HOODED MENACE recorded a 2-track demo, ‘The Eyeless Horde’ in 2007, which was released on 7″ the following year. Their debut album ‘Fulfill the Curse’ was released in 2008 and the highly acclaimed sophomore full-length ‘Never Cross the Dead’ came out in 2010. With a penchant for classic vinyl, the Finns also released several split singles and EP's, for example with ASPHYX and COFFINS, before delivering their full lengths 'Effigies of Evil' (2012) and ‘Darkness Drips Forth’ (2015). HOODED MENACE remained in a highly creative mode during their latest full length ‘Ossuarium Silhouettes Unhallowed’ which was released in 2018 via Season of Mist.
Throughout the years, HOODED MENACE toured in Europe and North America, and performed at many major metal festivals such as Hellfest, Roadburn, Maryland Deathfest, Tuska, and Party San Open Air among others.
With their upcoming sixth album 'The Tritonus Bell', HOODED MENACE threw in more classic 80´s Heavy Metal, such as KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE, resulting to the most up tempo (but never fast) HOODED MENACEalbum with the catchiest song material to date!

Fort Worth, TX based, heavy rock / metal band LOCKJAWhas released the tense, official music video for their newest single, "Silence the Fear." With the video directed by Jeremy Peterson, "Silence the Fear" was produced by Chris Collier, with whom the band is completing their upcoming, as yet unnamed album.

As we release Silence the Fear we are currently in the studio with Producer, Chris Collier working on our new record, (yet to be titled). Lockjaw is a band based in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. The group recently came out with a brand new release announcement for their upcoming single: Silence The Fear. This is going to be the first of many tracks, which the group is planning on releasing throughout the year. This particular song feels like a compelling new chapter for the band, highlighting its commitment to creating music that blurs the lines between a wide range of influences. From the depth and energy of alternative rock down the impactful edge of heavy metal, there are no rules. The group has a rather long history, fueled by the friendship of the band members, who got together to form this band while in high school in the late 90s. The music scene was quite different back then, but just like today, Lockjaw was never interested in chasing trends. These talented musicians had the vision to make their own music and truly give it their all. Lockjaw started making music in 1998, and it didn’t take long for the group to be able to record and release a handful of EPs throughout the local scene. The band’s music earned a solid reputation, and Lockjaw soon grew to the ranks of excellent local bands, on stage and in the studio.
The group is on the verge of making their return with some brand new music, as they are gearing up to release some exciting new material. Lockjaw’s most recent studio single is titled "Silence The Fear," and it is going to be available on August 6th, 2021. On the occasion of this and other recordings, The band hit the studio with famed producer Chris Collier, already well-known for his work with seminal bands such as Korn, as well as Lynch Mob, Prong, and KMX, only to mention a few. Without spoiling anything, let’s just say that these songs depict the band at its best. Instead of releasing a whole record at once, Lockjaw is set to be releasing a handful of singles throughout the years, allowing their releases to seamlessly spread over time and giving the audience a nice constant stream of content. The band’s upcoming music is ultimately a perfect example of the band’s attitude and charismatic approach to songwriting and performance, going for an immediate and earthy sound that favors the human connection between the musicians, rather than hiding their work under an excessive layer of studio trickery. If you are a fan of artists such as Metallica, Lamb Of God, Amon Amarth, Opeth, MachineHead, and Slipknot, this one is definitely going to be right up your alley. Production-wise, the band’s new music is just as exciting and crisp as you might expect from such high standards of recording and production. For instance, "Silence The Fear’s" mix is balanced and very detail-oriented, making for a lively, edgy, and stark sonic approach. In other words, there are many subtle nuances in this release, which really add to the richness of the track when summed up together. At first glance, you’ll notice the roaring walls of guitar and the energetic rhythm section, but if you dive deeper, there is a lot more to uncover. The dynamic spectrum of the song is also very balanced, with a tight yet deep low end that really growls, holding it all together while adding some aggressive edge to the sound.
